An island girl moves to Japan and faces the wonders of Japan.

It's pretty nice where we have spans of pages without much dialogue. Seems to be pretty nice.

World Trigger got licensed in Italy, so I'll get to find out why some of you like it.
Also Atsushi Kaneko's stuff (Wet Moon, Deathco, Bambi) which they're making it sounds like it's something important (i'll check them out, the style looks interesting). I'm more hyped for Magi - Sinbad no Bouken, The Demon Prince of the Momochi House (I love Aya Shouto's stuff), Aku No Kyouten and Nozoki Ana though.

Looking for a Father 1-30

What a cute story. The art style is a bit simplistic, but it definitely works. And Ha-Yeon is so adorable. Although, I wish the series hadn't been focused on a stupid misunderstanding for 20 chapters, because now I've run out of chapters to read and I'm thirsty for more.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good, self-contained manga? I'm thinking of something like Solanin. I want to read something but don't really have money to spend on a series right now. I like slice of life a lot, but I'm open to anything.

You can get the whole of Azumanga Daioh in one volume.

And I should too.

Shamo end was so fucking bad.

The whole manga when to shit once they lost the author, well at least the art was still great.

Still that fucking ending, doesn't even make any sense what so fucking ever.

Hey they called emergency services and I'm bleeding out I should wait for OH WAIT I'LL WALK INTO A NEX FOREST AND DIE ISNTEAD.

Like seriously, wtf?

Have you read Welcome to the NHK?

Yuusen Shoujo: Plug-in Girl 1-14 (END)

By this point, I'm beginning to regret throwing large swathes of series onto my backlog without any real kind of quality control. There were robots and shit. Deservedly axed.

Imawabi no Dakini 1-15 (END)
Better. Standard spiritual monster hunting manga in terms of its setting and plot, but the art style was one of the most appealing I've come across recently. Less deservedly axed.

Ask A Huge Battleship for Lovecraftian gothic stuff.

Warning: It'll probably come with cannibalism, decapitation, and/or lolis.

I guess it's an improvement over you seeing me as the resident porn guy.

I came to point where when it comes to manga I rather have a shitty story then bad pacing. Nothing worse then when you are reading a manga that has a great story, but the pacing is shit. It's so aggravating!

Psychometrer 01

For most people, this series would be kinda akward to get into, because it's a sequel to a series that's incomplete for most people. (Sequel to Psychometrer Eiji, which has 25 volumes)

I've been waiting for this sequel for a long, long time now, ever since the original series ended in 2000. (15 effing years!)

Sometimes, it amazes me that this person is also the same person who's also writing Kindaichi. The quality of writing in the Psychometrer series personally has always been so much more riveting than the kind of crap he churns out for Kindaichi these days.

I've read the first 5 volumes (it's licensed over here) and I like it, though I never got the feeling it was a sequel to some other manga.
First volume gets depressing quick though.

Which one? The Mobieus Ring or Grafitti Killer?

Also, yeah, in some ways, Pyschometrer is kinda a semi-reboot/sequel, because it's a case flick like Conan/Kindaichi. There are major villains from the first series who's plot lines isn't completely closed yet, and those are the sequel hooks.

First volume gets depressing quick though.

The fact that this series isn't afraid to drop the hammer is what makes me enjoy it more.

I mean, the villains in Pyschometrer, true to the name, are all psychos.
