Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer #2

That's a mistake if that's his true intention, thought they hit a winning formula in A1 with a perfect mix of superhero action and comedy.

I don't think so at all. It would be a mistake to just run with the same instead of develop. The last film was a playground for our heroes. The main villains weren't much threat at all, if the team had been united from the start they'd have ended it long before New York.

The light tone matched the subject.

This time they're facing a greater threat and the tone will shift to suit as it should. This is Whedon so there will still be humour, it's not suddenly going to become MoS.

The trailer felt a little strange the first time I watched it. Second viewing it worked better. I think it may have been the sound.

I like it.

Cool trailer.

Whose the chick behind Thor? Enchantress or just some random bystander who happens to be wearing similar gear to the Enchantress?

And Hulk looks like he hasn't slept for months. Damn. What's with the bloodshot eyes? Please don't tell me it's brainwashing or some other BS...

It's probably the effects of Scarlet Witch that Tony and Steve discussed in the cabin scene, something about what the Maximoff kid showed them, not so much mind control, but telepathic invocation of images leading to certain behavior.

didnt GAF hate on the last avengers pretty much all the way up to release...and we all know what happened there.

Ah, okay. That's fair enough. I was worried we were heading back to mind control territory like the first Avengers...

Looks like the same place as this scene:

There are just way too many characters. I'm a big Joss fan and I know that he can ensemble casts well, but unless this movie is 4 hours long or the greatest screenplay of all time, there is no way the plot can be a cohesive self-contained story. They're trying to do too much. It pretty much has to be a lead in to other films.

That's what Marvel is doing. They tease someting in this movie and people who are new to all the superhero movies and are thirsty for this Universe want to see the other movies to understand everything (Black Panther etc.).

whos the guy with the big sideburns that looks kinda like wolverine?

You mean Andy Serkis? He's playing Ulysses Klaw apparently (I don't know who that is).

This is going to be the stand-out action scene in the film, I think, in the same way the Washington DC street battle was the best in Cap: The Winter Soldier. Hulk going full on villain is actually quite a scary prospect. I mean, I know they did it kind of in Avengers 1, but he looks proper crazy here and he definitely kills those policemen.

Christ, I figured Ultron was controlling the Hulkbuster in that first trailer, but this is pretty clear about Hulk being the bad guy here. Can't waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait.

I don't have any sources to back it up, but I suspect people get tired of jokes quicker than action scenes, which is probably why the trailers have been filled with action instead of jokes.

I was expecting a trailer with a different tone from the first.

Oh well still looks great.

I hope we get to see more Hawkeye in this movie.
I remember reading an interview with Joss Wheadon saying he was enjoying writing Hawkeye in this new movie.

another bad trailer for this film
killing my hype a little

i don't know how whedon does it, but he has made yet another 250+ million dollar film look like it's a syfy production.

Trailer wasn't good but man marvel has upped the game. Special effects and filmography looks good which is usually the issue i have with marvel films along with weak villains

No one has ever explained what they meant by that. It is so weird.
I think it just basically comes down to not using artsy, non-traditional angles/filters etc. Basically because it isn’t attempting to be Oscar bait, it makes it less of a film in these people’s eyes which is always a stupid and pretentious belief to have.

It means it looks cheap.

Looks okay, Marvel not doing too well with trailers recently, bit non pulsed for me.

Avengers did look quite cheap a lot of the time, Whedon doesn't put much thought into setting the mood beyond character quips. Sometimes it's enough. It's very close to that Hobbit frame rate looking like a set rather than a fantasy world.

I think it's safe to say that Claudia Kim's character survives the Ultron surprise party.

I hope Maria Hill is safe.

Have you watched any Syfy production lately? This reminds me of the sort of posts where people would say "looks like a PS2/PS1 game" when the game looks impossible to be on those consoles.

I liked all of the trailers released by Marvel. However, looking back, the IM2 trailer was not good at all.

Trailer #2 was worse: http://youtu.be/FNQowwwwYa0

They just don't flow well.

Exactly, the people who spout this nonsense really have no idea what they are talking about.

It always just comes across like a spoilt child who doesn’t know anything other than their small amount of influence and experiences.

Crap trailer. Felt like an alternate "I dont know what I'm doing" cut of the last one, but maybe thats good because its all taken from the exact same scenes so its not giving away later stuff too much.

Hope theres not a third one really, but hey, Hollywood gotta spoil whole movies beforehand. The Iron Man 2 trailer was stupendous at showing every single best bit of the film, leaving the actual thing feeling empty as all hell.
