Good sales for AC:R it should pass ep 3 LTD easily. Likely means more sequels.

With hopefully better quality.

I wonder if the PS3 version of Sengoku Basara 3 alone will crack the 400k.

so, the Wii is finally dying off in Japan? Anybody wanna predict when it'll hit 10k?

Its basically dead. Look at the release lists. Hardware sales could stay around 15-20K for a while I guess, but support wise its over.

Oh and every wekk we see that Japan is a portable land. Cant wait for the 3DS release and how it will do.

There's still Dragon Quest X....

What did people ever expect from DQX anyway? By announcing DQIX for the DS they already set the capstone for the rise of jRPGs on handhelds.

I think is too soon to call Wii's death. Sales are slow as well as PS3 this year but it has the largest installed base and will also receive important titles.

Sure it will receive important games from Nintendo and in few occasions third-parties ( like DQX ) but it's clear that third-parties overall has abandoned the platform.
Neither Wii or PS3 is really selling well in Japan.

And yes, PS3 sales are marginally better, but look at the amount of 3rd party software for the system and the relatively healthy sales lately for such software. Big big difference.
That's true but overall software sales are sharply lower than PS2 ones or am I wrong ?

such as?? It will probably do ok this holiday since Nintendo systems always do ok, but if you just look at release lineups you see all you need to know.

Yet Wii still sells more software overall on the back of first party alone.

Basically, I'm really impressed by Nintendo's strength as a publisher.

Pretty nice for ACE. Sad to hear about its word of mouth though, could bite them in a future ACE as well as this one legs.

Not bad for Compile Heart's Neptune, 5k below Cross Edge but above Agarest Senki, Trinity Universe, Hakuouki and such CH-IF PS3 games.

Its interesting how PS3 has slowly turned into a good place for traditional B or C-level support (as in the same type/franchises/developers PS2 had). Still has to show it could be a good place for A-level, looking at you GT5.

:lol

Back on topic, Nintendo managed to revitilise hardware with NSMBWii (and to a lesser extent a price drop). Now that the NSMBWii effect is wearing off, how will Nintendo plan to sustain hardware sales for the rest of the year?

Donkey Kong? Price-Drop? Kirby Epic Yarn?

What I'm wondering is whether MHP2G is finally out of the top 30. Hope it stays, at least until Poka Poka Airu Village comes out.

Yeah, honestly, they could even get Capcom to make Monster Hunter 3G for the system.

When people are refusing to make sequels to successful games on the platform, it's like beyond dead for third party software support.

You had to be blind not to see it.

Different subject: All eyes on sinobi this week in case he gives numbers for Metroid II and Super Metroid.

Hopefully it convinces Banpresto/Bandai/SRW Production Team to put a SRW title on the system... unless they're really going to unveil something at TGS.

I can't remember which week it was but whatever week that you compared the MP8/WP LTDs (and showed WP 200k behind or something) and then the MP8/WP weeklies (and showed WP selling at 4x the weekly volume), it was blindness confirmed :p

Didderent subject: All eyes on sinobi this week in case he gives numbers for Metroid II and Super Metroid.

I was going to say "Don't you already have those", but apparently you don't. Metroid 1 is there, and tons of other NGB and SFC, but not Metroid 2 or Super Metroid :p

They came out when Famitsu used the point system and these top 30 aren't uploaded anywhere. Not million sellers obviously which means no numbers from YSO.

ioi and square2005 could be useful for the first if they decided to share the old Famitsu magazines they have.

Neither Wii or PS3 is really selling well in Japan.

No consoles are selling well in Japan, it's all handhelds. There is no reason to call it the Wii's or PS3's fault.

3G should be a near guarantee, I mean the western releases added Wii Speak, and there's the upcoming headset which only needs to have a codec added IIRC to existing Wii Speak games (only possible on Wii with a re-release such as this since patches are a no go), but of course Capcom would add more anyway, but that's a good start.

Hell, where's Monster Hunter 2G? MHG did over 230,000 which is pretty impressive for a 4th appearance (MH and MHG on PS2, MHP on PSP, and now MHG on Wii), it even did WAY more than MHF on 360, I can't believe how badly that one sold.

they never really supported the wii in the first place with the huge exception that is marvelous

so no loss there (except marvelous.. that loss is huge for me personally)

That's actually my point. The thing makes perfect sense, but there seems to be no sign of the game on the horizon.

I mean, are people expecting a two year development cycle for an expansion pack? I mean, that's almost as long as the development cycle for the main game.

Not really, MHP3 is the bigger release and obviously they want to give the game full attention.

Most likely MH3G will be announced as a Wii (and probably PS3) game and released at the end of 2011.
