They still haven't been able to top the first year with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Breath of the Wild. Odyssey and splatoon 2 and even Xenblade 2 if you're into that kinda thing.I would love to love the switch, but there's a software drought.
When's the last time a MUST HAVE game was released?

Now I want to know what is a failure to you for SS. Last Pokemon SM on 3ds sold 16 million, with remakes 8 million. On 3ds it looks like crap, tons of people still bought it, and pokemon graphics are only getting better from here. Did any of your friends who like pokemon bought these? Imo people want to play pokemon for monster catching mostly, graphics and such doesn’t matter that much.
I don’t understand the notion of it being outdated and uninspired though. Care to elaborate?
Maybe not for you, I mean if that’s the logic here then Xbox One is suffering from software drought since launch because there is zero game on that system is “must have” for me.I would love to love the switch, but there's a software drought.

Wait, are you saying that within the last 6 years there haven't been any multiplat games you've thought were "must have"? Because that's a big difference here; Xbox actually gets multiplat games. The Switch gets a very limited selection of them.I mean if that’s the logic here then Xbox One is suffering from software drought since launch because there is zero game on that system is “must have” for me.
I already have my PS4 for multiplat games I bought Switch for its first and third party exclusives and so far I’m happy what I’m getting especially this year we are getting Astral Chain, Daemon X Machina, Fire Emblem Three Houses and Link’s Awakening Remake. Xbox in other hand getting NOTHING I want but my point is this has more to do with my taste in games rather than Xbox One lacking games.Wait, are you saying that within the last 6 years there haven't been any multiplat games you've thought were "must have"? In terms of exclusives, sure. But one doesn't stop the other, they're both suffering from droughts in that regard.
Personally there are games I want on Switch, but then I count them up, go to a retail site, and look at what other games there are and I just can't justify the purchase for about 4 games with barely anything else on the horizon.
Why did you compare it to SM on emulator? Like I said did you guys bought those games on 3ds? I for one am not seeing SS as crappy and uninspired, and even more hype than before. Had bought most of the previous iteration or remakes on 3ds, and will continue to do so for SS (I’m skipping let’s go). So yeah, not agreeing with you on that, I will say it is the new age for pokemon. That's the thing, Pokemon SS which is supposedly a new sequel for the first time on a HOME console, looks crappier than SM on emulator and than Let's Go!, it looks barely updated or different from SM, and this is why most people I know don't plan on getting it or even were more appealed by Let's Go!

What is want to say is that those 16 million people still bought the game on 3ds. So I will assume what you’re saying a majority is the whole gaming community? I guess I can be counted as fanboys if that’s what your narrative is.Yes of course you will...I'm talking about the majority of people, not fanboys/girls.

Switch’s software momentum are not slowing anytime soon, different from hardware sales. Attach rate is ridiculous, and at no point your arbitrary evidence will support your looming prophecy.
What does this mean? Assuming you're not talking from your ass. Also, you may want to call me a fanboy but that doesn't mean I want to associate myself as such. Not cool being triggered and feeling entitled just by some reply post.Indeed, and like any fanboy you will wait until the obvious and predictable result comes out.
Remote play is limited because it requires you to have 2 consoles plus a stable internet connection. It's a nice feature, but it's not as simple to use as the native hardware of platforms like the Switch.
The difference is that portable versions of console games in the past were more often than not, custom built versions that barely resembled their big screen counterparts. Vita tried, but poor software sales and limited audience killed it. Switch is the first one to really get it right because it also doubles as an actual console as well, thus expanding its utility.
Well as I said, Switch versions of console games aren't completely seperate games that hardly play like the bigger versions. They ARE the bigger versions, they're just downgraded to fit on the specs of the system. Mobile technology still isn't up to consoles, but it's come a long way since the DS and PSP days, where the vast majority of modern engines can run on mobile platforms, allowing for easy porting. And if the sales of these games on Switch are anything to go by, people will buy the Switch version if they can take it with them.
Of course not, because the Switch will still get plenty of the lower-teir multiplatform titles even going into next gen as those don't have nearly as much graphical or computational fidelity, and are thus easier to port. Multiplatform ownership is a thing, especially increasingly so as the market begins to fragment. People can own a PS5 and a Switch.
I would love to love the switch, but there's a software drought.

I might buy another Switch soon. Should I wait until after E3 to see if new hardware is announced though? Also, what are some of the store games? When I had one a couple of years ago there wasn't much. I'd absolutely love it if there were games like Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and the Punch-Out series on there.
If they keep on pulling what they did with last year and this year with nothing but a drought for like 2 seasons and attempt to pump out something in the holidays you can kiss thay 20 million sales goodby 2 times in row.
It is funny, after the ps3, there was a real worry amongst ps staff that 4 would be their last console if they messed up according to,shuei. Same thing at nintendo after the wiiu. Both companies hit it out of the park with their next consoles. Moral: console makers do their best work when scared?
Still, 3ds>>>>>>switch because of streetpass
Ps3 fat >>>>>>>>>ps4 because of sacd and bc.

" doubles as an actual console " Not really, it has a HDMI out... PSP had a AV out...so you are not really talking about something brand new, you are talking about the same feature, different system ie moot. ie already established and could be argued for many portables. You can play a smart phone on the tv btw.
I just don’t use my switch as much as I would like. The games seem to be far too sparse for me. I’m STILL waiting in Metroid Prime 4/Metroid Trilogy... Still waiting on Pikmin 4... Still waiting on the next re-release of Mario, or Mario Maker, or Zelda...
It just seems that the gaps between big releases, for my tastes personally anyway, seem too far
I would love to love the switch, but there's a software drought.

Not like the Xbox and PS are full of MUST HAVE titles so far this year either.
If you honestly believe this, you must really not know what games have come out since the beginning of the year. I assume you're going to take the fallacious position that "third parties don't count"? If so I'd like to know why not seeing as they're games to play on PS4 & XB1 that aren't on Switch? Not like the Xbox and PS are full of MUST HAVE titles so far this year either.
I see this more often than I’d like. I think of Nintendo in the 7th gen and overall, their output was incredible with something for everyone. You had NSMBW, Mario Galaxy, Skyward Sword, Metroid Prime 3, THREE amazing Excite entries, Punch-Out, and countless other amazing games. There was a period after the N64 that I lost my faith to Nintendo and in fact I got angry for their unfulfilled promises, with Gamecube it was a reconciliation because it is an excellent console, with Wii I get angry again from Nintendo totally for its sholveware.
WiiU I never had it to be expensive but it is good console.
Now with Switch I love the console, so I think it will be much better than Wii in terms of sales.
I love Nintendo but this whole thread is such a circlejerk.
"Mr. Burns, your campaign seems to have the momentum
of a runaway freight train.
Why are you so popular?"
I'm also wondering how well the Switch is really doing seeing as it's technically replaced their home & portable systems. Are they actually selling 2 system's worth of Switches?
I assume you didn't name any MUST HAVEs from first 5 months of 2019 on the Xbox/PS because there aren't any.If you honestly believe this, you must really not know what games have come out since the beginning of the year. Ever heard of Sekiro, resident evil 2, ace combat 7, kh3, dmc5? I'd have a hard time seeing how anyone could argue that none of these are worth playing. If you only play on switch ya I'd say this year has been lack luster so far but not the case for the other consoles and pc.

Yeah I wouldn't say any of those are MUST HAVES. I have a PS4. I passed on all those.
What do you even play? If none of these are worth your incredible standards than I'd imagine you haven't played a switch game in like 2 years
You're more than welcome to discuss stuff you don't like about the Switch.
