Thinking about making a point forward or a really long shooting guard. Not sure about school choices.
 
I usually play a guard so I'm thinking of trying out a big man of some sort. It looks like UCLA isn't in the game anymore so I don't know which college I'll pick.
 
I don't like basketball enough to spend $90, but I may download 2K16 sometime. I'll give this a shot (after it takes hours to download), though.
 
Kind of sucks that they only let you play through it once. I'm going to try deleting the save data later to see if that does anything.

And it looks like they start you off with a bullshit 55 rating again.

Edit:Deleting your save data doesn't let you play through again. A message pops up saying it detected you've completed it.
 
Some Impressions:
- Controls feel tighter, specially on D, a lot less "warping" magnetically than previous years, which is a great thing
- Saw the cpu and myself miss the rebound but tip it to teammates, which they mentioned had been added this year, looks so good and natural
- Animation and movement feels more fluid again over 16 but hard to say without using nba players
- Presentation is off the charts and I believe this is the year they really nail it
- Replay system seems fixed saw replays of a lot better plays already like big rebounds and putbacks with and1's etc
- Visually it looks quite similar to 16 for me but im on xbone. Maybe a tiny bit sharper AA possibly im not sure.

Overall, loving it already and can't wait for the full release but bear in mind i love 2K and basketball in general...
 
And I was thinking about skipping this years version....

That was a great video. A lot of love going into an area that is recycled year in year out.

Now my only dilemma, PC or PS4/PS4pro, Lol.

Downloading now, hope they localise the Xbox servers soon like they promised at e3 I have a 200mb connection and I'm not even close to maxing it.

How could they not include any controls options or settings in the game? When do you release the right stick for shots? I've tried when the white bar is full but it misses most of the time.
 
Not much has changed in my eyes in terms of gameplay, it's just annoying how you only have a 55 rating (I know why) it's just the same as always!

Which doesn't make me wanna buy it once again, I'm not even willing to comment on the 'story' I appreciate giving us a taster though.

Ok what the hell.. played 3 games this morning. Went to play the rest and it acts as if I am back at the beginning.. My money is there is the corner but my player is gone?? WTF

Edit: Ok second load .. sort of loaded it.. progess is there but my guy looks totally different???

Plenty of great high school players were bums going into the NBA back in the day. Hell, plenty of great college players are bums going into the NBA and some were great in high school and were bums in college.

Just because you put up 30 points against 5'10 centers doesn't mean you should be an 85

But you should be able to hit an open layup or free throw. When I went from U17 basketball to Division I English National Basketbal League in the same season (dat not-so-stealth boast), I didn't suddenly lose the ability to hit open layups, jumpers or three throws.

Does anyone know if this is just a demo and not a full college career. I know it's very short from what I read. Will the full game include more college games or anything else before getting drafted?

I doubt it, it will prob be the same thing

Last year was 4 college games too, but had 3 HS games
 
difficulty really jumps up from first to second game. I turned off XBO after I was losing badly, only to restart at the same point of me losing badly. well played 2K, force me to finish & lose this game, that I already have 4 fouls against me. I would delete, but its like a challenge now, I may lose this game, but next? nope.
 
Seriously, wtf? Are 2K incapable of providing any sort of fucking tutorial or instruction for the new shot meter?

I've only previously ever played 2K16 so I have no idea whether the controls stay consistent cos I can't even fucking bring up the controls when pausing. Such basic shit should not be guesswork.

Really not feeling it right now. It feels like I have to work out the controls, again, rather than be given at least some form of cursory tutorial.

If it wasn't for the fact I know 2K16 is immensely rewarding, this prelude would be enough to put me off 2K17 if I was a 2K noob.
