Having just rewatched the trailer on my monitor in 1080p HD, I am super hyped for the movie yet again. Super interesting with the Natascha Romanov flashback, and I liked the little we saw of Cap's fight.

Looks like hulk was put in the friend zone based on those blood shot eyes-

So people mentioning The Red Room and having more of a Black Widow backstory is pretty much a lock. I had no idea what The Red Room was but when I looked it up I found this:

A revised, retconned origin establishes her as being raised from very early childhood by the U.S.S.R.'s "Black Widow Ops" program, rather than solely by Ivan Petrovitch.[8] Petrovitch had taken her to Department X, with other young female orphans, where she was brainwashed, and trained in combat and espionage at the covert "Red Room" facility. There, she is biotechnologically and psycho-technologically enhanced—an accounting that provides a rationale for her unusually long and youthful lifespan. During that time she had some training under Winter Soldier, and the pair even had a short romance.[9]

Each Black Widow is deployed with false memories to help ensure her loyalty. Romanova eventually discovers this, including the fact that she had never, as she had believed, been a ballerina. She further discovers that the Red Room is still active as "2R".

Which completely explains the ballerina scene from the first trailer. Man, I'm hype as hell now.

I hope Ant-Man has cameo in this. Like mid-credit replaying a dramatic scene from the movie, zoom-in and there's Ant-Man going "This is awkward" and runs off.

Nice find, dude!

I wonder if they'll retcon Pretovitch to be Von Strucker....

Just watched the official trailer for the first Avengers and Loki was in there for 2 seconds so I'm confused on what you're looking for

The villain really doesn't matter when it comes to Avengers movies because it's not like the target mainstream audience is going to give a shit about whatever new bizarre comic book character is being introduced. Unless it's a character that's somewhat been established in the first film, all new characters are equally bizarre and alien to a large section of the audience. Why would people want to see a trailer focused on a new character that's foreign to them? It's obvious they'd prefer to see more glimpses of the characters they got to know in all the prior films. The best way to do that would be to show them duking it out because that conflict already has a frame of reference familiar to the largest possible audience for this movie. While there are definitely snippets of conflict between the new Ultron villain and various familiar Avengers, the primary focus of the first two trailers is centered around the Hulk vs Iron Man fight. For the casual audience, that's huge! It's a brand new matchup we hadn't seen in the prior film. With how popular Hulk was in the previous movie and Iron Man being the MCU poster boy, it makes perfect sense to lure in casual fans with selected scenes from a momentous fight between the two most popular characters of the MCU.

But here's the thing...apart from Hulk being forced to fight in that one scene, what other instances are there going to be for a huge brawl between team members? They all respect each other now and would consider each other friends. Thor is going to get a bit rough with Tony but he's not going to start hurling lightning at him unless one of them is being influenced. Marvel is essentially using the promise of additional familiar match ups to bring in the casual crowd that had showed up in droves to watch the first Avengers, despite the likelihood of more brawls between heroes being fairly low. We'll see them fight Wanda, Pietro, Ultron, and whomever may end up being thrown at them for the majority of this movie, not heroes fighting heroes. They may come close and tensions will rise but long fights like we saw in The Avengers are unlikely outside of the Hulkbuster scene.

Then again, maybe I'm completely off the mark here and we'll see as much fighting among the team members as we did in the first one. In any case, I maintain this trailer isn't for you or me or anyone else that's somewhat familiar with the new characters. Look at how many people are disappointed that we didn't see any glimpses of the Vision. But what would it have mattered to the majority of the audience? He'd be just another character they have zero reference for. So yes, the trailer isn't the best for us fans but really, we're the ones the first "teaser" was aimed at. More than just a handful of people have mentioned their preference for the first teaser trailer. We got to see the first look at several new characters many of us had been excited for. The teaser was totally for us. This one is more for everyone else, really.

Yup, and the lighting is exactly the same in both the
past Black Widow shots in this new trailer and the ballerina shots in the old trailer.

Wooooow...

I didn't expect to get Black Window origin spotlight! Next best thing to her getting her own movie. AWESOME

I would just like to say that the audio used in this trailer brings pleasure to my ears with my high class headphones.

Also, regarding all the Loki being incompetent bit that's been said a few times - the way I always thought about it was from the view point of beings with life spans over several thousand years. Loki may appear an adult but he's mostly just an adolescent with demi-god level power. His ambition outstrips his actual ability, and he probably needs at least a few hundred years before he either realizes that or grows more capable. Thor may in fact be a bit older than Loki by more than you'd imagine. I really like that idea of super powered beings that live extremely long lives and mature into adults over the span of centuries.

Avengers 1 wasn't really about showing how powerful and evil Loki is, it was just threat to form a team and it was a bigger set up and hint that the humans should fear the one Loki feared to disappoint/fail. You could see how scared he was when the servant of Thanos talked to him about Thanos

I also think that whole line Ultron said about "We all create the things we dread" or something like that is massive foreshadowing to
him creating the Vision, who will ultimately be Ultron's downfall.

God Loki was such a shitty, overrated villain. And they just can't stop bringing him back.

I wouldn't be surprised if they brought him back for this movie too.

? He's only appeared in the movies related to Thor. Tom Hiddelston is great in the role, he's charismatic, not to mention the best thing about Thor: TDW.

I doubt it. I do think Loki will eventually end up a redeemed hero however. Hiddleston has a ton of fans, and Disney appears to love him too. He's probably the second most popular character under RDJ's Tony Stark.

Something I'd personally love to see is Loki turn "good" by sacrificing himself during Ragnarok. I agree that the character hasn't been used to his potential, but Hiddleston does a pretty wonderful job with what's he's given. Loki could be reincarnated as kid Loki in a spin-off franchise with Hiddleston reprising his role in the form of Ikol the crow. I say that as a fan of Kid Loki from the comics though so non-readers may not find it as appealing.

Whedon said from the start it'd be a very tonally different film. Not sure why people are set on comedy. There'll be one liners sure.

Lol "All MCU films are comedy" remember that time your childhood friend came back as a brainwashed machine to murder you? Hilarious.

Looks good, but not really special. Just an incoherent compilation of clips saying ' look at this cool shit we got.'.

That's .... kinda what a teaser is for, hence the name teaser.
It's meant to make you think "wow that's a lot of coll shit, I can't wait to see more or hear more about the story".

He doesn't look all that dangerous though. In fact in half the shots he's all broken looking. His name is in the title and I don't know what is going on with this movie and why I should be excited about him.
Try google for it. There are like a million comicbook pages who inform you :)

Except this is a trailer. Not a teaser.

This was a teaser

This thing we got here is called a trailer, meant to shed some light on what we might expect from the film.

Yeah. This looks like "Here's a bunch of shots we couldn't fit into the first trailer, or weren't ready by the time that trailer needed to get out the door"

Wanted to post this. Really feels like a 'b-roll' of the first trailer. Still there were some neat shots in there.

Thank you!

It gets tiring reading the ‘trailer is shit/doesn’t explain anything’ posts, its supposed to get you interested in some cool scenes, not give you the whole fucking story laid out for you! Its people who react like this that give us the shitty film trailers that explain the whole movie before you have even seen it.

Cant you people watch anything without knowing the whole thing before seeing it?

As for the trailer, fantastic as before. The sense of dread throughout is great and I cant wait to see everything go to hell for the team, especially to see how they end up at the end. Also interested in seeing if we really do see Wakanda, would be amazing to get some semblance of what its like before Civil War

Also, DAT Hulkbuster fight!
