Hori FPS Pad Plus for PS4/PS3 review.

Would they accept a return if a button stops working, like the guy on the previous page?
This is their return policy

Seriously? That's a very long cable. Seems like overkill.

It's definitely 15-20 feet. Some people have far away consoles and TV sets from their couch so they gave people benefit of the doubt there. I always play games close to a smaller PC monitor.

This thing still vibrates, right? I read some badly translated pages that made it seem like it didnt but of course that wasnt reliable.

I saw other pages that said it did, so they cant really agree and theyre all bad english.

How are people liking this controller? Is it comfortable? How would you rate it against the regular ps4 controller?

Much better IMO. The DS4 is great, but I'm so used to the assymetrical layout I find it better for me.

Also, the triggers are buttons, so the guns fire instantly.

Aw, well I like vibration so I'm out. :[

I was like that until I tried it. Makes shooting back while under fire easier.

I will pick this up as soon as it comes to NA.

Man, the thing is backordered everywhere. I ordered a second as a gift for a friend from NCSX and there is no ETA when they will ship.

So far, no problems with the controller.

Yeah I'm glad I picked mine up when I did. And I agree, I like the button triggers, makes your finger less fatigued in the long run, same with having vibration. I enjoy vibration in games but with FPS games I find it more distracting to play seriously.

In stock @ Amazon for $80!

The one review said the manual is in Japanese so he can't program it.

i ordered one. thanks for review. this will probably be a good primary controller for Destiny. that game wears down DS4s fast.

Is there any other place in NA (online) to buy this. Also, does it rest in your palm like the Xbox 360 or on the fingers like the Dualshocks?

Just bought this of Playasia. It's on sale for 32 euros ex shipping. Which is quite cheap actually:)

Edit: or maybe just normal price seeing the post about new being 35 dollar. But atleast it's a hell of a lot cheaper then 1st party:)

Really considering this controller but I see no headphone jack. How would I go about communicating with this? If I have the PS4 Gold wireless headset, would those work with the chat?

Also what's the best site to order from if I am In the U.S.? The NYC website or play Asia? I saw play Asia would be cheaper with shipping but they are located over seas so idk how returns would work if something does happen.

I've been using it for Destiny since I got the controller.

More like the 360 controller. Only US website that I know of is NCSX.

I'm using the Astro Mixamp, and that is through USB. Yes, the gold wireless headset will work out you can get a cheap USB soundcard and use that too.

Either is fine. However, play Asia will take longer unless you pay for faster shipping whereas the NYC site will be what USPS Priority Mail takes to get it to you once they ship it.

Ok cool thanks for info!

I do from the couch too(12 feet away) , but I've never seen a cable longer than ten feet for a controller. 15-20 is very long.

I always thought that most people would never forgive Sony for having symetrical controller for PS3... like it was the 360 way or the highway...

Then PS4 happened and nobody ever complained about it... shows that L stick position was never a problem at all.

Thanks. I ended up getting it. I'm pretty sure they cut all the features (six-axis, light bar, rumble) to keep it cheap. Does it seem like it has a solid build quality (Is it a little weighty)?

It kind of has a cheap plastic feel and is really light. But that doesn't make it a bad controller, the actual buttons and analog sticks have a nice build quality to them.

Did a video of the HORI FPS Plus with Destiny and the Turbo.

AWFUL AUDIO WARNING because the Astro Mixamp is shit through USB D:

Thanks for this review, man. I placed my order as soon as you had Thorn auto-firing :)

The main reason I want this, however, is because I've had 4 R2 triggers break on me (sticking), and I'm sick of the terrible DS4 build quality.

It's currently about $60 with Prime shipping on Amazon US. 2 left in stock now!

Thanks for the thread. I ordered one to see how it goes with Bloodborne, I'm used to DS on PC with a 360 controller and want to see if this makes the transition easier. Crossing my fingers!

I've been using it for Destiny since I got the controller.

did it improve your performance? one thing about using HCs with the DS4 that bothers me is that the triggers feel like I need to press it in a lot and that wore down the triggers fast.

Yes. It made Thorn much easier to use in ToO for reaction shots and I just use Red Death in crucible now. FB too in PvE.

I even moved back to my Final Boss with stability for sniping due to the high RoF that I can really use with the digital triggers.

It helps to make those reaction shots almost instant. Even managed to snipe someone at the start of their blink animation just by reaction.

Finally grabbed one of these. I'm not crazy about how cheap the buttons feel but you get used to it. Works like a dream for BLOPS III.

I can confirm that Kontrol Freeks fit the sticks fine; mine were the 360/PS3 fit if it matters. Just like using the 360 pad.

A wired 3rd party controller. No thanks

Yeah Hori is a quality producer of great 3rd party products. This isn't no Gamestop brand controller. If you take FPS or action games seriously you deserve to check this controller out. I haven't used my DS4 since I got mine.
