If you could revive one cancelled game, which one would you choose?

Castlevania for Dreamcast. I was looking forward to this game so fucking much. I'm sure it would have sucked, but I wish we got the chance to play it at least.

I wonder how far along it was. I assume not very since they didn't even bother bringing it to another system once Dreamcast died.

A bunch of those assets were apparently used in Curse of Darkness.

I'm with you though, would have been nice to have seen the original game (especially since IMO Curse of Darkness was kind of rubbish).

Back in 1987, Nintendo developed a game based on the movie Hellraiser for the NES. It was cancelled because they couldn't get the battery-backup system in the cartridge to work at the time. I would gladly pay for a current-gen version of a Hellraiser game.

Oh, and MML3. That one hurt my soul.

Stargate SG-1: The Alliance (IIRC the title correctly).

Why? There's actually a playable build floating out there that they can reuse assets from and rebuild the older parts to a higher quality level. Slap it on Steam for about $30 and the people with Stargate nostalgia/hunger will buy it.

Frame City Killer, although I have a feeling it would have been really bad. It would have been nice to see a Japanese-developed GTA clone early in the 360/PS3 gen.

And 8 Days.

I wanted this game so much. I was more intrigued by the ability to open a shop and sell "goods" to other players and be successful without ever having to go out and be a fighter. I had goals of being the best shopkeeper out there...then they were cancelled. Shame really...

Yeah.... yeah :(

Sometimes I hate how paranoid this industry is - FRD died, TS4 was cancelled and despite constant clamouring Crytek won't even put out a super cheap HD re-release of TS2 or TS:FP to gauge interest because the franchise isn't perceived to be marketable (i.e. generic) enough.

Star Wars 1313 although I hope Visceral are basically making it under a different name. Especially considering Hennig and Stashwick are now working on it.

Also Dungeon Keeper 3. Definitely.

Star Wars: Darth Maul
Frame City Killer
Bourne Sequel
Perfect Dark 2 (the one cancelled before Zero was made)

Another one for Xenosaga series. I love all the X games, Xenogears being my favorite, Xenosaga, especially 3 not far behind. Would love it if they released more games in the Xenosaga series as originally planned.

Anyone remember Gladius? I remember talk of Gladius II, but it never materialized and as a Lucasarts game, it never will. The original Gladius was top-tier for me -- I'd be happy with more of the same on newer hardware.

As for Metroid Dread, I'd be more interested to see "Metroid 1.5." This was a conceptual document from Retro level designer Tony Giovannini and artist Andrew Jones that put Samus on an abandoned ship battling a malevolent rogue AI with multiple personalities. All the while, the ship drifts into a parallel dimension, causing all kinds of trippy things to happen to both time and gravity. I don't guess it was "canceled" as it likely never made it past conceptualizing, but I also don't think Metroid Dread is technically "cancelled" -- you know how Nintendo likes to keep those things kicking around for years until they show up, in some shape or another, eons later (even if as a completely different game, or a part of a game).

Speaking of, I'd love to see Star Fox 2 come out in some sort of (official) capacity. This could be due to my want for just any sort of Star Fox game. Just something. Please.

I always wondered what 6 Days in Fallujah would have been like. Probably just another generic military shooter, but if it was really that controversial that no one would publish it, maybe it would have had some merit.
