Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Official Thread: 100% Sauce Free!

This pack unlocks Shizune as a support character, adds two missions (one battle with Kakashi, one race) and the Naruto pyjama costume. Apparentely instead of turning into nine tails mode after the awakening is triggered, Naruto goes to sleep and recovers hit points. :lol
I think we'll find Namco Bandai adding the first two packs on EU stores later at some price.

as long as it's free later for the US crowd, i'll be happy too. so annoyed they they had to split up the hokage stuff but it's namco...
funny thing is that i just got an email from GS that they accidentlly charged my CC twice for this order and will reverse the charge asap. and they also decided to give me a $10 coupon for the mistake which is cool.
Sidenote: man, Naruto's REALLY neglecting it's extended cast lately, we haven't seen any Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Temari, Gaara, Kanakuro etc in a looooooong time. AUGH!!!

sorry but the game just finished installing, il post in a bit...but it's the same design pretty much as the Halo wars CE casing...of course with naruto artwork

This game is awesome so far. I'm not much of a Naruto fan anymore, as I watched the anime in the beginning but gave up on it when they started showing filler episodes. By the time they finally got to Shippuden I had lost all interest. Love the battle system. Never played any of the PS2 or 360 Naruto games so this is all new to me. So far I'd give it a solid B. My only gripes so far...
- Loading times are atrocious. Completely unacceptable when you consider that you have to do a near 4GB install to begin with.
- Ultimate Mission Mode has a lot of fetch quests. I don't mind it too much since it's been forever since I played a game with a lot of them but people who absolutely can't stand them stay away.
- They don't let you pan the camera nearly fast enough. Naruto regular outruns the camera.
...other than that I'm hooked. Got the game today and have already put 4 hours into it.
When you knock someone down in battle, they stay down for 2-3 seconds. During that time, run up to them and press circle and you'll just stomp on him.

man, I am loving and hating this game at the sametime.
I love the fighting engine (yea its shallow as fuck, but for a naruto it's "good enough" but made alot better just because of the characters/animations/moves/etc) but damn, the story mode is basically the same as the ps2 games. like, they took the fighting an engine a step further, I wish they could have taken the single player a step further too. I was expecting them to see what Ubisoft did and take it to the next level.
The "better" game would be Ubisoft's team doing the enviroments/story mode and this team doing the characters/animation/fighting mode.
<edit> agree with the loading. it makes no sense why it takes so long to load after every mission when you FUCKING INSTALL SOME OF THE GAME? makes no damn sense.
it's starting to make me think of that Sonic 360 game...where ul do the stupid "race in 90 seconds" then after winning, have to do a long load back to town...wtf
so far...for a Naruto fan this game is a must get.
for everyone else tho....it's a try and see imo

The loading is absurd. It's almost at Sonic '06 levels of absurdity.

Single player is very boring, even though Rise of a Ninja basically did the same collectathon thing, it did it much better.
So far I pretty much have to agree with others that the perfect Naruto game would have CyberConnect2 handling the graphics, mini games, and fight engine, while Ubisoft handles the single player story mode.

I'm so pissed right now, the GameStop I preordered this at got their limited editions today and decided a good course of action would be to immediately gut all of them including the preorder copies. So now I have to order it from GameStop.com and either pay extra for shipping or get free shipping and wait an eternity for it. Plus I'm too late to get the Hokage code now.

That's when they open the game, take the discs out and put them in a paper sleeve (both discs in the same sleeve in this case) and put the empty case on the shelf. Ordinarily it's a stupid process, but even worse so when they take copies people have already put money down on and put them on display. I'm buying the game. Why do you need to display it when you aren't going to sell it to anyone but me?

8ing needs to do fighting engine, or at least the character moves so that every character doesn't playing exactly the fucking same. cc2 has mastered anime graphics. story/minigames might as well be dropped -- nobody has done it right, but 8ing has the most painless approach out of the three.Snaku said:

fyi, before i went to sleep last night, i saw the "storm pack 3" on the ps store last night for US
I am sooo ticked off right now. Just got back from Gamestop with the LE but the store employees said they have not heard of any pre-order bonus or anything, so I had to wait for the manager to come back. One of the employees said it was in the package, yea right. Once he came back he checked the computer and sure enough there WERE pre-order bonuses, but the manager checked the counter and backroom and said there were none. The computer states they have 5 of them in the store. I had called yesterday at 7pm and someone there said they had not only the LE but the pre-order bonus, however today it is no where to be found.
The manager was kind enough to call another gamestop that has a code and hold it for me.

Basically, if you finish a fight using Naruto's ultimate jutsu, the opponent's scream freezes and only stops when you exit to the menu. After installing the update it didn't occur again, but I only did one battle after that so I may have been just lucky.
Apparentely, it's not just Naruto's ultimate that does it but every ultimate attack that ends with a ground explosion. It's like the opponent keeps hitting the ground repeatedly so the sound loops again and again.

The update adds Shizune as a support-only character and unlocks a pyjama costume for Naruto, with added Sleep Mode awakening. After installing this update I played a battle and ended it with the ultimate jutsu and the sound bug didn't occur. Maybe it will next time though. :/
