Oh, yes, I agree, 100% an ending can it be parodical, it can be satirical and it can be done in a joking manner, and it can bring a different more light-hearted note to the character, like the TTT2 endings, most of them were parodical and light-hearted in nature, but this is not what this is about, for better or worse this is not what this ending and this character motivation is about....

But in my view it seems so ridiculous (it's non-canon, it basically goes "I'm making everything great", while having nothing with Jax's character and his actual story, it uses the word "woke") that it seems like a parody. I don't think it can really transfer to reality, it's possible to view it as Jax taking a stereotypical "woke" attitude. Don't take it seriously.

Sometimes I wonder why the lunatics on the other website call here a a white supremacists stronghold. I know it is totally biased because they can't deal with opinion different from theirs, even slightly different ones.

It's okay to think the ending is bad, but it really shouldn't be taken seriously. Also, the "white man" thing in the OP is irrelevant and just makes the thread stink of ideology.

Really, keep a civil tone. None come out looking good once one just attacks another. Come with constructive criticisms, there's no point getting aggressive about something that requires a bit of levity. There's not a thread that talks about the mechanics of MK11, that the characters are cool, that they're excited [past the initial CGI trailer]. It's all about too much clothing, "burka kombat", "SJW", "Woke", and the like. Politics, or rather political identity culture, is oozing its way into basically every gaming thread, and it really sucks. I have no problem with him not wanting to support the game, feeling it's out of character [if it's that way in the game, I haven't seen it yet since the game isn't out, and I wouldn't necessarily argue against it being out of his character [Jax has never been about this].

Seems a bit cringy. Having him don leopard print clothing seems so stereotypical. It's like putting a Scotsman in a kilt or an I̶n̶d̶i̶a̶n̶ Native American in a headdress. If his character showed any inclinations of that before it's fine but right now it just seems like there playing off the success of Black Panther. I would argue most people that play fighting games don't care about the mechanics of the game and just want to play a fun, gory fighter without being talked down to (regardless, there *are* talks of mechanics in various MK11 threads so please actually read them). Sadly, with every passing news release on the game, it is clear that the developers had an agenda to push and people are very tired of it.

Gamers just want to play games. They don't want some silly goober trying to use a popular franchise as a stepping board to spout their personal ideologies.

Well, honestly MK sucks mechanic-wise, so I can see why there's no thread about that.

I can also see the problem with things becoming political, especially since we split off the political sub-forum, but Enygger_Tzu lessened very unnecessary aggressively slant in the OP and accepted some of the criticism. Now it's functionally more about the characterization of Jax and how the ending feels ridiculously off, I'd say. At least that's how I interpret how he has articulated what he feels about it.
Point was just that passive-aggressive "checklist" replies does no one any good. You wouldn't like if someone did that in a thread you started, I imagine. That said, I've never really had anything against the cultural criticism threads on GAF and it was bad when people got really aggressive about them. But I can get the understanding of thread titles with "hot takes" or an overabundance of politically slanted gaming threads.

The ending is kind of whack but it is ultimately not canon so it's not a massive deal. I'm not too sure how it's character assassination though. I really don't remember Jax having too much of a character to begin with in MK9 & X. We in no way could judge is opinion on this kind of thing, at least.

The issue here is that you don't exactly need to be a purple haired, screaming Tumblrette to conclude, when presented with the chance to go back in time, that stopping the past slavery of your people is a decent idea. If there was a Jewish character who went back and murdered Hitler, I doubt anyone would really point it out.
