If Nintendo was smart, they'd release a Pokemon Brain Training game.
And then promote it as a rerelease of a rerelease of a 20 year old game with petcaring minigames..

Go go Mysterious Dungeon.

That's either brilliant or terrible, and I haven't decided which yet.

Trust me, it's freaking brilliant. Pokemon Brain Training, FTW. What Japanese school girl could resist being taught math by Pikachu? And, what Japanese man could resist Misty, dressed as a teacher, on the game's cover?

Call me Nintendo.

Sold!

Thats actually so brilliant, I wonder why it hasnt happened. Replace spinning head guy with koffing and you have 500,000 on day one.

The DS lineup from this week until the end of the year is just amazing. About 8-10 games average per week including killer aps like Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Mushiking, DQ Slime Mori Mori, Brain Training 2, Mario & Luigi etc. etc.

Actually, I think Nintendo would be smart to release Nintendokemon. Imagine a Nintendogs with with Pokemon instead. This + including a fleshed-out RPG where you can use your trained Pokemon to battle online against other trainers. DS sales + 100000000000000000000000000

Yeah, they're really wielding quite a big stick this year, at least in Japan. This week's the beginning of a very lucrative month and a half for the DS.

Wow, Talkman mega bomba. I guess retailers really didn't want to take a chance on a non-game that was more expensive then the rest of the PSP line-up.

I thought Brain Training PSP didn't have legs..!

What happened there?
Well, see, it's like Wolverine. Its legs were ripped from it and tossed about four miles off, but once it found and reattached them, it hit its stride.

I think Juice mentioned in the Talkman thread that it`s sold out across Japan, don`t think retailers bought enough. They`re new to all this non-game business and can`t forcast popularity well.

I know, that's what I said... it seems retailers don't want to take a chance on a non-game more expensive then the entire PSP line-up.

Wow, 8 titles in the top 10 are on a Nintendo system. Nice.

Hopefully Mario Party 7's sales are far inferior to Mario Party 6, so that when they do MP8, it will hopefully be a game worth getting.

No one posted the latest chart?

http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/ranking/ori/game/game_d.html

I'm too lazy to translate prperly, but it's Naruto 4 in the lead, followed by the DS and GBA Pokemon, Gundam, Asobi Taizen, Brain Training DS, J League Winning 11 9, Mario Party 7, Yawaraka, and Tamagotchi.
2 Gamecube games in the top ten is scary. I am really starting to wonder how well the Revolution is going to do over there.

They should launch a Brain training game, that syncs up with a new Brain training game for the DS on lauch day. I wonder how sick the sales would be for that sucker?

Wow, 3 GCN games in the top 20. When was the last time that happened. I think it might have been either when Pokemon XD, Mario Baseball, and DDR w/ Mario all came out. Or even last Christmas.

Why is Naruto coming out on a non-thursday release?

Sega Brain Training has decent legs, but it's not even gonna come close to sales of the DS version.

TalkMan tanking basically wraps it up for PSP this year in Japan. That was the system's last big hope for the year.

Well there is another Ape Escape coming out, and Exit might do okay. But that is about it. Nothing is going to stand in the way of the DS this holiday season (in Japan) except maybe the 360 at launch. Slime Mori Mori 2, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Mushiking, Pokemon Dungeon, Mario & Luigi 2, and Brain Training 2. I cringe at the thought of what all those can do.

Doesn't the naruto anime air on tuesday in Japan, or is that the manga release?

Either way, Tomy sure must be happy with the success of Naruto on Gamecube, I'm the GC versions are making their way to the US.

How well does Rachet and Clank do over in Japan. I want to see how well it matches up against the competition. Mega Man Battle Network 6 is coming out Animal Crossing and One Piece so that should be a huge week. I don't know how well Soul Caliber or Sonic Rush are going to do.

I thought Animal Crossing was coming out on the Dec. 5th.

Or is that for U.S.?

Has it been a year since the ds release? If so, what are the comparisons in Japanese sales compared to other consoles and portables in both software and hardware, because it seems to have got off to an unbelievable start.
