Same here....just lost a close friend and co-worker last Friday....I've just been on autopilot in the real world, just numb....but excited to be on GAF for the post season.

I don't mind that the Royal fans were cheering their team. The Royal players played their hearts out this game...this series....this post season...I'll never forget their performance vs the A's...it was like no other.

Congrats Royal fans you have one hell of a team....still found a way to be in position to tie it and maybe win it.....it was game 7 of the World Series and those last few innings could've went either way.

And Congrats to our players...After so many years of heart break and disappointment...I'm still not "used" to World Series wins...this was special just like the other two....can't believe after all those years as a child watching the Giants...they have won THREE WORLD SERIES.....still can't believe it. You fellas have made up for the 49ers heart ache I've had these 3 years.

Take Care GAF!

Good stuff man. As a Niner fan, I'm still waiting for that feeling but what a great great series.

Same with me. Watching the A's win in 89 (after the quake) and then us losing in 2002. 2010 shocked the hell out of me and 2012 (even though it happened before) lessened the 49ers chocking in the Super Bowl.

This year though was the best since I got to enjoy it with my son (who's 4). Seeing him running and jumping up and down screaming we won, we won brought tears to my eyes (and reminded me of when the 49ers won the 88 Super Bowl and me doing the same thing).

Haha. I'm in San Jose, only heard a few fireworks.
Fireworks, horns, vuvuzelas and cops on their PA's telling crowds to clear the street all going for the last hour. And I'm not even in the heart of the mission.

I've usually went through heartache with my cousin during those years, especially the Angel series...but this year, he has a Wife and a Son...and I'm soooo happy for him that he can spend this special moment with his little guy...just like you.

Don't know when I'll join yall...but looking forward to it.

I was born in Eastern Africa in 1981...came to states in 84....been following the Giants since 86....played for the Little Giants league here in SF when I was a kid. :)

Well... It sure stings this second. We were 90 feet away from tying it (and the Royals don't lose in extra innings). Rough stuff. I woke up this morning really thinking we'd win. But on the other hand, the fact that we're here at all is amazing. I mean, we're a real baseball team now. Getting to the World Series is something we waited three decades for. I followed them through all the heinous years that not even Astros and Marlins fans can understand, because their awful eras didn't last as long or hit such a hard rock bottom. This was so special. I hate that our special story is now about Madison Bumgarner, but we can actually hope for another special story soon, and have it not be some pie in the sky joke.

And regarding Madison Bumgarner and the rest of the Giants... Hell, they ARE pretty lovable, damn it. MadBum didn't get lucky or anything, he's a force of nature. Its sucks that we crossed paths with him during our one moment in the spotlight, but he truly is one of the all time great pitchers.

So good game, Giants. Once the stinging, acid heartbreak dies down a little, you've got a fan in me going forward.

And Royals... Thanks for giving this city its soul back. People who never paid attention now can't wait until next March. It won't be another 29 years. We're a real team again. We're back.

And thanks to all of MLB Gaf for putting up with my whining all these years. It feels good to finally be in the mix. Watch out, 2015 Tigers!

...

It's going to hurt for a while, but there's one hell of a silver lining.

That is a great story :)

Jays in 2015!

Yes please =( It's our turn for a destiny run to end a playoff drought!

I'm heartbroken. I just want one World Series win during my lifetime. Bumgarner is a magician. I can't wait another 25 years. It's like I just missed Hailey's Comit.

Baseball is dead to me.

I don't even want to go into work tomorrow with all the bandwagon Giants fans who can name maybe three players...

As an A's fan (waiting since 1989) I really sympathize with Royals fans...

"Your lifetime"?? ARE YOU TWO YEARS OLD

SF Dynasty. Man, tonight feels good.

88 wins, wouldn't even have made the postseason under the previous playoff structure, beating an 89 win team in 7 games, only winning 76 games the previous year... really setting a low bar for the "dynasty" label.

FUCK YEA GIANTS!!! Never going to see another performance like Bumgarner put together. Completely stunning. Never thought I would see a baseball dynasty in SF but here we are.

i'm sad as shit right now.

any other royals fans going to this?

http://www.kshb.com/sports/baseball...-season-celebration-event-at-kauffman-stadium

i'm thinking about it, not like i got shit else to do.

Thinking about it. I'd have to skip classes tomorrow to go.

Considering it. I'm transitioning teams at work. Old team can't assign me any new work since I'm leaving and new team can't assign me anything since I'm not there yet. I've been reading comics for the last week waiting for the transfer to actually happen. I don't think I'll be missed.

Erin Andrews really does have a way of bringing out the awkward in people when interviewing. Everyone she does it just horrible.

I hope you guys get it on an odd year. For real. Your fans deserve it.

The Royals don't spend that much money, 60 million per year in salary is a big fucking difference between the two and the Royals have some holes to fill as well.

Not to mention they're going to have to figure out something to do with Hosmer, Holland, Cain and Moustakas to avoid Arbitration.

From a financial standpoint this really was their best chance at winning a WS, the Royals will probably lose quite a few key players next season.

Bumgarner doesnt get the win anymore, but the save. Affeldt gets the win.

makes sense by the letter of the rules, as when affedldt came in it was tied, and thus
The relief pitcher who gets the win is the one who was pitching while his team took the lead, which it doesn’t relinquish.

means he would get the win... now had he come in a bit earlier and given up the tying run then
1 – If the starter left with the lead, but can’t get the win because he didn’t pitch enough innings, then it’s the reliever who was deemed to be the most effective that gets credit for the win. There are no hard and fast rules to determine this.

2 – If the reliever who should get the win based on the above rules was “ineffective in a brief appearance”, then the scorer has the right to award the win to the most effective subsequent relief pitcher. An example of this is in a situation where a reliever is called in to get the last out of the inning but gives up a few runs and the lead while finishing the inning. In the next half inning, the offense regains the lead, and then a new pitcher comes in. The first reliever met the condition for being the pitcher of record while his team took the lead, but can (and should) be denied the win based on this rule.

would have come into play.

Popped over to Dick's and it was a free for all on all the merch, guess they were busy setting up during the game but total madhouse.

I ended up grabbing two shirts for myself.
