"Not coming to a PC near you!"

The pc version of this game has stopped development... just a heads up

Just look at the dates, this listing must be old.
And the boxart is fake too, it should have LIVE branding for achievements etc considering it's a Microsoft game.
Conclusion: Not happening, error by the retailer.

You know, the longer this console cycle goes on the more I realize that it isn't really the "HD generation". It's the pre-HD generation. The best selling console is standard def and many of the best selling games on the HD twins are sub HD with very few 1080p games.

Anyway, aside from this whole resolution debacle that far too much discussion has been put into I find myself a little disappointed in what I've seen from Alan Wake so far compared to what I thought it would be from seeing the original trailers. It has some great lighting and post-processing going on but it isn't really the visual powerhouse it was supposed to be. And the change from open-world to a more linear game interests me less. I loved the impression I got from the first trailer where I thought I would have to manage my time and get to safety before sunset.

I agree - this is an in-between, almost HD generation. In the next generation, we will be able to do 1080p with 4x-16x AA and a solid 60fps frame rate (or 120fps for 3D), and the increased RAM and shader power will make textures really pop. I've seen some arguments about whether this generation is good enough that people will not really notice improvements in a next-generation, but clearly, we still have a ways to go.

I don't know, it is weird....when the PS3 first launched it had more true 1080p games in the first year and a half...than it has had these past couple of years....its not like the games ran horrible...

Full Auto 2 for the PS3 at launch ran at true 1080p/4xAA......heck even 2K Sports released their BasketBall game 2K7 at true 1080p to match Sony's own NBA 07 which also ran at 1080p....

but ever since I believe 2K's basketball game dropped down to 720p....

there were more games....but it seems like 3rd Party developers felt it wasn't worth it if both next gen systems they were developing on were not going to be running the same.....and Sony's own studios were like...well F'it too......besides MLB The Show most of their other games were 720p....but that might be changing....I think the Evolution Studios are aiming at 1080p for their new Motorstorm game.......and other 1st party devs might follow suit.

Good job, Microsoft. You're really increasing profits by reducing the amount of paying customers. If this still isn't reannounced for PC in a year I'll just pick up the 360 version for cheap.

You can get a download code for around $7 now. It really doesn't get much cheaper than that.

They release a PC version of Fable III, but not Alan Wake which is the better game that got worse sales numbers?

Who is currently running the show over there now?

Like I've said in other threads, OBVIOUSLY there are a few people at Microsoft who actually care about trying to put effort into GFWL and PC Gaming, but they are constantly overruled by people higher up who want to push everything MS does toward the Xbox platform, where you have to pay a monthly fee to get all the features. It's been this way ever since charging for GFWL failed on the PC.

The games we get are only because somebody SOMEHOW managed to convince their boss to put it out. I was actually super shocked that we actually got a release date for Fable 3 PC.

If the game slips from its May date, though, we will never ever see it.

Nice bump. It's a shame about Alan Wake, though. It was a very pretty game that was marred by some major technical issues, but it would be some hot shit in 1080p/60fps. It'll never happen, but I would buy it again for PC.

Hopefully someday Remedy can get back to PC development, if not I'll miss them greatly.

I just recently got the game. It was great. I liked it much more than I expected. I want to see that engine put to task. I thought the graphics were great. On the PC it would be absolutely incredible.

I really didn't like Alan Wake at all beyond the relatively good production value.

It just wasn't fun at all and the story was silly and didn't even wrap up properly.

eBay and amazon have had codes for under $10 recently. I paid $7 for mine off of eBay.
Oh, nevermind then. Don't feel comfortable buying "codes" from ebay. Thought there was a sale on xbl or something :( game should be $10 by BF this year though.

Outside of Fable 3 the only games MS will publish on PC are games that wont sell on consoles.

And PC gamers continue to not care about the irrelevant and incompetent presence of Microsoft on the home computer.

I absolutely believe that even if their flagship console exclusive titles did arrive for the PC market to consume, the actual experiences these games present would be completely overshadowed by the better games otherwise found on the platform.

I played Alan Wake on the 360, and found it completely and totally boring. The corridor forests and linearity compounded with the tedious flashlight / shooting systems totally subtracted from any positive feeling I got from the story the game tried to tell me. I really, really expected more from Remedy, who bought me Max Payne 2 seven years before.

Maybe I'm just bitter. But I totally couldn't care at all about this game hitting PC. ... even if I would rebuy it in a heartbeat.

I'm not really interested in Alan Wake since it turned out to be a linear snorefest. I was thinking more about Banjo and the Halo series. I would really like to have both on PC.

At some point, I actually really wanted this game on PC. Then I played it on 360.

The consoles can keep this terrible, terrible game.

Eh, I wouldn't call it terrible, but, honestly, it was a forgettable game. Really, it wasn't that great.

I liked it on 360, but my god you can tell this game was meant for the PC. Microsoft is fucking dumb for only publishing it on the 360. It's not like releasing a PC version will stop people from having their "comfy couch" experience. Christ.

Yes it does. They can't enjoy the game knowing someone somewhere is playing it on a PC.

Same. I enjoyed it for what it was worth, which was free for me because it came with my system, but the horrific story made me power through as soon as possible, and I had no intentions of purchasing the DLC.

Remedy signs up to deliver a Vista game and slips beyond recognition and they claim it wasn't technical nor their decision!? I thought Finns were known for their honesty.

During development Microsoft ruined what could have been a good semi-opne world game by cramming the game into the 360 so who cares about a PC version now?

I still remember the trailer from back when it was a showcase for Quadcore CPUs.

Its hard to feel sorry for Remedy, they made their bed.

And now 10 pages of people ranting about Microsoft and wondering how a 30+ page thread of hate got past them.

I am ready.

MS didn't change the game itself. Remedy changed it due to group testing results.
