I was quoted by Bo about spiderman, trying to tell me that "its a full remaster and therefore should be paid in full"Then access your digital purchase or disc and play it if you want to play your original game, no one is gonna stop you doing that. If you want a remastered version of it that has all DLC, updated graphics and gameplay mechanism as well as an entire new game, get the ultimate edition. TLOU had the same treatment when being carried over from PS3 to PS4.
Your point has been made and many don't agree with you. No one is forcing you to buy this, if this truly is a problem for you your original ps4 spiderman will work fine. If you truly are intended to buy a PS5 then vote with your wallet, otherwise you come across to the rest us as another entitled Karen.
No I'm not trying to insult you, I think you need to realise you have a tendency to argue a point beyond what is considered reasonable or debatable.
Shark being dumb.
Again answering a question with a questionthat is for the ps5 version. you still think ps4 version will load at <<0.87s>> ?
also, very funny how all the people in here that were having serious heartbeats FOR MONTHS whether ps5 would be 400 or 500,
now suddenly are so flush about paying 80e for enhanced versions of games they already have....
Very few games will want to bother supporting Dolby Vision because its expensive, and most users don't have a display capable of that standard.I disagree with this. I understand not licensing Dolby Atmos/Vision for cost reasons but Vision is such an improvement over HDR10 that it would suck not to have support.
If they do stick with HDR10 I hope theres some degree of standardization so the implementations aren’t so inconsistent.
the question is: DO THEY EVEN SPEND THE MONEY?its embarrassing the length some people go to defend spending money on their fav brand
I have no feelings about Spiderman either way. The real question is whether or not you think a real remaster like Demon's Souls will be worth $70. Leaning towards a yes based on what I've seen so far.its embarrassing the length some people go to defend spending money on their fav brand
the question is: DO THEY EVEN SPEND THE MONEY?
all these months there was daily heartbeat here, for if the entire console would cost 4 or 5 -or Oh God forbid No!- 6 hundred bucks.
for a thing that would last them 5 years, and they wanted it to be "the best" also.
suddenly, being asked 80e for being able to play the game you own and that was shown since 6 months as "case example" of ps5 prowess is ...peanuts to the same people and well-deserved!
My logic really doubts that these people are spenders. they seem to be talkers.
Reality says there are 12million spiderman copies sold. There must be many millions who feel the same as me.
I doubt if there are even thousands that act like the people in here about this subject.
They are speculating about XSX, not PS5. XSX might have do this, even though it's unnecessary. I see no reason why either console would need to dump the full game to disk, it's not rocket science to avoid it and offers little benefit to do it now with the new SSD speeds.Digital Foundry has already said it saves the entire RAM cache to the SSD. So 13.5 GB per game max for XSX, and 9 GB for Xbox One X games.
"When you leave a game, system RAM is cached off to SSD and when you access another title, its cache is then restored. From the perspective of the game itself, it has no real idea what is happening in the background - it simply thinks that the user has pressed the guide button and the game can resume as per normal.
We saw Xbox Series X hardware cycling between Forza Motorsport 7 running in 4K60 Xbox One X mode, State of Decay 2, Hellblade and The Cave (an Xbox 360 title). Switching between Xbox One X games running on Series X, there was around 6.5 seconds delay switching from game to game - which is pretty impressive. Microsoft wasn't sharing the actual size of the SSD cache used for Quick Resume, but saying that the feature supports a minimum of three Series X games. Bearing in mind the 13.5GB available to titles, that's a notional maximum of around 40GB of SSD space, but assuming that the Velocity Architecture has hardware compression features as well as decompression, the actual footprint may be smaller. Regardless, titles that use less memory - like the games we saw demonstrated - should have a lower footprint, allowing more to be cached."

This is it. After months of teaser trailers, blog posts and even the occasional leak, we can finally reveal firm, hard …www.eurogamer.net
Oh, and a pc-running Halo Infinite gameplay video and screenshots that look like shit.
If I was MS, I would be less inclined to talk about VRS, 25TFs, memory born out of thin air and crap like that, and actually SHOW some damn next-gen gameplay. Just to know what the damn thing can ACTUALLY do.
All USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 products use the Type-C connector, but not all USB-C ports are USB 3.2 Gen 2x2. A USB-C port can be either 20Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 or 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2. A USB Type-A port can be 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2, 5Gbps 3.2 Gen 1 or even USB 2.0. So provided they're not using USB-C 2x2 variant, there is no reason they have different speeds.Probably the right decision to include USB-A to USB-C cable. I wouldn’t want to use up the 10Gbit USB-C port on charging a controller. Keep that free for external SSD or HDD.
Well Horizon started development earlier for sure and Spiderman is rather iterative (relatively), I think GOW in contrast is a full next-gen sequel.
At least I hope so.
If true this is why I believe they should have just focused on PSnow and left BC alone... It seems a waste of time and money to for only having PS4 games run smoother with more stable frame rates but without any additional features added such as higher resolution or RTSo no resolution boost ? Really ? Nooooooooooooooooooooo
Or they could just do the same thing as PS4.They are speculating about XSX, not PS5. XSX might have do this, even though it's unnecessary. I see no reason why either console would need to dump the full game to disk, it's not rocket science to avoid it and offers little benefit to do it now with the new SSD speeds.
The USB names are a mess. Gen1, Gen2x1, Gen1x2, Gen2x2, it sucks. So provided they're not using USB-C 2x2 variant, there is no reason they have different speeds.
Well, to be fair Demon's Souls is a full on remake like Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3, Zelda Link's Awakening Remake, Yakuza Kiwami, etc.I have no feelings about Spiderman either way. The real question is whether or not you think a real remaster like Demon's Souls will be worth $70. Leaning towards a yes based on what I've seen so far.
Dolby Vision is used by many streaming services including Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+, so there are definitive benefits outside UHD BD. Other than that, I do not disagree, the benefits for a game over HDR10 is probably questionable as games typically do tone mapping and all that anyway. It's another buzz words XBox that put in their spec sheet, they like that.Very few games will want to bother supporting Dolby Vision because its expensive, and most users don't have a display capable of that standard.
I understand that PS5 users would want Dolby Vision support for UHD Blu-ray playback. But many PS5s will be digital only, and so I doubt Sony would want to pay Dolby for that.
Dolby Vision is just a higher standard. Most games can't even deliver well implemented HDR thats meets the HDR10 standard.
But if its that important, buy an Xbox. They are supporting Dolby A/V all the way.
USB 4 is supposed to fix the naming confusion, so we can only hope. The USB names are a mess. Gen1, Gen2x1, Gen1x2, Gen2x2, it sucks.
That's pretty decent for a console.Sony included 2 USB-A 10 Gbps on the back, and on the front 1 USB-A 5 Gbps and 1 USB-C 10 Gbps. It looks like the front USB-A at 5 Gbps will be used for charging controllers. The 10 Gbps USB-A ports on the back should be great for fast data transfer to external HDDs.
Maybe, but the risk of pissing off the customer base is too great. They may have also figured the jump to a wider GPU wasn't worth the cost versus keeping it at 36 CU. With the addition of the cache scrubbers, geometry engine tweaks, and clocking it so high, probably helps it punch above it's weight. I dunno. Just spitballing. If true this is why I believe they should have just focused on PSnow and left BC alone... It seems a waste of time and money to for only having PS4 games run smoother with more stable frame rates but without any additional features added such as higher resolution or RT
At least with the XSX via ML games are visually improved
I do believe the PS5 would have been more powerful if they had left BC out of it when designing the console

Suspending more than one game is necessary if you have more than one person using the console. What happens if both me and my son want to suspend different games? Or even the same game but on different accounts?Well suspending and resuming 1 game sure. But multiple games? Useless, just save and quit. Waste of SSD space. For every game suspended, the SSD would have 13 GB less space. So thats 13 for 1 game, then 26, 39, and it could really add up.
Suspending 1 game when the console goes into rest mode is great, same as PS4. After that, no need. Plus it doesn't even work with multiplayer games. And I would never want to jump back and forth quickly from 2-3 singleplayer games. For every singleplayer game I play, I'm going to play just that 1 game for at least 30 mins or hours, then save and quit if/before I start another one.
There is simply no doubt that the XSX on paper, the more powerful machine. However again, speaking to developers the development environment they are dealing with some people seem to be extremely happy with it, other people are having problems with it because they've moved away from what was previously the XDK which was specific for the Xbox to the GDK which is a more general environment for PC and for Xbox and even Xbox one is encompassed by the GDK
Every single developer I've spoken to developing for PS5 has been evangelising how easy it is to work for, Its essentially the same development environment as PS4 and you scale up from there, for the new powers, the features and whatnot. I can't stress enough how happy developers seem to be with this situation

It looks like MS is using general development kit for Xbox that encompasses PC and Xbox which means thicker layer of abstraction and inefficient use of the specific hardware. This has benefits for BC in the future xboxes but it will limit its performance.
That 12TF will be severely limited by this GDK. This is what the Crytek graphics rendering engineer has been saying all along.
Contrast that with the efficiency of the PS5 development kit and API.

ehh suspend is used on PS4 for turning the console off (rest mode). For suspending game play.Suspending more than one game is necessary if you have more than one person using the console. I keep hearing this about the layers. What I don't know is how much it affects the performance. Does anyone have an idea?
Did you miss the part where two people want to resume their games from exactly the same point they left? That's what I'm talking about no matter what name you want to give to it.ehh suspend is used on PS4 for turning the console off (rest mode). For suspending game play.
If you're going to start playing a 2nd game, I'd say just save and quit. Games have plenty of checkpoints.
I keep hearing this about the layers. What I don't know is how much it affects the performance. Does anyone have an idea?
Let's ask sir HeisenbergFX4 and BGs .
What I do know is that the layer has to be thick in order for it to work for both PC and Xbox. They are basically treating Xbox as PC now.

So, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will require a later update in Xbox to have Raytracing...
¿Do you think Sony is money-hatting this update? or Maybe ... It's just more easy to put RT in Sony's hardware than in XSX... Let me know your comments...

Flashier visuals, crazier action. Devil May Cry 5 is back, now upgraded for next-generation consoles! Includes the fan-favorite Vergil as a playable character!www.devilmaycry.com
Its just not a very needed feature. I understand you'd want that, but I think its just a waste of the SSD space. No worries.Did you miss the part where two people want to resume their games from exactly the same point they left? That's what I'm talking about no matter what name you want to give to it.
It means the XSX's GPU and CPU would perform closer to similarly specced PC parts, rather than the higher performance consoles benefit from by close optimization, or "coding to the metal". To what extent this may affect performance, we've yet to see.I keep hearing this about the layers. What I don't know is how much it affects the performance. Does anyone have an idea?

He's going to start unblocking people soon enough. This is what he craves.TheGreatWhiteShark Can tag me all you want I dont read your posts, I just give you an lol because you have been wrong so many times I lost count.
I never put people on ignore in case they eventually can have some sort of useful info but you are border line making my first.
They did and gameplay
Well... I'm glad to be wrong! Bring on those 12TF.
It’s performance. But devs will solve it, I thinkI think some developers are struggling with the dev kits for some reason. Which is why ray tracing seems a bit more scarce on Xbox at the moment. It's probably just a temporary issue.
