Hori FPS Pad Plus for PS4/PS3 review.

Four hours is being too generous.

Not for me. My controller (thankfully) last up to 7, 8 hours, people complaining about battery life should just grab a charging station.

The peeling of the thumb sticks is the real issue with the DS4.

I'm really interested in the Hori controller. Gonna order one on Amazon, hopefully it's good for BF4.

Please tell me how can I use a charging station while I'm playing a game and the battery dies.

If you are suggesting a second DS4, I can PM you my address if you are willing to kindly donate one.

Otherwise, your solution just works for you. Not only the fact that I still would need to buy a charging station to deal with the awful battery life.

My Dualshock 3 lasted 20+ hours. Even if my controller lasted 7 (which it doesn't, not even close) I wouldn't be happy.

Are the sticks the same diameter as the DS4? I have some sets of Kontrol Freeks that I have grown used to but I keep killing DS4's with all the FPS time I log.

nothing like pushing a hard angled shape over and over!

...seriously,. didn't they think about comfort at all beyond the shape of the main body? those shoulder buttons look like they could cut you they're so sharp edged.

I've had mine for a couple days. I agree the shoulder buttons aren't great, but I'm happily putting up with them because of how great the triggers are compared to the DS4 triggers.

same. i get 8 hours or so out of mine. and if on that rare occasion I'm gaming for more then 8 hours straight, i have a second pad on charge. but i could honestly make do with just the one.

Ordered this from NCSX a few weeks ago and it sounds like they're finally going to be able to fulfill my order this week. Should make returning to Destiny in a few weeks that much better...

Destiny has already destroyed 2.5 DS4s...

I put my ps4 fps freaks on it and it fits.

Impressions:

I got mine and it's very surprising. It feels nice in hand and the buttons are responsive. The controller is longer than the 360 and very light. I tested it with the ps4 battlefields and MGS: Ground Zeros and it works nicely on them. Tap firing works amazing (1 press = 1 shot) and there's less travel in the triggers so it has a quicker ADS time. I did lower my sensitivity because I felt the thumbsticks were a little more responsive than the DS4. I'll probably play most games with it unless it has a six-axis/Lightbar requirement like Until Dawn.

I ordered from Play-Asia and it arrived in 4 days. And I used the Google Translate App to read the instructions.

I ordered mine from Play-Asia yesterday at midnight and it's already getting delivered today. Fastest shipment I've ever experienced for an item from HK to Canada. But I got charged for duty and taxes ofc. It's still worth it for me since I needed a new controller and it costs just as much to buying a new DS4 here anyway.

That 8 hours becomes about 4 if you use headphones plugged into the controller. It's ridiculous how awful the battery life is.

Anyone know how to program it? Searching internet came up with nothing.
Here's most of the manual. Figure it out!

And then there's some kind of correction notice:

All kidding aside, can anyone read Japanese and explain it to us? I tried using Google Translate but it didn't quite make sense.

Is there any way at all to try one of these controllers in the USA before buying? I'm intrigued, but I always found the 360 controller, and to some extend, the Wii U Pro, to feel GIGANTIC in my hands. I'm concerned that this would have the same feel. Although, with the amount of interest in this controller, I could probably sell it if I didn't like it.

Since it is an import, unless you know someone that has it, no. You'll have to buy one.

How can you buy the hori pad in the USA? All the links in the OP took me to pages where I needed to pay in yen? How long is the wire connecting it to the PS4?

Anyone has a video of how the "target" thing work? Considering getting this for that, but isn't using it "cheating?" Or it doesn't feel that way?

It's like those modded controllers that let Call of Duty players dropshot and do crazy moves. But this doesn't sound that extreme...

Wait, since 99% of games use dual stick, that doesn't really work for you either.

No, they don't. FPS is one of the few genres where you're naturally using both sticks a lot, almost nothing else do you use the right stick for anything but occasional camera control.

The only reason the PS controller has stayed the same for 25 years is "because reasons" - the Dpad hasn't been the primary input for modern gaming in a looooong time. It doesn't need to be in the position it's in. symmetry looks nice but functionality is sure nicer.
