Since Wii Party U apparently did about 20% sell-through first day...I hope the shipments were large for the game.

Yeah that's the only way I can see it as a good sell through percentage, as is often the case with these Nintendo titles that sell well over the weekends.

Do we have much shipment estimates for past Wii U titles? I just can't see stores having that much confidence, such that they order large shipments for the system's software any more. So that 20% doesn't seem great.

Going by sell-through figures, retailers are still very optimistic when it comes to ordering Wii U titles since almost every release has an extremely low sell-through.

For the kind of title Wii Party U is that figure doesn't actually look bad.

Initial shipment for some recent Wii U first-party titles:

Pikmin 3 - 195.000
New Super Luigi U - 85.000
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD - around 60.000 or 65.000.
The Wonderful 101 - 30.000

It's not impossible it sold more on the first day projection based on a smaller pool of stores. =P

Also, the blog usually mentions multiplatform games together, so the order with them is probably ignored.

Anyway, there's been no confirmation to the order of listing, it's just empirical. But this week, the order also seems consistent with sales (Wii Party U and Gundam Break are at the bottom, but they'll likely end up selling more than anything else when bundled sales are added).

What's that, a limited edition?
¥19.800 sounds quite expensive, that is possibly over two times the price of the game solo, so there must be something valuable in there.

Huh? It's only slightly more expensive than first party titles and is cheaper than the bulk of third party titles, plus it's cheaper on the eShop than first party.

had a look over the last few weeks but i don't really see any match ups to sales that would make much sense.

Dangan ronpa listed last in its week

Arcadia higher than wind waker, kiseki and musou that week

mushibugyo listed first


I think he likes to reserve that last spot for ultimate bombas when the come but other than that i dont think there is any relation.

However, it needs to improve quickly. I'm not posting the comparison with 3D Land, since maybe it started preorders earlier than 3D World compared to the respective release dates, but...it's a M-E-S-S.

It never made it in top 20 Comgnet, but it also had a 24k debut, and it's obviously a much lower profile release than 3D World. Mario's gonna enter there, the problem is...how much will it do?

Well i think theres still time, and maybe its generalising but I would expect the wiiu/mario audience to be less involved in the pre order/pre release hype cycle than other games. even if it enters low or even doesnt enter it will sell more than most of the games in the list.

i wouldnt be confident in it outperforming the current best sellers on the system though.
