Okay, I'm hyped.
I love FIFA, and seeing it on a next-gen engine will be awesome - and a good indicator of any power increase. Not to sound too optimistic, but seeing an established multiplatform title make the jump to next-gen is always interesting because of the gap between its present iteration and the upcoming release.

Europe already knows PS4 exists, even moreso the truth for FIFA fans since it's being plastered at every football game.
But apparently they can skip Wii U? I don't think it's going to happen but it being next-gen exclusive for Xbox isn't entirely impossible.
Definitely don't think they'll do it though, doesn't make sense to let their competitors products to have a whole year on their own.

Then within 20 minutes after the show ends, it will be clarified the Nextbox only gets Exclusive DLC for both games and both games will release simultaneously on both next gen systems.....
It is anticlimactic to show off two annual release games at a new console reveal.....I was hoping for some new games or at least sequels, not these games...

Yeah I thought about this as well.
They probably can skip Wii U because it already appears on Ps3 and 360? Even the Gen3 version is not an exclusive at all. They dismissed Wii U in its entirety, labeling it futile and impossible to run their tech on (which is bs, I know). Perhaps they can make a FIFA not to appear when they take this approach.

Of course there will be a FIFA 14 for PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP and PSVita.
But why should they miss this opportunity to show their new version? It was always a multiplatform game.

fifa 13 was the bottom of the barrel for me and the fifa franchise...still the same idiotic IA,always the same importance of pacey players..still the same online problems ..even ultimate team is not fun anymore

FIFA handles the pro licence though , no point having something CL related if you can't use real names , commentary , strips or player likenesses.
I actually stopped at 10.
That's after being a FIFA devotee from 94. Series has REALLY declined in quality for me.

For me, after FIFA World Cup 2010 it went downhill year after year. I'm solely talking from a gameplay perspective. I think the EA Canada team need to invest much more on balancing gameplay features. They introduce new features only to ruin or mess up already existing ones. I'm not bothered to go into detail as this isn't the proper thread for it but I do hope the new next gen engine resolves a lot of the issues emerged in the past few years.

I stopped playing football games altogether after PES5. I tried both FIFA and PES since and they were never really good imo. FIFA usually became shit after a week or 2, when I found out how to always score and how limited and broken the system actually is. Current-gen PES is just shit from the get go.
Yes FIFA became better from 08 onwards, but its not my type of game. PES3 and PES5 are.
Its too bad that there aren't more studios trying their luck. Worldwide Soccer had its charm, even TIF did.

This year is different though. Both FIFA and PES are having new engines, so I'm approaching them with much more optimism.

Last minute prediction for games.
I always thought there would be 2-3 games shown. Now we know Fifa and Call of Duty are two of them I would put my money on the next Forza being the third game at the conference tomorrow.
Sport , Shooter, Racing - the three most popular genres, represented by 3 of the biggest names.
They only have an hour and want to focus on the console, so the rest I imagine will be at E3.

360 missed out on regular FIFA 06 which had much more features. RTWC came a fair few months later, and was essentially a stripped down version. This had to do with the timing of the 360 release.
It seems that EA changed their strat though, next-gen FIFA 14 will likely be the same game even though the next-gen system won't be here by September already (I doubt they will be). Although I suspect there will be much less leagues in the next-gen version. Unless it will be minor upgrade from 13.

RTWC was a setup game for FIFA 06: World Cup (which did come to 360), not a replacement for FIFA 06

Ummm, FIFA does not operate like the NFL or NBA where the licenses are exclusive. And, the CL license is exclusive to UEFA, the Champions League is not in FIFA at all. They call it the European Club Cup or something.

So two of the most boring and predictable games are gonna be shown tomorrow? I hope they just want to get this stuff out of the way so they can show actual new and interesting stuff. I know these are two of the biggest franchises in the world, but even non-gamers (who won't be watching the reveal anyway) have to agree that we want to see actual new exclusive games. I'm looking for a reason to buy the Infinite, or whatever they're calling it, and leading up to this I still haven't got one. I'll just wait and see until tomorrow I guess. It's gonna have to be pretty amazing at this point.

Why is that likely? Personally i think it is just as likely that the Xbox 720 and PS4 will be released or delayed in Europe.
EDIT: Released in 2013 that is. Both systems will release in Europe sooner or later of course
I havnt followed the Xbox thread that much, but what is the "Only on Xbox" stuff in the avatars? People who only own a Xbox 360? Or people who only will get a Xbox 720?

I'm not sure. I think GT6 will mainly cater to those who already got GT5, and i think Sony also believes this. This means that GT6 wont be much of a PS3 system seller.
I think the only reason why a european launch will be moved to 2014 instead of 2013 is because of production problems (as in, not able to produce enough units). I think this is something that both Microsoft and Sony faces equally.
EDIT: On 2nd thought, Xbox isnt really very popular in Japan, so Microsoft doesnt have to produce that much unit for Japan (unless they want to try a big push in Japan, but i'm not sure that will happen concidering how the Xbox and Xbox 360 sold there). But even so, i still think that both PS4 and Xbox 720 will be out in Europe in 2013.
to each their own, for me fifa 13 is the best fifa so far and i believe for a lot of people as well, just look at the sales of the game

Me too, this CGI stuff needs to go away. In game footage only for any game reveal. If it's too early in development then don't show it.
