Just to let you know the Free Game Promotion expires on July 30th.
If you want that free game, better grab Mario Kart 8 and register it at Nintendo ASAP.
IGN has reportedly contacted Nintendo and received Confirmation on the 2 Million Units Sold.

First, it's not Christmas. Second, MK8 shows no sign of slow down, still on top of online retailer rankings, with reports of the game being sold out at some places. Its an extremely viral MP title, which will sell 4X more than 3D World in the long run.not that different?
This is a very strange way to spin 3rd party support into a slight against something, especially considering they got the ball rolling a year later and are still thundering ahead with no radical difference in the number of exclusives. The Wii U is the darling GAF deserves, and the darling GAF needs. We have two systems sharing most of the same games, but the lowly little Wii U has sat in the back of the room, quietly building up a strong stable of exclusives and then impressed even further at E3 with a showing of an even stronger future as we move forward. All without online subscriptions, a cheaper price and full backwards compatibility. No, it will not be a roaring success, but it sure as hell is shaping up into an amazing system with plenty to offer that can't be had elsewhere.

Are you suggesting that WiiU due too MK will sell closer too 30 millions?
IGN article talks about sell-through. Sell-though = sold to customers, right?
Yes.
Sold-in = sold into the retail channel.
Sold-through = sold all the way through the retail channel to consumers.

I think Zelda U will do similar numbers, but of course time will tell.
Are you suggesting his supposed suggestion?
How on earth are you reaching that number based on his claims. Not that I neccessarily agree with those either; I think SM3DW will continue to sell a bit more as well, and even otherwise, 4x would be an extremely generous prediction for MK8.
But the last figure for 3D World is at 2.17M. 4X is 8.86M. How the hell do you get that to close to 30M?
They need to expand the user base, Mario Kart 8 is a great start, they need to keep the momentum going ahead.I think Zelda U will do similar numbers, but of course time will tell.
No way. Mario Kart is on an entirely different level.I think Zelda U will do similar numbers, but of course time will tell.
It will
about the same rate as 3dworld then? it was 1.94 million in about 3-3.5 weeks

So, it was very front-loaded then. 1.2M within the first couple of days and 0.8M for the rest.
I don't know why you're posting it either, not sure why an exclusive to 3rd party ratio has any bearing on anything.Ask me how many third party games I buy on consoles nowadays.
Anybody who denies the Wii U's library of exclusives positively dwarfs the XBone or PS4's at this point in time is kidding themselves.
Then again, I don't really give a shit. I just buy what I like. I don't even know why I'm posting this.
Well, that's good for you, but I'm still not sure why those games not being on those platforms is a good thing. What about for consumers who like everything in one place, which there is arguably a lot of?It is a downside though, I'm not buying a PS4 or Xbone yet because I can already get the games I want on PC, and I know many will be available on PC.

Released 6 years ago, Mario Kart Wii is still #58 best selling game on amazon. Understand it didn't sell 35 millions in 3 weeks,"very front loaded" is not something that characterizes this series. So, it was very front-loaded then. 1.2M within the first couple of days and 0.8M for the rest.

That's a great start. Mario Kart 8 confirms its phenomenon status vs games like Mario 3D World, it's a total different beast.
You're right. Yet MK8 is a game we build parties on, I've seen 3 friends buy a Wii U after our sessions already. These guys had tried 3D World, and with no intention to buy the console afterwards. I can also see kids reactions with MK8, it's the world cup, we have lots of dinners these days with friends who bring their kids. MK8 drives them completely nuts. Reactions to this game are unlike anything I've seen with this system. While this is true - if they had bundled 3D World with the system as well having a free game promotion it also would have sold more. Not too mention that 3DWorld is/was going against two new console launches.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Gamecube 2.
