Game looks fantastic but I hate super difficult games. Is it really that hard?
Yeah, add in digital and region-free hardware and you're really in a good place compared to 10-15 years ago. It's good to have that old-guy perspective sometimes lol
Best Buy FTW (in Canada). They're much more reliable than Amazon.ca. Waiting to start playing until after my dentist appointment today.Best Buy totally delivered this time around. 8 hours before digital. $25.
You don't need the "Only on Playstation" logo when you have no competition.
Coop it til the end of time!Game looks fantastic but I hate super difficult games. Is it really that hard?
I'm not that great at many games and don't pride myself of being a skillful player lol. I've beaten all Souls games, Ninja Gaiden & DMC games at my own pace. The beta got me hooked like no other game because the combat is so damn deep, satisfying/fun to play, and you get rewarded as much time as you put in. I think the game is challenging but the good kind of challenging where you are rewarded if you are observant, patient, and learn from your mistakes. It is incredibly satisfying to play once you have the mechanics down.Game looks fantastic but I hate super difficult games. Is it really that hard?
I had no interest in nor intention to get this game (played the demo long ago but I'm all Souls-ed out) until I saw the thread title.
Can I pretend I'm Lone Wolf and Cub?
no label for " only on playstation " ? sorry but ill wait for pc version then.

In case you're not joking, the game is Sony published, which usually means they own and control the IP.
So I wouldn't expect a PC port.
Ok, someone. Please god help me.
I start up the game. Doing the settings thing, PS4 spits disc out. Put Disc back in. Get into menu. Go to options. Oh my god everything is in japanese. Restart again. Still Japanese.
Oh my god. I know some japanese, but none of this fucking says 日本語 as far as I fucking know. I have no fucking idea what to do. My system language is set to english even.
Can anyone with a Classic PS4 and Nioh let me know how it looks at 60 fps versus 30? Is it worth loosing the 1080p for 60 fps?
Can you change this mid save game or only at the start? Can anyone with a Classic PS4 and Nioh let me know how it looks at 60 fps versus 30? Is it worth loosing the 1080p for 60 fps?
Lol, why would a display option be locked? You can change it at will. Can you change this mid save game or only at the start?

can't speak for all action game players, but 60fps is always preferred.
There's a reason why Demon's Souls is still a PS3 exclusive.
try uninstalling it and delete the save in case it saved some weird settings?

Oh thank god it's fixed. I still am scared my PS4 will explode though with hot weird it's sounding.
Yeah, I decided to go with that. The save was even in Japanese as Nioh Game Settings or something like that.
Deleting the save and restarting let the initial settings runthrough come up again. This time it was English again as it was the first time before the disc popped out and somehow fucked everything.
I think you might enjoy it and hopefully it'll scratch that itch for you. You already seem to know what you're in for and willing to learn/be patient. You'll do just fine in Nioh. Thanks for the reply. I'm not a fan of the souls games or even Bloodborn but this game looks to be scratching that itch for me, I need something different to play. I know I'll die a lot but I'm willing to learn and be patient.
See you in 7 hours gafGonna try sleep before the marathon begins.
Like fuck will i get some decent kip
OP made the request to mods due to popular demand.New thread title is so much better. Don't know why it was changed but good choice.
Already ahead of you and failing miserably lol. I'm too damn hype for my own good right now. I just can't sleep, got 7 hours to go. FFFFFJust going to smoke a bunch of kush and pass out until mail time tomorrow.

Wow, at the title change. Gotta say it is for the best, hopefully OP listens on Nier since he/she is doing that one as well and has some more weird ideas that no one will understand.
I went ahead and preordered. I am out of town until Thursday so I will be way behind. Looking forward to hearing the impressions of the second boss because it sounds like that one is the first wall of the game.
ffuuuuuuuu
OP needs to look at OTs like these and either up the quality or pass it on to someone else.

Beat both of today's Twilight mission, hell yeah. Among them the infamous "worst boss ever I'm gonna sell this game it's not my fault her stuff is undodgeable" second level. Game is soooo good man. Getting a feeling for the flux (changing stance along with regenerating Ki) is one of the single best things I'v ever done and tried to master in a video game. My muscle memory is still not quite there yet but I'm getting there and my moves are looking increasingly more stylish and effective. Remember when you guys finally understood Metal Gear Rising's parry? That's essentially how this is.
Also, it might be just me but I heavily recommend going light on armor. I'm playing mostly high/mid stance spear with A level agility. No need for defense when you are too elusive to get hit. A level agility drains Ki very slowly which gives you so much more freedom in fights, you people gotta try it. I used to just equip the shit with the highest numbers and the game just got so much easier when I realized I could rely on my skills over my equipment. Not sure how I missed that.
I literally just watched Shogun Assassin for the 500th time to prepare for tomorrow!!
