Got my coffin today...Probably going to send my 360 out monday. Considering buying Okami or something to give me SOMETHING to play while my 360 is out besides old games.

I've joined the club. With more and more frequency, the thing would just stop reading discs in the middle of the game. This week, it started freezing up a lot and then finally last night, it began seizing up during the first 30 seconds of gameplay. No red rings or anything. Called MS this morning and they're sending me the coffin. I'm bummed because Bioshock is coming so soon, but I guess I'm glad the 360 died before I got the game, not right after.
What's weird is that I just tried it out standing vertically, and for some reason it seems to be working properly. This is such a strange piece of hardware.

Alright! Time for some good news/bad news.
Good news:
-Xbox finally got here! It's a replacement unit from 10/06 this time.
-It works...for the most part
-Got a month Live card
-Got on XBL!!
- My previous 360 was having graphical problems in addition to everything else and everything looked all washed out...this one looks crystal clean. Night and day, I tells ya.
Bad news:
-Won't sync with my controller (had to use the cable). And yes, I do know how to sync it... >:|
-Will not connect to XBL half the time. Will freeze every other attempt.
-Freezes every few minutes if I remain idle
-The image keeps getting distorted every time I push the guide button.
-I spent more than 1 month away from my 360...so "total compensation" was a lie. People are getting friggin' controllers and games and I can't even get my full xbl time back.

Kinda scared to turn it on to tell you the truth...think I'll leave it off 'till the FMT APF league starts. :X

Just got my brand new white coffin. The UPS dude said he'd be back in my area tomorrow to pick it up.

I've gotten circular scratches on almost half of my game discs, I've gotten tons of disc read errors, sometimes the disc drive won't open and most of the time my disc drive makes terrifying noises when loading things. (the infamous "grinding" noise)
Recently, it stopped being able to load races in Forza 2 like 4 out of 5 tries.
Here's hoping I get it back soon and in better working condition than it is right now.

Good news... my xbox apparently has been shipped... and it says it will be here in 3 to 5 business days... i really think it will be broken still , but hey at least I can gamefly my all pro and ish and at least hope that the ish works....

By the way, people who have gotten multiple xboxes: is it just me or have you noticed discoloration on every xbox in the same area? If you tilt it slightly, you can see discoloration around the "O" in "Xbox." Or, at least, on all of mine. I wonder what that is...looks like a burn mark or something... Looks like the Heroes logo.

I'm absolutely amazed by the performance of the repair center. Really. Yesterday, I've got my 360 back after 3 weeks of waiting. I've first sent it in back in june, because it gave 3ROD. Okay, fine, I've got a new one just after one week. But as soon as i've put a disc in it, it started to make such noises a man can't bare. Like when you are scratching something metal with a nail or something. It doesn't scratched the disks, but the noise was awful, not to mention that loading was ridicolous at some games. In top of that, the intro and the menu of PGR3 started to flicker. I've thought it's a hardware problem with the drive, so i've arranged a repair, i've thought they will simply just replace it and i will be fine.
Oh no sir. As i said, I've got my 360 back yesterday and guess what - they haven't done anything with the Drive, but they have replaced the motherboard. PGR3 still slutters, drive gaves out the metallic sound.
So i will send it back monday again. Third time.
I think that put an end to the question "How will i buy all these games?".

mine just bit the dust. got it last november from costco. now, should I send it in to microsoft now and risk getting back a bad refurb, or can I just swap it out at costco, they have some kind of auto warranty there for electronics right? AND, should I wait to do all of this until we start seeing falcons in the wild... thoughts?
also I really can't believed mine died. I was sitting there with my roommate, we'd just loaded r6:v, and it froze. I shrugged, saying I was getting worried about it dying, but at least there's that extended warranty. then bam, a horrible sound on startup, lights go bonkers, and three red rings blaze.

Well, I'm not recommending this by any means at all, but I actually end up ahead this weekend thanks to 2 $200 bets on the roulette table. I didn't think I would have the balls to bet that much on one spin, but it worked 2 times for me. Now I basically get a new 360 and Bioshock, Halo3, GTA4 and Ace Combat 6 all paid off in full. Go me.

Mine died this day. During summer holiday. Nice timing.
My second unit is now sputtering.
I bought this core unit to replace my RROD Premium back in January. Now it wont play more than 5 minutes before it freezes. Ironically, I redid my entertainment center yesterday and moved it out of the unit for better airflow.:lol
This is ridiculous.

Apparently while i was back at home for the weekend, i got the harddrive red light. The 360 still works, but it doesn't recognize the hd and hasn't given me a red light yet since coming back. I know MS replaces the 3 ringed systems easily, what about a damaged hard drive? I'm going to be pissed if i have to start working on Seriously again considering i had almost 11k and it wasn't unlocked. I've had this system since December 05

Just to let you know, when I saw your gamer tag come up this morning on you new refirb, it almost killed me in Dead Rising. I was in the Underground tunnels with about 500 zombies gangbanging me with a few health bars left.
I was sure yelling at the TV on that one (the indicator that popped up covered the arrow telling me where to go!)
