Next-Gen Pokemon (3DS/"Cafe") Speculation

D/P was way worse. At least until Platinum came along. Seriously it was a chore to get through that game.
I fell asleep twice during my Diamond playthrough. When I woke up, the battery was already dead and I just didn't care. I just didn't give a single fudge. I came to realization Diamond is a waste time.

that's where the magic of one handed play and multitasking comes in!

No, no, no, no, no, no.

Not Hoenn. Not Hoenn.

This man, he gets it. The only good thing to come from Gen 3's Hoenn region is the Battle Frontier and there is no way in hell I'm torturing myself with WATER WATER EVERYWHERE AND A BUNCH OF RANDOM ENCOUNTERS ON IT for that again.

BTW: That (BF) SHOULD'VE BEEN IN BLACK/WHITE AS WELL. >:|

At least they finally gave us true random online battles instead of "HURR BUY A CONSOLE FOR THAT!" Battle Revolution. >:|

Pokemon Tactics, or bust, baby.

Willing to bet that the Japanese will be playing MagmaRuby/ AquaSapphire this time next year.

Fully 3D, Pokedex 3D models, and orchestrated music. BELIEVE.

for a remake? no black and white in 3d at best

I know you're joking but have the battles look similar to that would be pretty cool, when they eventually take the series to that next level. Obviously I mean more refined, but similar concept.

Masuda has opened a Twitter account, and has stated that Ruby and Sapphire are very "worthy" of an upgrade.

MagmaRuby AquaSapphire confirmed.

I'd wager that after you beat the E4 you take an airplane to Unova.

Yes. Yes! YES!

About. Time. The remake it truly deserves. It needs to be a graphical improvement if it's going to be on the 3DS. There needs to be some sort of region-hop to Unova or have some sort of connection to Grey as well.

I'm not really joking. I think having a tile-based tactics 'like' game, with a Pokemon twist would be so much more entertaining for me. Especially just in single player, whereas I don't care much about the metagame anymore. The attacks would change drastically, as would statistics. It would give the series a chance to fix their issue with 3/4ths of fully evolved Pokemon being useless.

I'd be very excited to see it. I love the Ranger games because they offer a much more unique experience, but the micro managing and training we could mix in with a tactics title would be all the better.

I'd sell my arms for a R/S remake. Fucking loved Hoenn. Varied environments, great music... easily my favorite region before Unova came along.

I hope for a R/S sequel rather than a remake. Set it a few years later, and have a jetski rental shop open up in Lilycove. Bam, instantly quicker.

I actually think they're going to significantly change up Hoenn's geography, to get the best of the 3D if nothing else. There's a great region in Hoenn if they strip some of the fat away; the mainland is my second favourite area, behind Unova.

The Battle Frontier's almost certainly going to be in Grey; they've got those conveniently unused train stations to put the facilities in.

I agree. I love R/S/E. My favorite region by far.

I'm playing through Emerald right now, and I'm still in love with how gorgeous Hoenn is. The rainy routes, especially. Bring on the remake, plz!

Also, please make the PCs in Secret Bases actually work this time.

Although, there'd be quite the pain of going through and balancing the game for 649 individuals. Maybe, you could have each Pokemon fitting into a class, instead of having the class be the Pokemon itself. Like a Hitmonchan monk, or a Gardevoir red mage. From there, have their base stats mix with the class's growth rate to create variances among Pokes at the same class level.

Aside from that, for those who want to see the tweet link: http://twitter.com/#!/Junichi_Masuda/status/122941791392636928

Is this what you're talking about? http://twitter.com/Junichi_Masuda/status/122941791392636928

Go Nintendo had it saying,
"Thanks for your thoughts. Ruby and Sapphire are important games to me. I will consider your request."

And a Google translate gives something that sounds like that. Whare are you getting this worthy of a remake stuff?

On another note, don't Pokepark 2's Snivy, Oshawott, and Tepig models look very familiar? It seems they are already using those Pokedex models in other games.

Pokemon universe is great and (despite the milking) it feels so under-used. So much untapped potential.

Thing is it's got to the point where certain tropes are so strong that they can't NOT be in there or else they break the formula, alienate the fanbase, disappoint new fans etc.

A spin off is much needed.

Obviously, B/W didnt have a BF because the R/S remakes or Grey will feature it in Hoenn.!

But no one but insane people want to go through R/S remakes for it! Grey, I'd understand but I rather have the BF in Pokemon Black because Black > * in naming conventions. >:|

Well I can't see them going further anytime soon, Having a Gen IV remake on 3ds would just feel trippy.Heck having a gen IV remake anytime before 2018 or so would just feel weird.

I think it's time for another Red/green remake.

Original Red/Green came out 02/27/96
GBA version came out almost 7 years 11 months 2 days later 01/29/04

7 years 11 months 2 days after that would be 12/31/11.

Eh, no more Kanto. It's been in every single gen before 5. :|

OH MY GOD THEY COULD MAKE PACIFIDLOG TOWN NOT LAME

do it do it do it do it
How about they change the name so I can fucking pronounce it. What the fuck is that shit. It's like hieroglyphics

DoomXploder7 said:
So crappy I can't even recall which one that is. Is it the Log one...in the Pacific Pacifid?

Yes, the one with 3-4 houses in the middle of the ocean barely connected by thin logs. Not worth shit except for the Mirage Island guy.

They could make it an actual town now. Literally made of logs, even!

the possibilities are mouthwatering aaaaaaah

Maybe they could make the rival not puss out this time.

Yeah I hate this "we're rivals but also best friends!" crap. We need a new entitled jerk who's been bullying us all of our lives to be our rival. It makes the gratification of beating him way that much stronger

Not that, I actually like friendly rivals. Never have been too fond of the cliche jerk rival. I mean the whole "not having a battle with them after Lilycove" bit. You don't even get to face their starter's final form, for Christ's sake!

Bah, you know what I mean. :V

It'd be enough if Nintendo took a small step forward with a top-down Pokemon RPG on the 3DS, only in 3D with battles in full 3D.

Save the Pokemon MMO with no random battles (you can see pokemons in the grass) for a fully 3D (non top-down view) game on either the 3DS or Wii U.

I want a sprite free pokemon game on 3DS. Sorry purists, but its time for something new

I've made my views on how the series needs to change known. These have nothing to do with the battle system, the setting/story, the environments, the multiplayer options or anything to do with what made the games great in the first place. My frustrations centre mostly around the user interface. The mainline Pokemon games are polished to a gleaming shine but somehow manage to retain terrible, inconsistent menu design and use clunky mechanics (like HMs) long after their purpose is made redundant. There isn't any excuse for it and keeping HMs in Gen V was like not having a retry button in a racing game.

I don't expect Gen VI to put the 3DS's features to their most efficient use. These are the people, after all, who didn't put any DSi-enhanced features (like WPA support) into HGSS, the same people who failed to implement touch-driven menus or drag-and-drop box management in DP. I do hope, however, that they finally fix the problems I have with the clunky UI. At this point, I want them to make most of the routine tasks in the games to be as fast, efficient and automatic as possible.

People seriously want a R/S/E remake? I nearly quit when I realized half the game was surfing on Random Encounter Ocean and that I needed way too many HM slaves. Worst region ever.
