I found out I got a girl pregnant, advice?

Im just in school, and work. I basically live paycheck to paycheck and have a dead end job. She is in school to be a hair stylist and lives with her parents. When she told me she was pregnant she made it very clear she was broke which is kind of a trend for her.

sorry brah, even if you want to be in the kid's life, they're gonna take you to the cleaners.

And at the end of the those nine months, that little bastard will be his to deal with for the rest of his life.

And if that happens he should try to be the best father possible. Why should the kid pay for its parents' stupidity? If they keep it, then give it the best life possible even if it means sacrificing your freedom and future.

At least you don't need to worry about getting her pregnant now while having unprotected sex. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Two weeks later: "I found out I got HIV from a girl, advice?"

If he wants to be a father...great, but forcing yourself when you don't want to is terrible idea. Children need to be loved, not have a father that is miserable whenever he has to spend time with them.
Fathers need to provide financially for their kids. Everything else is entirely up to them. It's best if they want to be a part of child's life, but some people are just not suited for that.

I am only discussing one of the scenarios.

Great, now we have paranoid tinfoil hat accusatory GAF stepping in to say she's faking it or lying

You same person who jumped on OP back in that Last Of Us thread then hunted down his PSN to prove he lying over difficulty so you cant really say anything.

Some girls do lie about this might not be case here but it smart to confirm 100% before committing to something this scale

i would be ok with this it's her body stuff if the dude was relieved of all responsibility, otherwise it's just selfish and sadistic.

this seems like a 20th century attitude, i don't like it.
Can't you sign your parental rights away before birth?

It's your kid. Be there for him/her and for the mother as best you can. Don't get freaked out about having that extra layer of responsibility.

if you don't wanna be a father, don't be one. sacrificing your freedom and future for a mistake is dumb.

Can't you sign your parental rights away before birth?

no, i don't think so.

It's not bad for you to want an abortion but you better ask her, more than once, what she truly wants.

And if you're worried imagine what she's going through? She's the one who has to deal with it all, it is way more stressful for her trust me.

As someone who's had many scares, my best advice is to be there for her, no matter what.

Good luck bud.

Sorry...maybe English isn't your first language. I'm saying he has to support her decision regarding the pregnancy, not that he has to marry her or move in with her, just that whatever she decides he has to support that and not just cut his ties with her because she made a decision that he's not happy with. And if she chooses to have the baby, you support that child. He doesn't have to "be there" for the child, and judging from reading the OP, it would probably be better if he isn't since he clearly has no sense of responsibility whatsoever and would likely make a terrible father, but he has to make sure that child is provided for. Hopefully she is able to find an able responsible partner one day to help her raise the child, but plenty of children turn out just fine being raised by a single parent.

It's good to know that, regardless of the outcome, he won't have to suffer being demonized by self-righteous douchebags who enjoy dictating to others how they should live their lives and projecting their bullshit onto innocent people.

Fuck, dude. He's reaching out for help and all you have to spare is contempt. Have some fucking compassion for a fellow human. It's better for everyone involved that he is honest about his feelings rather than being guilted into committing to something he can't or won't see through to the end. This, in fact, seems to me like the "responsible" thing to do.

So what should he do if he wants her to abort but she wants to keep it?

She is screwed as well.

If he can't convince her I guess he is screwed.

And if that happens he should try to be the best father possible. Why should the kid pay for its parents' stupidity? If they keep it, then give it the best life possible even if it means sacrificing your freedom and future.

Why should anyone pay? There's no logical reason this embryo should be allowed to grow into a baby in this case.

That's being a selfish asshole. "My personal satisfaction goes first. My kids? Ppff fuck them! I come first!"

He will still be required to pay child support, so he won't be selfish asshole. Everything beyond that is up to him.

no, i don't think so.
Seems kind of shitty if you can't. I mean, yeah, it's shitty that a parent doesn't want to be apart of their childs life but if the mother has sole say in keeping/aborting shouldn't the father at least have the ability to sign over any and all rights? I know it's cruel but it just kind of seems 1 sided especially considering babies don't make themselves.

I won't sit here and bully OP into being there and raising the kid because it's not my place. I know that given the choice i would of rather of had an absentee father then one who openly resented the fact i existed and my mother for having me.

That's a funny way of spelling 'being irresponsible'. He's man, he has to act like one. But I love how you act like his life is over because of a child. His life would 'change', not end. Some you are some real misanthropes calling the child a 'parasite', 'little bastard', and otherwise.

But in less he's planning to be violent with the girl, it WILL be up to her. And the moral choice there is to support her. Not be a irresponsible fucktard who rather fart off than accept the consequences of his actions.

I know a girl who ended up pregnant with a guy who she just randomly hooking up with.
The guy basically told her to get an abortion straight out, so she did. They broke things off shortly after. This was like 2 years ago.
She still sometimes struggles to deal with her choice/consequences.

Meanwhile the guy's probably out there without a care in the world.

Point is.. Abortion is really, seriously unfair for the girl. Don't force it on her.

Yep. We truly live in a generation full of man-children.

Please be upfront about what you want, especially if you guys are not financially able to care for a kid. Just don't be a dick about it.

That's being a selfish asshole. "My personal satisfaction goes first. My kids? Ppff fuck them! I come first!"

there is no kid, not until it pops out and breathes on its own. until then its an abortable parasite. what's selfish is ruining someone's future because they dropped a load of useless sperm in the wrong place.

Fascinating when life isn't as simple as "Oh well get an abortion."

Complex issues where both sides are right and wrong.

there is no kid, not until it pops out and breathes on its own. until then its an abortable parasite. what's selfish is ruining someone's future because they dropped a load of useless sperm in the wrong place.

That is a fucking disgusting thing to say.

if you're man enough to stick it in, you damn sure better be man enough to take responsibility for what comes out of it.

Agreed. We all love sex but never thing about the consequences. My father pounded that shit into my head. Every time I had sex it was with the understanding that I better damn well take responsibility for the consequences. (i.e. I ALWAYS wrapped that shit up)

So she has the right to be the sole person making the decision for the next 9 months but he has no right to make one about the rest of his life? His obligation is financial one, as well as telling her now whether he will be a real father or not, so she can make an informed decision.

It's a new life. You are ending a new life in development for your own personal satisfaction.

Besides you must think the OP is some sort of futureless idiot. We don't know, he may be up to the challenge. You guys acting like a baby is somehow the end of the world are truly pathetic. You man up. Your perspective on the world changes. Your life changes. And having a baby usually changes you for the better.

you really dont sound like youre ready for a kid so convince her to abort it or everyone involved in this is gonna suffer

^^ he said himself hes not ready so please stfu and dont ruin his life in advance

Try your best to find a decision both of you will be happy with. Any decision will more than likely affect her more than it does you though. Her decision is unilateral though and doesn't need your approval so take that into consideration too. I'm pretty sure you'll have no leg to stand on. Weirdest case I've heard of is a widow who wanted to abort child but her partents in law wanted to keep it but there was nothing to stop the abortion from happening.

Now, I'm curious if there is any kind of say for a father that wants the child but the mother wants to abort. Does anyone know of a situation like this? I'd assume that the mother can abort without any kind of say anyhow.

There were two people in the bed. Nothing one sided about it. Deal with the consequences of your decisions. No contraception works 100%, but at least use it since it does for the most part.

That said, don't know what I'd do. Have a good talk with her, see where she stand and make clear what you want. If those positions differ, at least support her after and be there for the kid.

there's no child, just a bundle of dividing cells and whatnot. how about she accepts the consequences of her actions and trash the bugger.

all this man up talk is silly. woman up, how's that, doesn't sound as stoic.

It's a new life. You are ending a new life in development for your own personal satisfaction.

A few weeks into the pregnancy the fetus doesn't even have a single developed neuron, let alone any structure that could bring forth any kind of consciousness. Ethically speaking, I don't see much difference between an abortion at such an early stage or using condoms. Stepping on an ant would be worse.

Of course, it's still not easy to just rationalize away concerns, but maybe it helps to remember that when considering an abortion. There does not exist any person yet worth protecting.

Things get muddier of course once the fetus develops, but that is apparently not the case here.

Well yeah, but the only sure way for that is to never have sex or get a vasectomy. I mean every time you have sex protected or not, there is the possibility of ending up a father some way and no then you don't get a choice. Sorry if he feels like its a mistake, but if she wants to keep it, then the man is gonna be responsible in some way. I'm baffled as to why people don't have that pounded into their heads by now.

abort the parasite, you're not ready to be a father

i don't like this she has the final word business since having a babby literally destroys about 20 years of your life, the important bits.

i'd convince her any way you can

that's my (harsh) opinion

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
