Moderation has had issues I won't deny that but to attribute all the failings solely on them is some bullshit especially when policy has been so fluid.

There is a lot of misinformation about what ******** is and who is running it. It isn't solely old mods running it.

Yeah its mostly -not- old mods running it. There's only a small handful. Most of the mods/adminis were good posters here who were not mods.

The problematic mods GAF had, like Besada, aren't even part of it.

Hello everyone,

I do not want to get into the backgrounds of the topic at hand, but I am quite appalled by the behaviour some users have been showing regarding death threats, NSFW images and the like.

I do not know where the future might lead me, as I will seek a way to enjoy my freetime and currently its not yet clear where that place might be. I can understand that some people are sad, frustrated or disillusioned and they try to cope in their own way. For some this might be staying quiet, for some its a funny quitting pun and for some its apparently to punish and damage neogaf in any way by posting damaging content.

Its only been a few days when we were all together laughing about stupid stuff like #WontSomebodyPleaseThinkOfTheChildren? , so... could you please do that?

I am currently trying to organize my circle of acquaintances and am sorta semi involved in migrating procedures, so I feel slightly responsible for how this transpires even though I am trying my best not to rile up anyone. I want to make it very clear that most people looking for a new home do not agree with this extreme thread shitting behaviour. Neogaf might become a place with a different direction than I was used to and that is fine, people are allowed to like different things.

In case this will be my last post for whatever reason, I do wish you all the best
, maybe we'll see each other again here or somewhere else, I dont know yet.

I second all of this. I'm one of the people who is enthusiastic about migration, but the one thing that gives me pause is that some of the fellow travellers who want to come with me are the kind of posters who think it's at all appropriate to make a spectacle out of ban requests, trash the board on their way out, or pick fights with everyone remaining here (out of familiarity, a lack of visible alternatives, general confusion, or any other reason) by calling them a bunch of abuse enablers and embedded GG agents.

This does not bode well at all for the culture of the people departing, and I probably wouldn't be on board with migrating myself if all I saw was NeoGAF and I didn't know through other channels that Toma's attitude to this is the one driving the movement to rebuild elsewhere. Unfortunately, this isn't a perspective that is in public view and available for all of you, although I hope it will be once the people leaving have reestablished elsewhere. I am hoping that wherever we go next, we will crowd out the miscreants who just want an excuse for a forum war, no matter how legitimate their anger at EviLore may be and how high our tempers are right now.

A few of the account suicides have been funny. Those were all that was needed and the point has been made. If your contributions were ever valuable, packing up and taking your participation/content away from NeoGAF is all the damage you need to inflict. There's no need to wreck the place for the users who have chosen to remain for whatever reason.
