[3DS] Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer # <ETC> (Nintendo) (¥4.320) - 60-70%
Amiibo Cards supply constrained

[PSV] Ray Gigant <RPG> (Bandai Namco Games) (¥6.664) - 30%

[PSV] Date-A-Live Twin Edition: Rio Reincarnation <Date A Live: Rine Utopia Date A Live: Ars Install> # <ADV> (Compile Heart) (¥7.344) - 60%

[PSV] IA/VT: Colorful # <ACT> (Marvelous) (¥5.184) - 50%

Rabidds Land

[3DS] Akogare Girls Collection: Wan Nyan Doubutsu Byouin - Suteki na Juui-San ni Narou! <ADV> (Nippon Columbia) (¥5.184)
[3DS] Go! Princess PreCure Sugar Oukoku to 6-nin no Princess! <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) (¥5.119)
And Corpse Party news? I'm guessing SilverStar Shogi DX > Wan Nyan Animal Hospital and Go Princess PreCure. Releasing 'girl's' games the same day as Happy Home Designer is completely tonto even though Animal Hospital is fun!

Meanwhile on Japanese forums...
>It's not a complete disaster, and I wasn't really expecting much in the first place, so...
>oh my god I can't stop laughing at this rhythm game
>Team Muramasa are going backwards.
>I just looked at the skill tree and immediately thought "is this it?"
>The fact that they're repeating their mistakes from Students of the Round shows how much they haven't grown.
>If they wanted to focus on the story, why couldn't they have made the sprites a little better?

He would most likely have to create a new category for Corpse Party, because it seems worse than Rabbis Land. I know pretty well the value of Amazon ranking, but was checking out stuff for 3DS boxarts and saw that ithe best-selling version was currently #92.... of the 3DS-only ranking. So yeah.

Besides:

1) Corpse Party (series) is really niche to begin with
2) it's a port of a remake of a PC game
3) no audience for that sort of game on 3DS

So yeah, Corpse Party 3DS has all the right ingredient for the "Sale Disaster" recipe : / To be honest, I'm not sure people know the game actually came out... hiska-kun didn't remember, at least :D

Gutted. Though Experience are well and truly represented on Vita at this point, so...

Didn't even know Corpse Party 3DS released this week. It sold peanuts on PSP/Vita anyway. Not quite sure what they were going for with that port.

Well it's a ~25k seller and the games have all been released on PS handhelds so far, the 3DS port was probably meant as trying to expand the audience but it was really a poor attempt on all sides just like Atelier Rorona 3DS.

Since the circumstances are rather similar it shouldn't even reach 10k sales LTD.

I can definitely understand why they'd want to expand the audience for both this and Atelier, but I don't know how else they could've done it to be honest.

You couldn't start with Book of Shadows or Blood Drive for Corpse Party, so Bloodcovered is the only real choice unless they were making something brand new for 3DS. But who's going to pay full price for a port of a PSP game from 2010?

Similarly with Rorona, Arland is clearly more popular than Dusk so they chose the right series, but their choices were the start of the series which had already been remade once (Rorona) or Totori/Meruru which were follow ups and may have had even fewer people diving in.

It's a difficult one. If you don't want to commit the resources to a new title you're definitely limited on what you can expect from remakes. For such a niche series like Corpse Party I don't see any scenario where it would've been worth it, short of desperately hoping the game would've become a break-out success because the 3DS is selling well (same thought process with Atelier I guess).

I highly doubt that. Nintendo has always valued exclusivity and unique experiences. It'd be strange for them to suddenly start putting the same games on the console and handheld.

The way I'm imagining it working is that they'll still produce games pitched at console and games pitched as handheld, they'll just each also be able to work on the other platform.

It'll also hurt their software sales, which is Nintendo's bread and butter, as people aren't going to want to buy the same game twice.

Wouldn't that be offset by them producing (in principle) twice as much software?

And it'll hurt 3rd party support to try and force them to develop both handheld and console versions of the same game when they may not want to.

Anyone who develops for PC should have done so with some thoughts about scalability.

Isn't there a Corpse Party live action movie hitting Japanese theatres? Maybe they expected that to carry the 3DS port (unless it's one of those really limited releases, in which case lol).

Yup, hitting theatres tomorrow. But from what I've seen, it looks like a rather low-budget (but not necessarily bad... haven't seen it so I can't really comment) movie. Not the kind that would drive hundreds of people to go buy the game.

Edit: looks like people enjoyed the movie on NicoNico.

So, according to my friend, some stores were very dumb with AC cards and allowed one customer to buy boxes. All of the boxes. There were a lot of very unhappy customers with the store clerks, lol. Fortunately, some others were less dumb and got a lot more business but it seems like cards are going to have a lot of shortages.

Also lots of trades were going on outside of the stores too, haha.

If you see very low sales numbers going up, that's normally driven by sales.

Like when we used to get the Top 10 late-gen PSP games in NPD, they'd almost all be a list of what was on sale that month at various retailers.

impressive, not far from Corpse Party I noticed the latest Kunio-kun game, a brand new one, not a porting of a porting, and it was around 4,000yen :D

(Report from yesterday, since time zones.) With trading right outside of stores where she could find cards on sale, my friend got the "special" cards she wanted for AC:HHD with minimal investment. She's not bothering with collecting the regulars, what she has she'll use for whatever purpose they have in Festival.

Most people (a lot of girls and women) got the cards they really wanted just by trading with one another. Also cards were completely sold out everywhere after the day was done and AC was looking low in stock or sold-out.

Well yeah, that makes sense (and it's probably what Nintendo intended... in both cases :p).

Looks like the cards are doing well, aren't they? At least it won't be too hard to get a reprint compared to the regular amiibo.

Had several retailers not sold their entire stock to a single customer, it would have been a lot less annoying too, probably, lol.

That's the normal version, not limited.

I just looked at those kanji on the top left corner, it's written something about the limited version, too lazy to translate all of them ;)

I noticed in that shop another couple of games which were released last week : Mystery Chronicle, a roguelike rpg for PS4 (or PS3 ? ) and Vita and a tank simulation game for Vita and PS3 (or PS4 ?)

Can't reallty think of anywhere else to post this, but Sega Sammy Holdings have released their Q1 results.

Nothing too interesting to me, some data about how their mobile stuff is doing, Nirolak might me interested on that.

Sega & Atlus moved 330k units of "packaged games" in Q1 in Japan, it accounts to 4 games (5 SKUs), not sure about what games they are though, they only list Persona 4: Dan and Project Mirai DX.

Seems like Splatoon really will outsell Smash U in Japan the way things are going. Wow.

I doubt it's possible WW though.
