Even worse, most of the time people act as if the oppressed group in this situation should be the ones magically fixing this.

What the hell? If there's a big person holding a smaller person in a chokehold, you don't expect the smaller person in the chokehold to somehow fix or resolve the situation. It's almost entirely in the hands of the oppressor.
