Same here.I had to wire the ps4 due to it dropping every few minutes. Wired has been flawless

Yeah they will probably drop local multiplayer off one copy. Proper Splatoon local multiplayer had the same issue on the Wii U. I bet a ton of games will end up doing this and just doing multiple switch local multiplayer. If Hyrule Warriors gets ported it will also have the same issue for co-op.From what we seen yes, but that means to get the full experience (granted the Wii U version was flawd in this aspect) you would need two consoles and two copies of the game. With the Wii U version you just need one copy of the game to enjoy multiplayer adequately. Pokken on Switch in docked mode means players looking at the TV with split screen perspectives.
Kids going to be dropping this thing a lot. What accessory will protect the device during drops?
My point was looking at a gaming population of a platform that both supports a wireless device (laptops) and wired devices.
...... Sigh 😥Hopefully that fight stick means Tekken 7 & Pokken tournament are there at launch.
That doesn't answer my question although I understand your point. But to call it niche I'd expect 1-3% usage compared to say 30% usage hardwired. Just throwing it out there if Steam has this information published since they can collect a lot of data on their users.
I think Steam is a good indicator here due to laptops and desktop usage.
That controller is a third party controller. They usually don't look great.
This is a third party controller. They're never good.
The official Switch Pro Controller won't be as good as the XB1 controller either, though.
Yeah but that doesn't help your case of justifying an ethernet port on consoles.
Capcom already has their hands full with Street Fighter V & Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.Nintendo vs Capcom Arcade Stick.
SHUT UPNintendo vs Capcom Arcade Stick.
lmfao, glad I saw that. Great minds think alike friend . But let's be honest though, it isn't gonna happen brethren. At least we got Dolphin I guess..... but it just isn't the same.
Fair enough. Isn't Pokken supposed to have a fairly barebones single player mode? I guess it'll be a Crystal Chronicles type of situation.

Please point me to where I was justifying having it? My question was genuine curiosity from the niche labeling. I even said its not a big deal to me.
Tekken 7 is likely a launch/early game and Pokken and Smash are probably not far down the road.
It'll be a hell of a lot closer to 1-3% than 30%
No one here is labeling ethernet port usage on computers as niche. The niche labeling in this thread is only applied on anything other than personal computers.
I have no problem with genuine curiosity but it's kind of off-topic to what this whole thread is discussing.
You're in the thread showing the adapter for it...!Too bad for no Ethernet port, let's see if there's an adapter for it.

The only way for Pokken to work with the Switch would be to have the split screen half like an old racing game, thus taking away a lot of player screen space.
SHUT UP
I'm gonna be so bummed if this isn't true now
The best selling versions of those streaming devices (Chromecast, Amazon Fire Stick, Roku Stick) don't have Ethernet. But almost most devices that hook to your tv have ethernet? So people calling it niche makes no sense. If ethernet port was so niche than why hasn't anyone who makes these stop putting them in them?
Amazon, apple, roku, even hard drive companies are not adding ethernet ports to their regular desktop external drives.

Scroll down a bit more. There's 3 seperate BotW accessories in French with Euros as the currency.
Wait, Why wouldn't the Switch support local multi-player? I mean, I'd be shocked if it didn't support multiple controllersThey can fuck off then. A fighting game with no local multiplayer is a waste of space and effort.
Of course it does.Wait, Why wouldn't the Switch support local multi-player? I mean, I'd be shocked if it didn't support multiple controllers
Ethernet chat: I honestly can't see Nintendo saving much more than a couple yen per unit by omitting an Ethernet port. That said, I'd imagine Nintendo (and Hori) would make quite noticeably more money by making Ethernet adaptors for the few people who are willing to pay the extra money for the improved internet performance that a wired connection grants. Plus, there's precedent to consider (literally every Nintendo console with online capabilities required an adaptor if you want to plug an ethernet cable into it).
In short: it's blatant profiteering that few people will care about (because for 99% of people, 5Gz Wi-fi is more than enough).
The arcade stick is likely for Street Fighter 5 and Tekken 7. Those are the most likely based on past support and timing. I'd say that odds favor Tekken over Street Fighter, but I surmise that both are coming at some point.
Wait, Why wouldn't the Switch support local multi-player? I mean, I'd be shocked if it didn't support multiple controllers
But why would anyone even be speculating that a game on the system lacks local multi-player or would require multiple Switches?Of course it does.
That sounds rather unlikely to me. It's more likely that you should be fine if you have multiple controllers. Only if you're lacking that would you need to have multiple Switches with multiple game copiesThe issue is not that it wouldn't support local multiplayer at all, but that it might require two consoles and probably two games.
Speaking of which, I wonder if Switch games would be too large to pull off single cart multiplayer a la (3)DS.
Profiteering off Ethernet adapters is one of the stupidest conspiracy theories around. It's like all the people saying adapter sales were the reason that headphone jacks were omitted in the iPhone 7. They don't make that much money off adapters. Especially not when Nintendo's last two consoles let you use any ethernet adapter you'd like and weren't proprietary.
Stop it. Just stop. It's not about big adapter money. Stop stop stop stop stop
Where did this idea come from? The issue is not that it wouldn't support local multiplayer at all, but that it might require two consoles and probably two games.
Lol, the threads we'll have on friday after the presentation.
"Switch less powerful than PS4 Pro, 720p, no ethernet port, no 500>GB of storage...
IN 2017?"

No way that's happening. I doubt Nintendo's newest console will prevent you from just using multiple controllersHe's suggesting that in order to have local multiplayer on those games you would need more than one Switch to make that work. I'm saying if you can't do local multiplayer without an additional console for a fighting game then that defeats the purpose of local multiplayer.
But why would anyone even be speculating that a game on the system lacks local multi-player or would require multiple Switches?
Honestly? If Nintendo didn't think they would profit from making ethernet adapters, they wouldn't make them. Ditto Apple and their many, many dongles.

It ain't SFV
Oh okay, so it's likely just a one off thing thenPokken requires two screens for multi. Wii U had that, Switch doesn't. It's just a Pokken thing
The damn thing comes with two controllers. No way that's happening. I doubt Nintendo's newest console will prevent you from just using multiple controllers
