No. I just understand that on a team roster you can afford to have players specialize in certain roles. It's not rocket science, and the stats support it.
yeah you can specialize on who is best in a situation, but don't just generalize and say ninth inning. Every ninth inning is different.

Ninth inning with a 1 run lead and the best hitters on the other team up is a good spot to put one of your better pitchers in. Ninth inning with a 3 run lead you can just put one of your middle relief guys in.

In this game, the most critical spot was probably the 6th inning. luckily for the royals they have 3 awesome relief pitchers so they are all equally as good.

No but if you are going to specialize you should do it based on the situation at hand, not based on some preconceived role. If you had a great pinch runner, would you put him in the game in the 3rd inning with the pitcher up to bat and two outs?

Closers are overrated though, right guys?

Well, yeah. It's the "save situation" what's overrated. Holland is amazing and would be equally amazing at any inning so it would make more sense to use it before if the situation calls for it rather than having that hard rule of saving him for the 9th.

Both closers have pitched tonight in non-save situations. I'm not even sure what you guys are trying to argue at this point.

yeah that sounds great if you have the royals bullpen

stage 3 complete! 3 wins away from being World Champs! I so hope this wasn't the last game at The K this year.

Never stop believing, it's hope what made us cheer for the Royals despite being at one point the bottom of the barrel. It's hope what kept the zealous Chiefs fans going to Arrowhead despite not winning a Superbowl since the 60's. Hope sustains us Kansans, we are used to heartbreak, but still a loyal fanbase.

GO ROYALS!

Dang, Billy is .429 career vs Peavey

Hell yeah!!

Royals have a chance again if they can win the next few games before Shields takes the field again and takes another shit all over the mound.
Yeah, I mean. It makes sense to have Shields out there against Bumgarner since that's probably an L. Hopefully he only starts one more game.

TV ratings for the World Series Game 2 rebounded somewhat, pulling an 8.8 overnight, winning the night. KC was a 49.6; SF was a 28.7.

But Duff and company told me, "LOL American League."

Shields was bad last night. That is troubling, but the Royals are an excellent team.

Talking big after one bad half an inning ruined the evening for us completely? I remember you doing the same in the nfl threads. How are them Chiefs?

"Talking big"? I don't think that means what you think it does. Point out where in my post I was "talking big." You can't. Unlike you, I'm not trash talking the other team. The Giants are great. You were in pure "LOL AMERICAN LEAGUE SUCKS!!!" mode in game one. Last night made you look like an idiot. The Royals are a good team.

One bad half inning = part of the game. The Giants pitching was bad this game. If you want to somehow try and reduce it down to a microcosm of the greater picture, be my guest. It's delusional, but that's your prerogative.

I can go back and pull up your asinine posts during and right after game one, but you know what you said. I believe I captured it perfectly.

The Chiefs are doing great. Just beat the Chargers and are right back in the playoff hunt. Thanks for asking!

any KC bros got any info on watching the game at P&L and when we should get there? my roommate has one of those happy hour dealies for PBR tomorrow night and i really wanna watch the game up there so i was thinking we'd head up there at 5:30-6ish and hope to christ they're not already at capacity.
