Wow that was a lousy trailer. Hopefully there's something good at E3. I'm sure the game will be fun but man that trailer did absolutely nothing for me.

Camilla Luddington on the other hand, she does much for me. I thought she sounded almost as nice as she looks. Which is to say very good.

Keeley Hawes is so much better at it than Luddington. We took a massive step down when she left. I'm also slightly curious as to if you will ever find it within yourself to be genuinely critical of this game.

i actually agree. it's definately CGi, but it's not super impressive CGi. and for a SECOND CGi trailer being shown, i expected it to be mind blowing. something akin to the CGi in COD advanced warfare.

The Lara voice is the worst thing about the recent reboot of Tomb Raider. They should really stop it with the long monologues for these trailers.

When I played the 2013 game it was the most awkward voice acting I have heard for a lead character outside a Final Fantasy game in recent memory.

Why is SE so obsessed with CG trailers? CG trailers are only good when paired with gameplay trailers. A CG trailer on its own tells us nothing about the game, and in two years all we have seen of this game is not one but two CG trailers. If your game isn't far enough along to show gameplay then don't announce the damn thing. Another CG trailer after two years of waiting for this game does nothing but piss me off. If they insist on doing one of these E3 teaser trailers at least make it a super quick in engine trailer like EA did for NFS.

Luddington really cannot be judged yet until the game releases right now I have no problem with the sequel seeing so far we have not seen any gameplay. Down the line maybe but right now I cannot be critical for no reason to do so

i'm not nitpicking. i'm complining about crappy voice work through an entire game and 2 CGi trailers. it's not good voice acting. it just isn't. just like FF voice acting isn't good either. if you can ignore it then good for you, but i can't. it detracts from the entire experience and makes her character more annoying then she should be. if ellie had this level of voice acting i'd have liked the last of us far less.

I'm saying it's my personal preference to have a more action oriented title. If it works out for them and they sell tons of games then I can't fault the change in direction. They will lose the people like me who gave up on Tomb Raider in the past but came back and enjoyed the reboot. They'll have to hope that they gain more "adventure" people than they lose "action" people.

Unfortunately for them they'll have to do quite a bit a marketing because most people will now expect a game like the last one. I predict that there will be a backlash from people like me who will buy Rise of the Tomb Raider expecting a more action oriented title and be bored when there is no one to shoot.
