DaaaaaaammmmmnnnnnI have a mod which makes FFIX playable. It's called FFVIII.
FFIX's battle's are a bit slower than most but, but that's ridiculous. If it's adjustable that would be cool.

You sure about that?
The load times are bad, sure (and that was something the PSX was infamous for, at any rate) but the battle speed itself is fine.
So do you like the turn waiting as well?
Cant believe so many people are fine with FFIX's battle speed, legit shook here. This is madness.

People even consider OoT the best game of all time today, what's so surprising that people are fine with FFIX's battle speed?
Chrono Cross already has thatThe dogpiling in this thread is really confusing.
I've always wanted to speed up PS1 JRPG battles without destroying all of the music/sound effects. It's awesome to see a mod provide some control over the speed-up (past the option offered by SE's rerelease).
Would love having this kind of mod for when I get the urge to replay Chrono Cross.

It's like Stockholm syndrome. The load times are bad, sure (and that was something the PSX was infamous for, at any rate) but the battle speed itself is fine.

Also, FF8 is the worst FF.

IX stans are a special bunch.
IX's OST was garbage compared to VIII. I can't believe that Uematsu considers that his Magnum Opus.
Can't we accept that FF9 is a pretty good game overall, but its battle speed, transitions and the way it wastes the player's time at every opportunity are absolutely catastrophic?IX's always been the best, no mods needed for that.
It could use improvements, but what I saw in the video wasn't it. Fast forwarding the battles isn't the way.Cant believe so many people are fine with FFIX's battle speed, legit shook here. This is madness.
Yup, lolPeople even consider OoT the best game of all time today, what's so surprising that people are fine with FFIX's battle speed?
I SEE YOU LIKE THE TASTE OF TRASH.
I feel like people in this thread never actually suffered through FF9's battles. Or if they have, they are immortals with infinite amounts of time.
The solution here isn't perfect, but it's a massive improvement over the default settings.
Also, FF8 is the worst FF.
There have been countless of people who've played Ocarina of Time well beyond after the PS2/GC/Xbox was released and still enjoyed it, just like Final Fantasy 7.Nostalgia goggles probably.
Heck I played OoT in 2011 (for the very first time) and I thought it was slow and a bit boring, not to mention it hasn't aged well.
FFVIII does indeed have the innate ability to make anything else look comparatively great. The type of game that makes you crave some Lunar Dragon Song or Secret of the Stars.I have a mod which makes FFIX playable. It's called FFVIII.
