Don't want to say too much about this stuff as I know you get banned if you talk about this dirty word. I would like to thank Flavor for this special item. I bought this for myself as I have a small but decent quality games from the Neo Geo Pocket but they is certain games I didn't have a chance to get it at a reasonable price. Also, I like this type of stuff and interested about this for a bit when I found out about it. Took the bullet and get myself this item. Just got it today and this might be a very quick impression.
1st impression, a very simple package with the item you see above (it's inside a small plastic bag with the mail bag when sending to me). They is the cable, the cart, an extra sticker, and the card of the person who make this and also a nice sentence at the back.
I follow the link which take me to the person page and go to the download link. You need to download two software. One is to get the cart to work on the computer and the 2nd is to get the software in the cart. Isn't too hard if you follow the instruction.
When testing the cart, the homebrew I did a test didn't work and actually turn off the handheld. After reading the instruction, I manage to found out the issue and solve it and manage to get the homebrew to work on my handheld.
Did a few minutes test on a game and have to say it work without any issue for now. Also, the neo geo pocket on the pic is front lit which you might not notice it because when I took the pics.
I guess the only improvement I would say for this cart is the built-in switch.
It's the small hole on the left of the cart. It isn't easy to change it and you need some sort of a small pin to change. It might be better if the switch is either a bit bigger or much easy to switch like literally a button you press. It isn't bad for now but a bit worry to change game as I don't want to break it. Also, this cart is hand built which mean they is a chance it won't be 100% perfect. The connector part of the cart where the usb cable connect, you can see the person need to cut that area out and you can see where it was been cut. Not really an issue for me at all.
Overall, a good cart for people to test out some homebrew. It isn't cheap at $79.95 USD but for me, it's worth the money to try out some games or homebrew stuff on my pocket.
