Shouldn't have any trouble passing that, unless it severely drops (like 90%) in the next few weeks.

They really integrated the controls into the game (i.e. they're not slapped on), and there are already reports of it getting good advertising. I've said before that since it is following Brawl's release, I think it'll be a good test to see if core gamers are becoming more active on the system now.

Looking at PSPs share in overall software sales, not really, but this might at least partly be a result of support having dried up beforehand.Spiegel said:Lately (after psp slim launch) they do.

Now that we're well past the holidays and the major release weeks have passed, it shouldn't be surprising actually. We hadn't seen anything to show otherwise, right?Epiphyte said:That's a bit of a shame. I had hoped the PS3 would stabilize rather than continuing the cycle of big release spike followed by continual slide until the next big game release.

The PS3 has gone through harsher times before hasn't it? I mean wasn't it selling below 10k per week for a little while? I remember it being a doom n gloom period because I think that NPD month it sold pretty terribly as well.schuelma said:PS3 - 17,637 | 23,985 | 258,988 | 1,900,664
Wow..not good, not good at all.
Also, it looks like Wii might be establishing itself at the top position.

schuelma said:Yes, but after the Holiday's and the beginning of January there seemed to be signs that sales wouldn't get this low again.

March has Yakuza, so it's probably not gonna drop then.apujanata said:Pacman became more distinct every week.
PS3 doing 17K is not a good sign. I was hoping for 20K / week, after those price cut and lower priced SKU.
Will it drop to 10K- again in March, or is this 17K an anomaly, and it will return to 20K next week ? I want PS3 as good 2nd console, at least for 5 more years. If they do this weekly #, there might not be sufficient varied game for it in the future.
Busaiku said:March has Yakuza, so it's probably not gonna drop then.
The 2nd game sold more than any DMC title, so I can see a longer bump.schuelma said:But looking at what happened with DMC4, it will drop right back down. Bad bad sign for Sony.
Tideas said:well, first thing is just look at the price factor. How much is the PS3 sselling for in Japan?
$370?
Remember folks. Price drives almost everything.
I dunno. By historical perspectives, even the Wii is expensive.Tideas said:well, first thing is just look at the price factor. How much is the PS3 sselling for in Japan?

The PS3 was also priced the cheapest in Japan than other territories since launch.tanod said:Right now, the PS3 is the same price the PS2 was when it launched in Japan.
I wouldnt apply that here mainly because of the competitor's(none around lol) price. Wii may be considered high price, but given the 2 other choices available, what do you take? The lower priced one with brand recognition or the higher one with brand recognition?Innotech said:I dunno. By historical perspectives, even the Wii is expensive.
Gamecube launched at 200$ and never made these kinds of #s.
Its beyond price now. Japan has pretty clearly chosen a console to support.
