The level of detail has increased, and that's saying something, considering FH5 was already at a sublime level.

Article written. They say that the fact they were able to focus solely on the current generation of consoles and not on Xbox One will be noticeable in the detail of long distances,Threes, vegetation, and lighting...

"looking at our headlights and tail lights, we've got a new kind of refreactionbased shader on them this really gives them authentic look of depth and feel. Also with things like where you have polycarbonate style headlights, there's a sort of a kind of rainbow refraction effect that you get through there, like an iridescence as light cast through it. We've also reworked our materials used across the library of vehicles."

34. Rainbow specular highlight effects can be seen in headlight lenses because thin film interference is utilized.[/quote)

Q: Does Forza Horizon 6 on PC support ray tracing?

For players with compatible graphics cards, the PC version of Forza Horizon 6 supports Ray-Traced Reflections, which you will see on both cars and in the environment, and Ray-Traced Global Illumination, or RTGI for short. RTGI uses ray tracing hardware to compute more accurate indirect lighting and occlusion across both the open world environment and cars in real time.

Q: What updates have been made to the graphics options in Forza Horizon 6?

Forza Horizon 6 will feature the wealth of customizable settings that you've come to expect from Forza Horizon games. In addition, all of the PC render settings can now be changed without the need to restart the game. There are also live previews for many of the graphics settings, allowing you to easily see the visual changes you are making.

Finally RTGI confirmed. The pc version will look insane.
- RTGI check
- Full RT reflections (cars and environment) check
- DLSS 4 check
- Improved shaders check
- improved draw distance check

edit. Why is the link not working anymore with the pc screenshots.

only found this screenshot on another site.

Robust wheel support is nice. Something strange I heard was that ffb on Xbox was different and better than the PC version of FH5. Can anyone confirm that? Strictly talking wheels.

That's fantastic. RTGI was literally the one missing piece to compete their look. Can't wait to see it in action!

In terms of graphics, this is just not impressive to me. It looks marginally better than Horizon 5 which was carried more by art than it's rendering chops.

This just looks meh to me. There is something really wrong with their materials pipeline. Metal, plastic, rubber, they all look the same. A car comprised of differing types of materials and as a whole, it looks surprisingly flat.

As it should be in dark grey garage with diffused lighting. The materials looked really good outside the garage with proper lighting.

Also the materials in Forza Horizon 5 where already good outside missing fresnell glass shaders and some interior materials.

The lighting in the garage is sufficient to distinctly differentiate material properties. That being said, these look much better. It still has that Forza gamey look but, much better.

Looks great and the fact it's open world that's some impressive rendering.

Figured I'd share but I don't think anyone gives a fuck here lol. Anyways, I had tons of pics and a story, I built a simrig this week.

Anyone else been watching the pre release build previews? I know everyone's saying it's locked to 30fps quality mode, but is it Series X because I noticed RT seemed to be engaged. The cars and drivers are reflected in the wing mirrors and the wing mirrors themselves are reflected in the side windows, also some self reflections seem evident on body parts, rear wipers, wings etc.

DF has analyzed the preview footage, especially the official prologue video. They've definitely detected ray tracing in various areas, not just on the player's car (they even think they detected it on the chassis of the bullet train running alongside the cars, for example).

It's known that all the preview footage was for the Xbox Series X 30 FPS quality mode, so we can assume that the official prologue video was also for the Xbox Series X? 🤔
A precise confirmation would be great. It's a shame they sent the beta to people who can't distinguish ray tracing from SSR reflections. 🤦

Among other things, the confirmation of ray tracing on the Xbox Series X in quality mode would open the possibility of a 60fps performance mode where cuts wouldn't be necessary in other, more easily noticeable, visual aspects (besides reflections and resolution). That would be very welcome.

PS. On PC, ray tracing also extends to shading and GI, in addition to reflections.

Ok cool! There's none at all on 5 on series X quality mode so they seem to have extracted some more performance from somewhere. I definitely noticed it in the previews and you can even see wing mirrors being reflected in side windows on non player cars as well.

Interesting to see if it makes it into the final cut.

RTGI will be a big upgrade, I just hope it works in the cockpits this time unlike Forza Motorsport. I was so disappointed after seeing how good the visual target mod RTGI looked in FM.
