The difficulty of the bosses are subjective. I remember people complaining aboutwhen the game first came out and I beat him on my first try at level 33.Dark Beast Paarl
BSB was two tries for me and (DLC boss)as well.Ludwig
Honestly I found Mr. Flies-around-and-shoots-you-with-a-billion-swords-on-a-snowy-rooftop the hardest
That guy was straight up a Kingdom Hearts boss.
I would argue there is no tutorial area in the game, and if anything the end of the "tutorial" area would be the bridge since you need to fight the cleric beast to unlock leveling up.
You actually don't, there's a Madman's knowledge in the sewers, guarded by some rats.

You have one of two options:
A) Start over with all the knowledge you have gained up to this point and then summon someone in and get the job done.
B) Try and get the boss beat yourself.
If you decide option A, hit me up. I love co-op in this game.
Edit: Further clarification below.
Wait, insight it's what triggers leveling?
Huh, didn't realize, i found (and killed) the cleric beast before venturing into the sewer, so i had not gotten any insight prior to that and assumed the boss encounter was what triggered leveling up rather than the insight.

I'm another new player having picked up the GotY edition a couple weeks ago.
Currently nearing the end of the main game and ready to dive into the DLC before the last two fights.
Now, with the wealth of DLC weapons, I'm undecided on what to use. I'm currently 40 STR 40 SKL, basically just benefitting Ludwig's. Am I currently locked out of using different types of weapons? I really like the idea of Rakuyo, yet it seems a weapon one should have dumped everything into skill for. Also, what I read seems to put emphasis on it being a PVP weapon. What are your experiences with it in PVE?
Used my stock of Molotovs (probably about 5 at that point,) kept my distance, completely ignored parrying, wailed on him with the Hunter Axe. Totally almost died, and ran through all 20 blood vials. Also cursed out the terrible camera, and wondered if that alone would put me off of the game. What was your strategy on beating cleric the first go?
Impossible.~How the hell did you do it? I almost throwed my PS4 from the window trying to kill that |@#|@|#

I have Dark Souls 1 on steam, Bloodborne GOTY edition, and I plan on getting Witcher 3 GOTY in the next steam sale. In what order do I play. I'm itching to play Bloodborne, but I don't want it to ruin my experience playing Dark Souls. As for Witcher 3, I hated the combat and inventory in 2 and I don't want the combat gameplay in the other games to ruin the experience playing Witcher 3.
Any suggestions?

Bloodborne would be nothing without its challenging bosses, while Wicher 3 could live without any fighting at all, and run purely on story and characters. Honestly never understood why the two games are ever compared.

This ... I've seen a lot of things said about W3, good and bad, but this may be the single worst opinion I've seen on it yet.
Purely on story and characters?
Waaat?

I loved DSII and I'm not a Soulsborne fan. Great game with a very real Castlevania vibe, specially the later parts. I recomend it 100%. Never played the expansion though.. I was considering picking up Dark Souls II remastered for PS4 next, even though a lot of fans seem to think it sucks. It's not that bad, is it?
Yup first area. All the speed runners grab that and use it.Nah, you can find them in the sewers.
It's weird going back to this after spending so long away. Wasn't there supposed to be some type of Return To Yarnham event as well?
distinct exaggeration, obviously theres more to bloodborne than bosses, and more to W3 than its writing. But the games cearly focus on very different things to the point where the bloodborne vs witcher3 comparisons make very little sense.

Yeah, I read online that you have to kill the cleric beast to level up, so I spent about 30 minutes fighting him before I could finally do that. Locking leveling up behind a boss (or in this case, getting a piece of Insight) is dumb as hell though, and one of the problems I have with the game.

Pro tip:
USE

That's a weird way to spell the Kirkhammer.

I knew that poison was a big part of that fight, so I bought the Gascoigne set. Other than that, similar to the Cleric: kept a bit of distance, and punished the hell out of it (using the Kirkhammer) when it missed. Actually parried in this fight, but only for the final blow.
Slaughtered the first prey, not before escaping a deadly pig. Fucking terrifying, holy fuck!
Holy fuck this game is too good. It's better than I expected, I love it. The world is so scary and beautiful to explore and I'm finally getting the hang of leveling and improving weapons. Love this
I think you missed an optional prey before that.Slaughtered the first prey, not before escaping a deadly pig. Fucking terrifying, holy fuck!

Reload the game and climb back up the ladder to where he was. The loot will be at the top there waiting for you. You also want that loot as it allows you to buy one of the best weapons in the game () from the messengers.the stake driver
