I went on a little bit of a buying spree the past couple weeks and decided to pick up a handful of PS2 games that I've never played. I'm currently playing through DMC1. Any recommendations on what to play next?

I can't tell because the photo is too blurry, but what I'm looking at doesn't appear to be Aloe, it's Haworthia, probably Haworthia fasciata or Haworthia attenuata. Both are in the same family (Asphodelaceae), but different genus than Aloe. There are a few Aloe species (A. aristata is one that's semi-common), that have the kind of spotting your plant shows, but it's pretty common and if you bought at a grocery store or nursery, unabled, it's almost certainly Haworthia. If it's Aloe, you'll know because of the thickness and fleshiness of the leaves compared to most Haworthia.

The other plant you posted is definitely Calathea though, probably Calathea zebrina or similar.

I wish more people would post plants in here instead of geeky stuff :/

Got a couple comics & books on top of that, but it felt good to go out and buy some records.

An awful season but holy shit is the disc art sexy. I'm seriously considering double-dipping on the Blu-ray version just because of how hot the discs look. This also marks the first time I've gotten an accordion Simpsons box set from Amazon with no damage to the discs!

When they say no direct sunlight, they basically mean "don't put it outside in open sun". Sunlight rapidly diminishes when it comes in through your window, so it will almost certainly be fine a few feet away from a window with sunlight. The best windows in your house for sun are south-facing, following by east or west (Calathea would be best here), followed by north which gets the least light. If you find the leaves burning on the tips or the foliage "bleaching out" there's too much light.

The biggest faux-pas that new plant owners make is overwatering their plants. It's almost impossible to kill a plant through underwatering; you'll notice it droop and look shitty long before you actually manage to kill it. On the other hand, overwatering is fairly easy to do and the signs of it sometimes follow permanent damage.

I can't tell from your photo if the pot has a drainage hole or what kind of potting soil it's in. The two basic rules for almost every plant? 1) Make sure it's not sitting in water. Pots with drainage holes are ideal for this reason. 2) Only water the plant when it is dry and water deep. Stick your finger in the soil at least an inch (to the second knuckle of your pinky is a good measure). If the soil feels dry down to there, you're good to water. Water deep--if there's a drainage hole, keep pouring water until water streams out the bottom. It's very rare that you'll have to water more than once a week.

Calathea, like most house plants, are tropical and so like high humidity. If your house is very dry, consider a humidifier or if not, mist the plant from a spray bottle every once in a while.

FYI: Bluray is only 3 disks. Disk art for DVD disks 3 and 4 are both on Bluray disk 3(IE both Bart and Lisa).

Oh yes Smithers was hard to find because they overpacked Homer and Bart in Series 1 cases and Walmart refused to sell him because he's gay. I think I paid like $80 for my Smithers durring the height of the eBay craze(and when the Canadian $ was crap):lol

I have a complete WOS collection as well. All 16 series, Exclusives, Mailaways, everyting. None of it's worth much money anymore apart from Town Square and Evil Homer.

I don't have a complete set - I think I stopped collecting around series 8 or 9. I think I got all the mail-aways up to that point, but I missed out on several playsets.

I got this mouse as a replacement for my G7 (second G7 I had break, though I still love that mouse). I had to send my G7 in, but I am really liking this mouse so far. One of the nicest (non-gaming) features thus far is the "button" where you rest your thumb and it tiles all your programs....really nice for multi-tasking. Also the hyper-scrolling wheel option is really nice as well. Overall a great mouse IMO thus far, but I don't think I'd pay the $100 they ask for it in Best Buy stores.

Yes it's short for Simpsons Collector Sector. It's a simpsons collectors community/fan site. It was a jumping place when Simpsons collecting was hot. I still reccomend checking it out.

Anyway I was a little confused. Smithers was in series 2. I think Lisa was the rarest figure in series 1.

I tried finding its species online and then quickly gave up seeing how many species of Aloe there are. Here's a better picture of it.

I bought a spray bottle yesterday which I used to mist its leafs. The air in my room tents to be very dry so I'll probably do so on a daily basis.
My biggest fear is indeed overwatering the plant. I have virtually no clue how much water I should pour in.

The pot in which the plant came has four drainage holes. However I doubt those will do much good considering the black pot it sits in has none.

Just got a new monitor. Or should I say, just got my second new monitor in a week. Initially I ordered the HP 2310m, but it was so bright and glossy that I was having difficulty looking at the screen without getting headaches. My eyes literally hurt looking at it, so it got shipped back, and I went with my trusted brand, ASUS.

Got the ASUS MS238H 23" LED-backlit LCD monitor. I was using an ASUS VK266H 25.5" LCD monitor prior to getting this today. It was great for PC/Mac use, but I got tired of the 16:10 aspect ratio affecting console games, so I decided to get a 16:9 monitor.

The MS238H is awesome! Very similar image to my other ASUS monitor, but the white levels are brighter/whiter and the monitor itself is incredibly thin and light. It uses a touch panel in place of buttons. The trade-off is that it doesn't have built-in speakers or a webcam, but I don't need the latter and it's got a speaker output for HDMI, so I'm good to go with my PC speakers.

It's great for console gaming (just like the "Evo monitor") and has a 2ms refresh rate with no input lag issues. Pretty nice for only $199.

I picked up this monitor as well (thanks to your post). Was getting tired of my HP w2228h, terrible viewing angles and a washed out look.

This looked like a steal at a little over 200 euro.
