NSMB will beat out SMB3 next week, and it should overcome SML's sales early next year.

I doubt it'll ever reach SMB's ~7m, but that's pretty damn good, considering no game in 18 years will have come that close.

When was the last time a PSP game sold over 300,000? I think Portable Ops might be able to do it.

Kirby sales are shocking for me. The game is going to reach 900,000 easily it seems... Will it be a million-seller in Japan alone? Pokemon and Mario are beasts.

Love and Berry DS Collection has great sales for a third party DS game. Sega must be really pleased. Likewise, J!US will surpass the first one in sales.

Very stong sales for MGS PO. :)
And wow at Pokemon, NSMB, Kirby, Love & Berry, JUS, sales. DS am god. JUS amost already outsold JSS which is good news.
Kirby will outsell all previous GBA versions very soon and will become another million seller.
Wii Play and Wii Sports sales are very impressive too. And considering previous weeks attach rate of these games, we can say nearly 250k Wii sold last week in Japan according to MC.

Good to see a PSP title up there.

Wow at DS owning Japan seriously.

Sony has as many games spread across their 3 systems as there are on Wii alone.
The console wars are over. ;)

- Great opening for MGS

- DS sales are the regular insanity.

But it's just hopeless over there. There's no way a western console is going to take off when there are perfectly viable local alternatives. You don't need to be a downer, you just have to be honest. PS3 and Wii make the 360 completely irrelevant.

Maybe 360 ends up higher than Xbox by a hair. That's the ceiling.

Firstly, VERY good numbers for both MPO and TotW. Two PSP games with over 100k units sold on the first week is great news, considering the generally sluggish software sales for the system.

Lost Planet at ~30k according to Sinobi is quite a disappointment imo. After Blue Dragon pushed so much more hardware, the expectation would be that the software sales pick up proportionally as well, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's selling about what pretty much any other major Xbox360 game this year sold. :(

What the hell. Seriously, what the hell?! It's gonna be a millionaire soon. Seems Nintendo revitalized the Kirby franchise.

So, which other Wii game made it into the Top 30? Wii Sports, Wii Play, Zelda, Pokemon Wii and...?

and concerning the Top 10 this week - 'Japan likes only non-games' haters are owned. :D

To be fair, Blue Dragon added 30% more to the 360 userbase in to weeks. I wouldn't expect to see that big of a jump in major releases with that kind of an increase (on such a small userbase, at that).

Lost Planet wasn't as popular as Blue Dragon which is a major JRPG.
I said this in the last week thread that LP has almost no effect on 360 sales. It's not a system seller at all.
