Monica, Miles Morales and Black Panther?

MCU is a black universe.

Marvel Studios is taking a page from Silicon Valley, and issued a surprise, and mysterious, invitation for Tuesday, October 28. The invitations, extended to Newsarama and other sites that cover comic book movies, says nothing other than the date, the morning time, and the location of the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. The invitation certainly brings to mind what Apple has done when announcing a major product in the past. It does specify the event is a Marvel Studios one, not Marvel Comics.

Wait a second..

People. Ok, they're inviting people. A whole group of them. This is code. This is code for humanity. But we need to narrow it down as to why this is important.

other than the date

Date...date...date. Ok, they want us to look towards the past. Not the future, as this event is already in the future, so we have to look towards the past. But how far?

the morning time

It's in the morning. This is important. If time on the planet is categorized as a day, then 'morning' would be very early in our recorded history. People. They invited people, so does it mean of when people made contact with each other? Just like now they're making contact with various people? So travel. Maybe the clue is 'people who traveled early on in history.' Let's go deeper....

and the location of the El Capitan Theatre

El Capitan. That is spanish for 'The Captain.' You'd be thinking, 'Oh Captain America!' But that's too obvious. Let's look at it. El Capitan. Spanish. Mexico.

Ok, so our clues are, people coming in contact with each other, very early in our history, and we know it's the past and not the present or future. And now the location....one of the leading theories of early travel of civilizations was that Africa was the first to make contact with Mexico, as archaeologists discovered a civilization of the Olmecs, which are of African origin.

Africa...the final clue. By sending out this invite, Marvel is saying 'We are celebrating one of the the very first civilization in the Americas, the Olmecs.' But why? If we look through the catalogue of Marvel's Comics, there is a character known as 'Black Panther', who is ruler of Wakanda, a very futuristic city in Africa. Therefore, what Marvel is trying to tell us is that...Wakanda is a successor to the Olmecs.

Oh Marvel you sly dogs, putting in a little history to your presentations.

These are all awesome possibilities. I hope they can sneak a few Netflix series announcements as well. But what strikes me is the date, the 28th. Wasn't that the day we were supposed to get the Avengers trailer? Before it leaked?

I mean, surely they had to be planning this for weeks, to book space and have special guest schedules line up. I'm expecting a massive blitz of announcements if that's the case, because the trailer would have been highly anticipated for that night, and possibly a red herring to preoccupy folks and distract for a thorough blowing of the collective minds of the fan base with other, crazier news, yeah?

Alright, I'm done speculating. Still totally ready to be marveled and not let down like that NYCC secret wars shit they pulled a while back.

If it involves Spidey joining the MCU, I'm going to just HNNNNNNGGGG

Even more if they announce either a new solo movie between now and Avengers 3, or an Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Andrew Garfield that fits within the MCU.

Bryan Singer will be directing Avengers 3: Wolverine Saves the Avengers!

Look forward to having all the cool action sequences at the beginning of the movie and basically separate from the actual plot!

Obviously they're going to announce that they've already filmed Captain Marvel in secret, and it's release date is next month.

And 30 characters shown then killed off with no characterization.

Is this what the Internet calls salt?

They mad that singer gave us better comic book drama than the MCU ever will achieve

It would be great if Marvel reacquired Spider Man, but wouldn't that mean yet another reboot?
on the plus side it would be the last reboot for probably quite some time

But two better MCU movies came out this year...

Blood pressure low over here.

It is kind of wierd that Fox fans keep claiming DOFP was some pinacle of filmmaking, and hoping people buy into it. It's like if I went around telling everyone I was voted People's Sexiest Man Alive of 2014.
