LTTP: Bloodborne

Personally I think the base game didn't have any bosses that really pushed the combat systems to its limits. Closest thing is the second to last boss but even that felt a little wanting. Be sure to get the DLC though! 3 of the best designed bosses in the entire series easily
 
Every time I see "LTTP: Bloodborne" I'm scared it will be some Op saying "THIS GAME IS SHIT, CAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE SAYING IT'S THE BEST GAME EVER" etc. And nope....still nope.

OP, the game's amazing, make your own build, try every weapon you find and use the one you are more confortable with and not the one people says "it's da best"
Because they will be lying if they are not saying Threaded Cane
 
I platinumed the game with my Chikage built recently. In my opinion the most badass weapon in the game. I +10ned it along with Evelyn and Simon's Bowblade.

I really reallly hope a successor is in the works.

I agree, best and most satisfaying weapon in the game. Used it in my last build too.

You have one of two options:

A) Start over with all the knowledge you have gained up to this point and then summon someone in and get the job done.

B) Try and get the boss beat yourself.

If you decide option A, hit me up. I love co-op in this game.

Can't he also farm enough echoes to buy more insight? Or is that not an option? Could be making this up, but I feel like there's another way.

Unfortunately you cannot buy insight with echoes. You can find items on the ground (Madman's Knowledge, Great One's Wisdom) that you can use to get 1 or 3 insight respectively. Although I do believe the earliest you can pick them up (specifically Madman's Knowledge) is in Cathedral Ward.

Although having said that, if he can stumble into the other boss in the area, then he'll get insight from that alone and then be able to summon.

I'm all about the Rakuyo, personally. With the Rakuyo and 50 Skill even the hardest bosses in the game get completely melted, it's awesome.

Definitely Ludwig gaining his sanity, standing upright covering half of his beast face with the moonlight sword. But the 2 things that make the moment even more powerful: the hype music that plays, and the description of the sword which in addition to the lore pieces from main game, help us piece together what might have happened to the Chruch's strongest beast hunter.

One of the most memorable gaming moments of all times.
 
Hated this game. Got to Father Glascione or whatever his name is (the fight in the graveyard where he transforms into some wolf thing at around 50% HP), beat him, then decided that the game isn't for me. Too many questionable design choices.

Dark Souls, then Bloodborne is probably a good way to go through these games. The best ones first.

I played the game right after release and I had fun, but I kind of stopped playing because of other games and at times I felt emotionally stressed by the game and sold it. However I never played a souls game before and having this in mind I think I was pretty good. I think I beat the first 4 bosses with the second try.

The last weeks I was in the mood for such a game and bought Souls 3. And damn, while getting into it, I couldn't let go of many things I liked a lot more in Bloodborne. Especially the combat is way better.

As a result I just bought bloodborne again. I want to get into it again!

, probably 7th try.

Blood-starved Beast
, first try.

... just died to
Vicar Amelia
on my first attempt, will be going back this evening. :)

Amazing design, great atmosphere, and utterly compelling in a way that games rarely attain. Will I actually beat this one after playing DS1 up to Sen's Fortress and bouncing off? We'll see.

Personally i don't mind farming in this game, once you beat
the Witches of Hemwick
you can just spawn in that area and go from there to
the great cathedral after killing Amelia
and with each trip you should harvest a ton of vials, bullets and echos.

What was your strategy on beating cleric the first go?
 
Sawspear for life. It's like a faster cleaver with a better moveset. It gets overshadowed in end game though, <3 Chikage and Rakuyo.
 
Awesome game!
I haven't played any Souls games when I bought BB. It was hard and kinda frustrating at first but then when I started to understand the gameplay it turned to feel great playing it.

Got the platinum too :)
 
Now try Bubble Bobble.

I got partway into the DLC and then put it down for Sleeping Dogs and the Witcher 3. While I finished the first and loved it, the second suffered from playing Bloodborne. The grim setting seemed too light, the combat too slow, and the enemies too tame.

I think I may try a strength build before I go back into my skill build.
 
Wait, people find Blood Starved Beast harder than other bosses?

I mean, it took me 3 tries, by no means was it easy and i had an old hunter by my side, but nothing about it felt significantly harder than any other boss in the game as far as i am at(im in the nightmare of mensis right now, area with the spiders).

Nah, you can find them in the sewers.

It's weird going back to this after spending so long away. Wasn't there supposed to be some type of Return To Yarnham event as well?
 
I bought Bloodborne on launch, played through the first two bosses and then dropped it for something else at the time.

I knew that it was a great game, but something distracted me for some reason.

I'm currently finishing my play through and am close to the end. It is very easily one of my top 5 games of the generation. And I have a vitriolic hate for Dark Souls 1 and 2.

There is so much to love about Bloodborne.

It's funny, I'm so close to the end and just now had my first PVP experience. It was intense.

Hit and away (...this is honestly my go to tactic for every Souls game) while occasionally hitting with Blunderbuss trying to parry, failing, and going back to hit and away. I was kind of okay towards the end when it became routine.
 
The difficulty of the bosses are subjective. I remember people complaining about
Dark Beast Paarl
when the game first came out and I beat him on my first try at level 33.

BSB was two tries for me and (DLC boss)
Ludwig
as well.

Honestly I found Mr. Flies-around-and-shoots-you-with-a-billion-swords-on-a-snowy-rooftop the hardest :P

That guy was straight up a Kingdom Hearts boss.

The first time I encountered him I beat him just by sticking near his feet, only move away for the grab attacks that do a lot of damage. Just kept slashing and healing and accidentally beat him the first time, only planned on getting the insight and levelling up lol.

So you quit after clearing what's essentially the tutorial area? What design choices did you find "questionable?"

Just to warn you ahead of time: Buy Blood Vials with any extra Blood Echoes you have when you visit the Hunter's Dream. It's more efficient than farming them off of enemy drops. Even if you need to farm for Blood Vials, make sure you are using the Blood Echoes you get to buy them.

The Central Yarham lamp with the 2 Ogre looking guys and the Herwick Charnel Lane, or whatever, lamp with the fat Knights are the best places to farm blood vials if you run out of them.

Saw Spear is amazing in PvP. I lost count of the number of times the short to extended transformation attack won an invasion for me.

I would argue there is no tutorial area in the game, and if anything the end of the "tutorial" area would be the bridge since you need to fight the cleric beast to unlock leveling up.
