How long did you play the game for in the last 24 hours though? I tried MTG Duels and it wasted 50% of my iPhone 6s+ battery life after 30 minutes of gameplay, and the phone was hot (not warm) to the touch. I deleted that crap right away and am now wary of MTG apps...

According to the screen it says 3,8 hours, which is probably right.
This morning (7 am, now it's 7 pm I still have 20%) the iPhone was fully charged.
It doesn't drain the battery that much despite having many effects on screen (the background is in motion).

BTW...the MTG Duels app is THE WORST EVER for battery.
Never understood why but it's (or was) a known problem.

I´m looking for a loot based game doesn't use permadeath as most rouge likes and has some semblance of actual level design, Diablo clones don't do much for me but I guess that's what's gonna be recommended the most. I've been super into the Souls series and obviously you're not gonna find the same here but something relatively similar, I have Wayward souls and it's fun but it's too punishing at the third tower and it lacks the loot grinding and leveling up I'm seeking.

Played Monster Hunter on my psp way back so that's also out.

We updated Star Bridge so you can buy ships with credits. Seems like the game was featured in South East Asia and a load of people started playing it.

Operation Dracula is on sale (or will be later tonight) for $2.99. I don't get some of the mixed reviews on the App Store. To me, it's a fun, tongue-in-cheek tribute to 80s cheesiness combined with pretty tough shump mechanics.

Maybe wasn't quite worth it at $7.99 but I'd recommend it for $2.99.

MtG:puzzle Quest is pure crack.
My new Nissa deck feels unstoppable, but I started to hit some placeholder art tough :(

Do the quotas for the deck change as you level? (6 creatures, 2 spells, 2 support?)

Did the trick to grab the game and it looks great, just wondering how to go about some of those challenges without turning it into a huge battle of attrition to hit those goals.

I've been on the road, so a little slow to announce this one, but we just published our first clicker title last week, Tap It Big : Casino Empire, by US based developer Fuzzycube.

Currently has a 5 star rating on the Store, and we've been getting really good feedback on it.

Personally, its the first clicker on mobile I have played, and the title I have probably played most over the last month in my own time. Didn't think it would be the type of game I'd play until I actually started playing it. Must get round to taking a look at Tap Titans.

Checked this out mainly because I like casinos and damn if I'm not addicted. Really didn't think a clicker game would be for me, but this one has grabbed me for some reason.

Thanks.

After getting engrossed myself, I remember sending this to the rest of my management team with a note to the effect of "You are going to think I'm crazy suggesting we publish this but try it out and tell me what you think". They unanimously came back saying they liked it. The team at Fuzzycube put together a really polished game.

The challenge for us is getting more people to try it out, and being casino themed it has little to no featuring coverage from Apple so building the userbase is slow going.

Appreciate you giving it a shot :)

Nothing against a mobile game as GOTY but damn Prune is not very good. I could see a case for 80 Days as that is fantastic but Prune did absolutely nothing for me.
Agreed. I'd definitely put games like Galactic Keep, Downwell, Deathwatch, and Dark Echo way above Prune. I liked it, but it wouldn't appear on my mobile GOTY list

Downwell really does deserve more attention then it's getting. I would say that I want it to win at the VG awards but we all know Fallout Shelter will be taking that one. (which I thought was only okay, couldn't hold my attention)

Meh. I don't agree with Time's list for one reason: Ori and the Blind Forest isn't on it. It's my personal GoTY. Definitely should be in the top 10 at least.

As far as the mobile games on it, Prune was unique and I give it credit for that but I agree that there are many games well above it. Probably won't be popular for saying this either, but I also think Downwell is fun but not GoTY material. In terms of satisfying twitch arcade gameplay, HopiKo is severely overlooked IMO. I'd also put Hero Emblems in the mix.

6-2-2 is valid initially just for Nissa.
Other planes walkers have a different mix.
I've just unlocked Heroic Encounters but I never saw the mix changing but the max allowed does.
I have actually Nissa with a 8-0-2 mix.
Do know that you have more than 10 cards...you have 10 cards TYPES but every card has several duplicates while playing.

Game is out in NZ too apparently, maybe it's coming out this week worldwide. (Not sure).

Oh yes Downwell is really great, it's more of a Steam game to me so didn't think of mentioning.

Ohmygad, at last !
Really curious to see how good it is, the betas never did much for me.

I've seen some videos on youtube...and I must say I'm really impressed (Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Steam...)
So impressed that I'm considering getting a PC and a controller just for that. (I've been a really hard core PC master race evangelist for almost 20 years....now the sole idea of being in front of a PC to play makes me sick).

The idea of playing Ori on my iPhone with the controller in bed at night is tempting.
I'll have to talk to wife before that tough.

Since this is now in NZ, I figured I use my account from there to finally check this out. Haven't been crazy about the other F2P Puzzle Quest games, but if you are digging this as much as you say you are, I trust your instincts. I was just too lazy to create a Singapore account.

Sadly....

The game is great but difficulty after chapter 1 must be ramped up significantly.
In particular opponent AI must summon creatures at a much higher pace and earlier.
When it does, the game is imho absolutely stellar (much more Magic 'lite' than a match 3 game), and you really have to sweat for victory.

As you can see...the freemium part was absolutely negligible (never had to wait but once 10 minutes, was able to gather enough exp points to fully level up at least 3-4 plane walkers and I could buy a ton of boosters).

That said it will be a moot point against real people...so I can't wait for the game to launch worldwide and open multiplayer.

Cool to see that you completed the whole game and that the freemium aspects aren't bad. Looking forward to diving into it tonight.

To-Fu Fury is free. Well worth the download with nice graphics, some new mechanics and cool perspective changes.

Til Morning's Light $6.99 ---> $1.99

Any impressions of Sentinels of the Multiverse? I read that it works well as a solo game.

Some more sales:

Lara Croft GO $4.99 --> $2.99 (no introduction required)

Sproggiwood $9.99 --> $4.99 (highly recommended and a great entry point for newbies to roguelikes)

HopiKo $3.99 --> $.99 (my favorite puzzle / platformer of the year...maybe platformer is the wrong word. But hard nails, unique and genuinely satisfying when you finally complete each level)

All three of those will likely be in my top 10 for GoTY.

Thought I had added this to my AppZapp after fielding everyone's favorites last month...guess not, haha. Bought!

I am wondering this also. Is it worth the 5 bucks? I enjoyed playing the card game with my friends.

I haven't played it but have heard good things about it.

Has anyone played the Light Apprentice? Looks really good. Kind of odd that they released an app with one chapter (still available for $2.99) but now came out with a completely new app containing the whole volume (4 chapters) for $4.99.

Think I wouldn't be too happy if I bought the first game.

Anyway it does look sweet though. Combination of a comic book and turned based RPG. Cool art style.

Add Downwell to the growing sales list down to $.99 from $2.99.

Hitman Sniper. $4.99 --> $.99
Zero Age $2.99 --> $.99

There's quite a few other games on sale too, but many have sales pretty regularly. But if you have AppZapp, more keep popping up!

I'm also going to recommend Sproggiwood it is fantastic and a deal at 1/2 price.

I'd also like to pile on another request for info about Sentinels of the Multiverse I'm very interested.

Finally and totally OT: Ferrite Recording Studio I need to do some voice recordings for a personal project I'm working on and started looking for a good app to record, and edit audio. After trying several and coming away disappointed I stumbled on Ferrite, it is elegant, dead simple to use and free for recording and editing up to 10 minutes. Absolutely fantastic. I need to record over 10 minutes so after playing around for a couple days I dropped the $19.99 to unlock everything.

WOW amazing this is a multi track (up to 25 track) DAW with recording built in and the option to import any non-copyright protected audio. The extra features include a compressor, high pass, low pass, cutoff, silence stripping, track ducking. Overall just an amazing package. This thing was so head, and shoulders above it's competition I wanted to mention it, if you have any interest in recording audio on your phone check out the free version at least.

Embarrassed to say I'm stuck at the very first new Lara Croft GO level.
I do not remember for the life of me how to pull a column.

EDIT: DOH....the 'arrow' was hidden under the snake graphic for some reason...
