Everytime I see a LTTP Bloodborne thread my mind is sitting on the edge of; should I start again or not?

I defeated Father Gascoigne and never looked back since. I don't know why. Perhaps the sweating and fury of killing a boss pisses me off too much.

I really should just pick it up again, huh?

I thought the same way as you just last week but I thought why not, I'll try it again. I fell in love. I'm not too far yet but this game is just so satisfying to play once it clicks. I say go for it. If you still can't get into it, so what? You've only lost a few hours of time, (which can be a lot for some, but I digress) it's not the end of the world.

Your attack stat distribution is a bit awkward, but you'll find a weapon in the DLC that fits it perfectly after the first boss. It's also my favorite weapon in the game.

Lots of getting good at the dodge timing, and Kirkhammerswording her when she whiffed. That feeling of rolling/dodging through three of her attacks straight, and then retaliating? YUP.

I have to say, the "hitting specific limbs causes stagger/stun/other statuses" mechanic is awesome. Hitbox stuff is also great: knowing that if I use the overhead swing, I'm likely to hit the face and cause a mini-stagger, and adapting my strategy to incorporate that... lots of fun. This was the first boss that I really felt like I was learning their attacks and movements, and switching up my approach.

Brute forcing through and just getting Rom usually worked best for me. It's insanely tedious to keep attacking spiders every attempt.
If you're having trouble you could summon someone to help distract them and break them up

Move fast, attack Rom and ignore the little spiders.

It's only worth going out of your way to kill them if they did their dive attack and have their abdomen completely exposed, in which case you can kill them in one or two hits. Otherwise, run/dodge past them and focus on Rom.

I've gotten the Platinum twice and Rom is still a roadblock for me. It's one of the few bosses I find personally to be some slightly unfair bullshit.

I think its one of the few bosses where its pretty easy to beat without getting hit once. As long as you play cautiously and kill all the small spiders. The fight just isn't fun though, its no wonder everyone prefers to summon and be done with it.

To me it's best to kill only the first wave, after that just avoid them.

I keep trying to get back into this but it's been so long since I last played it that I keep forgetting the controls and get wrecked by basic enemies. I then just get frustrated and turn it back off. Guess I need to have more patience with it.

The only reason why this stupid boss is even remotely threatening is that bullshit homing laser meteor that it loves to spam at mid-distance.

The chalice-dungeon version 1-hits me with 30 vitality.

I'm finding combat really punishing if you don't dodge right away or spam it.

You can also circle around and hit them from behind for a similar amount of damage.

this fight took me FOREVER until i noticed theres a summon outside of the fight. made it so much easier. make sure to have a ton of antidotes too because youll need them. enjoy

I love this game, guys. Tbh I'm scared that Breath of the Wild ain't gonna stack up this is coming from a longtime Zelda fan. Still getting it day 1, but this game is occupying lots of my free time haha and I absolutely love it. I'm considering pausing doing the traditional quest for now and just doing chalice dungeons for the time being. I wanna grind a bit and get some new weapons and items!

It's not a bad idea to take a break and do some chalice dungeons throughout the game. It's better than saving it all for the end. You can also skip it altogether if you're not having fun.

Haha I believe it. I beat one chalice dungeon, levels 1-3, got a few more ahead of me. Love the whole design of them, being able to pick and choose which to begin and when basically at will is super cool and fun.

Gascoigne gave me the most trouble out of any of the bosses in the entire game. I think it's because he's the first fight that really breaks you out of the Souls familiarity of sitting back and waiting for an opening (you have to make your own openings with him)

I found Paarl to be of varying difficulty depending entirely on your weapon. He was a complete cakewalk with the Cane Whip, but a lot harder with others. Also like others have said it's possible to fight him really really early which can ruin your day.

When fighting tough versions of this fight at half health in root chalice dungeons, I have found taking out the spiders makes it MUCH easier. If you're having lots of trouble, I would suggest doing that. Each attempt will take much longer though. I never had any trouble with this fight in the main game, so I never really had to try different tactics there

I went through so many Chalice Dungeons that I'm sitting at level 122 and haven't beaten the game yet. (I'm two bosses from the end)
