Just going through all Metal Gears
on youtube.
Both of MGS2's opening were so damn cool and holds up so well even today. Makes me wonder what kind of opening sequence will we see with Phantom Pain, before the hospital awakening scene I mean.

I have a question for you guys. I wasn't into Metal Gear at the time, but does anyone remember if Raiden in MGS2 leaked before the game's release? I have to figure it got out there, even with embargoes on reviews and stuff.
I understand that times have changed big time with smart phones and youtube and twitter and all this shit but I'm just curious if anyone knows what it was like back then. And if anyone knows a timeframe, that would help me avoid the inevitable leaks of Hayter voicing Solid Snake in this game

I tried but google won't let me.
For reals though, I don't think there was a leak. Even if there was it must've been so minor that barely anyone knew of it. That's why the reaction was so strong.

Mgs2 holds up so well. It's probably the ps2 game that has aged the best.

As far as reviews went, I don't recall it ever leaking.
I was a regular on the IGN MGS boards back then and I do remember threads about Raiden but a lot of them contained nothing more than blurry, low res shots and were very hard to take seriously.
I actually don't think mgs3 has aged as well as 2. I think the art style for 2 has aged better.

I definitely remember reading the MGS2 review in EGM. They hyped the hell out of that game, and the review was really great, looking back. Didn't even hint at Raiden lol
I'm guessing most of the reactions were "fake" or "yeah, as IF we wouldn't play as Snake in MGS2. hahahahaha"

I remember that McFarlane Toys had silhouettes of all the characters before MGS2 came out, there was one with Raiden wearing the rebreather mask.

I wonder how they get games so early. You'd think the distributor wouldn't send them out so early based on this history of leaks.
Beats me man. But for some reason arab emirates has an history of getting games way early. That's the only reason why I'm taking this seriously.

They both hold up really well equally imo. Comes down to personal preference I guess in the end.
