That's it?
I get the population thing, but games that are only on the Windows Store should not be diluted.
If there are people out there who refuse to play forza horizon 3 because it isn't on steam are just missing out on a top game for petty reasons.
Well it makes sense for MS because they make windows eh!So does Sony and Nintendo, but we know they won't.
Not anymore,
Injection directx (or any other api) hooking, modifying the files all work on uwp.
People thought injection was locked for instance, but it turns out you just need a different method of acquiring the process. There are some special considerations, and tricks (for example the app you try to inject might be suspended so you need to consider that scenario).
It will be even easier in the Fall Creators Update, because the app will receive the capability to declare an executable for the system, so you will be able to find running processes by name.

Nice! Hope it has cross play!

1 - Fixed. Apps can use double buffering and even disable vsync even in windowed mode
2 - IIRC, Rise of Tomb Raider had SLI support (albeit bug) right of the bat, but it has been improved/fixed now
3 - Gsync and Freesync are now fully supported
4 - Overlays and Injection actually just works, it just needs to change the method of acquiring the process (some would use the exclusive full screen access, and other's would grabbing the window, since uwp doesn't use exclusive full screen the first doesn't work, and the second because the window in a uwp application is not owned by the process (for uwp the window is a facility the system provides)
Here's hoping it detects my Xbox One controller unlike the Win10 store version.
They did put Quantum Break on Steam.
It works fine until a match starts, then it's just ... stops. That's weird.
I assume all my paid dlc won't carry over, right?![]()
This actually makes a lot of sense.

Phantom Dust as wellSo after this the only good games being held hostage by the Windows Store are Gears 4, Halo Wars 2, and FH3. Halo Wars 2 apparently is on the way out though.
Phantom Dust as well
I have 24 hours locked in and $25 spent for support. Steam would give it a bigger boost thoughYeah, a free game is being "held hostage" because you people don't want to play it elsewhere but steam.

You can play it for free on xbox too.
like requiring double a game's size in order to download and install
Sure I'll just go and get my free XBox.
Is that a thing, COD didn't work that way.
Tough luck bud. You can still get it for free for a xbox account and redeem it later if you ever buy one. Fact remains that the game is still free on two platforms and its not being held hostage to the w10 store in any sense - unless microsoft is the only one not allowed to have any kind of exclusive service to their products anymore.

So can we expect them to abandoned Windows store exclusivity? I imagine they aren't happy with how many people just ignore their store. Honestly I don't think at this point they expect us to buy into their garbage storefront.
You're being purposely obtuse. It's already been stated several times that it's the Windows Store itself that is the problem, not the fact it isn't on Steam. Price isn't the issue. Not owning an Xbox One isn't the issue. But keep on bringing up non-relevant issues that are the real problem to our motivations.
No, i'm not. If the windows store is the problem, the game is free for xbox, which doesn't use the w10 store. If owning an xbox isn't the problem, then what is the issue now?
They're not giving their free game (that they made free to bring people to their services - xbox and w10store - to begin with) to steam and let them take 30% of microtransations just because people dislike the w10 store. That's common sense.
This is a discussion of PC client/storefront(s). What does a console have to do with this? Nothing.
While that is true, even if it weren't, PC gamers would be averse to using the windows store. UWP prevents any kind of modification to the game which is a massive deterrent. Many people also still have the bad taste of GFWL in their mouths.
