I'm not kidding, PC has a slightly better HBAO effect, but that's all. Source: I've played both.
EDIT: oh, and 60 FPS, on PC, obviously.
EDIT 2: There you go
It is quite simple really. You just give this absolutely amazing engine that can do wonders to a bunch of lazy and incompitant people, who don't know shit about how to make realistic animation and characters in their modern games (everything related to combat in Andromeda looks cool or good enough though, go figure) with amazing tech they have right now. You give it to those who can't properly animate female characters to make them act like actual female characters and therefor you can't think about them as female characters and you can't look at them and say "I like you, I want to know you better and eventually..." well, you know... but that's not the main goal. You give it do those who thinks that the actual eyes is not important when you create a human character (or just about any other humanoid character), but they are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, cuz the eyes are the mirror of the soul and when you look at shitty eyes in MEA... they are full of void and nothingness, like the eyes of a robot, cyborg or any other synthetic life form which arguably can't have a real soul, personality etc. You give it to those people who thinks it's okay to put extremely outdated character models into a modern game with amazing looking environments, lighting etc.How do you shit the bed so hard with one of the best engines this gen?
Good job BioWare Montreal. Extremely well done. The VI seems to look worse.
Left Andromeda, Right Mass Effect 1.
wtf is this?

Come on, even in that low quality youtube video it's easy to see the PC version has higher texture quality, better ambient occlusion and better shadow quality. The skin textures and shaders also look better on the PC in that daddy Ryder shot.

You give it to those who thinks that it's okay to make early X360 / PS3-like clay hair in 2017 instead of implementing HairWorks or TressFX for at least the main cast of the game, AT LEAST THE MAIN CAST. You give it to those who draw beards on a character's face in PS instead of making them look like an actual, believable and realistic 3D object like it shoud be in 2017. I mean, let's for the moment just forget about the amazing beard which Geralt has in The Witcher 3 with HairWorks on or even without it.... for fuck's sake (!), 6 years ago one moder made an amazing mod for Skyrim which ads really cool looking and fucking 4K 3D beards to the game with a shit load of detail, what can you say about that BioWare Montreal? One man made this and a bunch of lazy and incompitent people can't do shit with even much and much more powerful engine.
You give this engine to those who think "Nah, fuck it, 10 year old approach to cut-scenes and cinematography is completely okay in this day and age after the world seen The Witcher 3, Horizon and whatnot, let's prioritise combat and combat animations to make them look cool at least". You give it to those who thinks "Oh yeah, writing... riiiiiight, hmm.... well fuck it as well for a good measure. We prioritise combat first of all, so who's gonna care about characters, dialogues and story? Naaaah, no one. People like to shoot things and if they wan't RPG, we'll give it to them by implementing crafting, scaning, gathering recources, inventory managment and all sorts of shit like that cuz that's what you call an RPG these days."
Uh, what a fucking mess and clusterfuck. All that was posted in the last 2-3 day regarding Andromeda issues is just boggles my mind. How on universe ANYONE thinks that it's okay to show all this to potential buyers and that it's okay to have all this in the game in such a absolutely terrible and extremely unfinished and unpolished state? I mean, back in early-mid 2000s it was absolutely impossible to ship a console game in such a state, Sony or MS just wouldn't have allow it, but now.... now almost everyone just don't give a flying fuck about the state of their games. No-no-no-no-no. This is not how it works now, now it works like this - fuck any kind of QA, release the game as is, fix it later if you can and if you have a will to do so. Investors want good numbers at the end of fiscal year so fuck delaying the game for another half a year before the end of a fiscal year to make it better and fix all of its problems.

Honestly, this is pretty damning. Ashley's face has so much more character, she seems like a person.

He's right though. The X1 and PS4 Pro versions are much closer to each other in terms of shadow, texture and screen space reflection resolution than to the PC. During the sequential comparisons in that video, the only times I noticed a real 'jump' was when going from PS4 Pro to PC.Low quality? There's a 4K version, and 4K video on YouTube, specially when no fast moving scenes are the focus, is extremely watchable.
About the remaining things, the difference is so subtle that it wouldn't surprise me that all the "higher" effects you mentioned on PC are due to a strong sharpening (besides AO, where I do agree PC has an edge).
Also... I'm playing the PC version on Ultra at 1440p right now. I'm not commenting on it solely by the video.
PS.: had to double check, I can't believe you said the PS4 Pro version is closer to X1 than PC. Come on.
Exactly the quality I was talking about a couple days ago -- believability -- and this one dude was kinda throwing it in my face...

How characters have sex with faces like this?

I've not played DA:I and i probably never will, but did it also have this kind of simplistic eye shading and no noticeable skin subsurface scattering? Because for a contemporary "AAA" game that goes for a photorealistic style that's pretty weak.To try and get things back on topic from 4chan level discussion, here's the game on pc ultra, certainly is a better looking title than DA:Inquisition.

So why the hell can't I play the single player with these other presets in the game? There are good faces in this game, I don't know why they chose the ones they did for single player
Also I put spoiler tags in case because of multiplayer details.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I can agree that they are one of the best in the industry in certain aspects, sure, cuz they clearly are, but sure as hell not in terms of making beliavable characters in this day and age, in terms of animations (when it comes to dialogues, cut-scenes and other stuff not related to combat), cinematography, writing, dialogues, telling interesting stories. No, not anymore, not for at least 5-6 years now. This is hyperbole.
I'm hard on Mass Effect Andromeda, but let's not call the devs lazy and incompetent, when we all know they are probably some of the best in the industry.
Imho it doesn't matter what's the reasons for all this and I think if you care about your game (and frankly, you should), there's no way on earth you'll release it in such a state not only in terms of piss-poor animations, but in terms of other and also very important aspects. Was it EA who said that they can delay the game if they think it's okay to do this to make it better and to fix problems? There is a lot of factors that can lead to the problems, bad pre-production, series of clusterfucks, a flaw in the production pipeline, etc. Still never for once have I thought that the devs arent talented.
Am I?You sound crazy.
wtf is this?
Their recent works haven't really show that they are some of the best in the industry. At least in term of technical skills. This is hyperbole.

Man that looks so bad. What happened with this game?
Is that Head 3 female Trump?
Never would have expected in 2012 that I'd be able to make a way better face in a Fallout game than a Mass Effect game.

What the actual fuck. None of that makes any sense. How did anyone okay this? WHO WROTE THAT, AND HOW DID IT GET PAST HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE.
Now the comment from the RPS guy suggesting the writer walk off a cliff doesn't seem so hyperbolic.
Why is it so hard for developers to make eyes that look alive?
Just make them move and twitch, nobody stares into the void like that!

lol
noot noot
That's plain bad. How is that even possible? I don't remember Mass Effect having so bad mouth animations
