Next gen 1st party is looking really good.

The variety of games that we have coming going into this gen is hands down better than any previous gen. Sony's 1st party looks strong as always but most of all its really good to see that Microsoft's 1st party is also looking strong which in the past has not been the case. Looking foward to seeing these next events in August to see what else we get. :messenger_beaming:

To be honest I don't care about the quantity as much as I care about the quality. But got to give it to them to be fair, we might actually have a proper launch titles this time since god knows when.

yep the CG is looking pretty good.
Yes. I amazed that MS still hasn't really shown anything. I mean, over the last 5 years we have had something like two Forza Motorsport, two Horizons, Crackdown, Ori, Gears, State of Decay and Sea of Theives.? That's about it. Am I missing anything big? What the hell have they been doing all of these years?

Is the general consenus that the Avowed trailer had in-engine footage at the end after the arrow lands? I keep seeing people implying that but I thought it was just CGI, not even in-engine.

I also thought Project Mara was connected to Hellblade 2, is it a separate project?

I mean, I was really excited for Everwild when I was watching the trailer, thinking it looked really cool and then they say "Oh we don't really know what kind of game we are making yet" and my heart sunk, what is that then, just CGI? A target render?

I don't understand whats going to be available at launch apart from Halo: Infinite.

Gee I wonder why until 2018 they had basically 4 AAA studios thank to the CEO purging the division after Dons failure. Rare sea of thieves, turn 10 forza , playground forza horizon and the coalition gears 5. Phil did not convince the CEO until 2018 gaming was worth while with gamepass and the new studios were purchased. 2018 plus 4 to 5 years to make a game do the math ffs.

This meme will never not be funny.
Drive by trolling every single xbox thread. It is tiresome at this point thr OP can't discuss this with out all these shit posts. See above also.

Kena looks a million times better than Everwild. I think it's only fair that it gets namedropped here.

Total rubbish. Are Sony even trying to get us excited?

But seriously it almost looks as good as that money-shot in UC4 of the <spoiler> town you explore with <spoiler>. You guys know the one.

for real this game may be the single strongest reason i get a ps5... a fresh take on the zelda formula...
We need to see more of this first. Isn't this being made by a very small team? It looks nice, but I'm not sure what the game is really.

If you are pushing stuff like Project Mara you are really reaching.
Then you don't even list proper games like Returnal and Astro's Playroom.

Forza Motorsport is definitely a 2021 title. Jeff Grubb said it, and Phil's Spencer said their first party cadence will be much more consistent after SeriesX launch.

We got a Release date for Demon'S Souls?
I only saw the intro on the conference and a few images after, nothing about a release date.

Edit : Given Polyphony History as well i'm surprised you are putting it in 2021.

That may be true, but at least we already know what to expect gameplay wise ...
Demon´s Souls RE is definitely set for 2021.

Did the devs say anything? Cause all we were shown was a Remake Intro and some images.
Hopefully it's 2021 but i'm not that confident.

Edit: What does Everwild have anything to do with it? I didn't mention it in my post.

I think a lot of people expected Demon's Souls at launch so that's why the expectation is now definitely 2021.

That would mean Bluepoint would have 3.5 years for a comprehensive remake, which sounds reasonable.

Having said that, Sony seems to have so much for next year that I don't think it would hurt for 1 or 2 of those games to end up in 2022. I count 7 first part exclusives plus Ghost Wire, so that's, to put it mildly, more than enough.

I did not make the picture. Flight Simulator is a 1st party game. Are those 1st party?
Bluepoint and Sumo digital are not first party... But the Ip's are owned and the games are funded by Sony, the same thing with Destruction All Stars.

Astro's Playroom is made by Team Asobi! a SIE Japan division.

out of that image from OP

You gotta be trolling bro lol

Most hyped for avowed and flight, very pumped that flight is coming out very soon. Then moderately interested in fable, Forza, gt7, horizon 2 and demon souls ramake. Spider man could be something I'll play if there isn't other better options to keep me busy at the time.

no...i'm deadly serious. i've owned every Playstation since 1995 and will be getting a Series X.

you know not everyone has to get a PS5. not everyone hates Xbox. Not everyone needs to go along with the hivemind. I'm getting an Xbox for Halo, Forza, Flight Sim, Hellblade, Fable, State of Decay, Avowed, Everwild. The only games I'm interested in that are coming to PS5 are Horizon and Demons Souls.

not only exclusives but Series X has the better hardware and gamepass is really good value. I might get a PS5 in a few years if there are more exclusives that interest me but Xbox seems the perfect choice for me.

I agree with you, i'm just not confident with 2021 release date because nothing was shown at all, 0 gameplay, maybe we will get more stuff in August, but until then i'm skeptical of it.
Edit: Safer bet would be Ratchet, SackBoy and Horizon in my opinion to be released in 2021.

I'm getting some of those games too minus Halo and Fable if I still get a XSX but nevermind carry on 🤣

I honestly think all the first party games they revealed are currently planned for the first year of the console's life.

Sackboy - per Digital Foundry been in development for years. They said they expected it to be finished by now. It doesn't look that ambitious. I think it might be announced for launch, but certainly it'll be within the first year.

Destruction Allstars - again DF said Lucid has been working on it for years. I don't think you'd reveal a relatively minor game like that unless it's coming out quite soon. Very likely for the first year.

GT7 - a lot of people expected this as a launch game. I know PD hasn't always been the most prolific, but they've got a very solid base to work from in GT Sport and that game is nearly 3 years old now. Not certain for 2021 but more likely than not I'd say.

Ratchet- looks far along from the footage. Last game came out over 4 years ago. Seems almost certain for the first year.

Horizon - already announced as 2021. Would give them a good 4 years to have worked on it. Could slip due to Covid but as of now a first year title.

Rerurnal - I'm not as sure about this, but Housemarque haven't released anything for 3 years. Definitely a good chance we see this next year.

I've already commented on Demon's Souls.

Noppe, the new Horizon game comes out in 2021 and whe have to wait till August after the Sony show....

You misunderstand what I am saying. I never said that no 1st party games are coming out. Halo Infinite is a launch title for Series X. What I am saying is that we will have to rely 3rd party titles until the 1st party studios start to release games on consistent bases. That will take a couple years like it always does.

I dont care who makes the games. I only care about who owns the IP. Microsoft owns the Flight Simulator IP. Does Sony own the IP to Returnal?
