Nioh |OT| Stamina is Ki

By the way, I'm sure it's been said repeatedly (thread moves too fast and I can't read it all) but just in case, it's worth it to examine every bloody grave, and summon/kill those Revenants with red names. They are NPCs, not the ghosts of other players, and they give you reputation/glory points when defeating them. Neat.

To add to this, the red named graves are developer placed and their cause of death would sometimes give you hints of traps or puzzles

Example "death by falling" or "death by offending a nurikabe with a rude gesture" (paraphrase)

Maybe I missed it earlier but did anyone else who preordered from Best Buy get multiple DLC codes for what seems to be the same thing?

Yep someone else posted they received 9 codes

getting owned by the umbrella lady

it would be cool if she like actually suffered any sort of stamina drain that was more than a sliver after doing 9 straight attacks but no

loving it tho

She absolutely does suffer more damge to her ki than that its just she rapidly recovers when she is in the yokai realm zones so you have to clear them.

Difficulty-wise, how's this compare to Bloodborne?

(I loved it, but I was only able to finish Bloodborne by grinding the fuck out of myself)

How can I get back to the first mission I need to collect the Kodama?

Because I don't see it in the menu

The one with the giant balls

I just figured out that if you press dodge after a few attacks in mid-stance it does a hyper-dash and in high-stance it does a hyper-roll.

Different. Enemies hit you way harder than they do in bloodborne, but you have more moves, so there's more attack options. I'd say harder overall, but I'm not that far in.

First off this is my first time in this thread so I havnt read up on anything so sorry if this are asked a lot :(

Anyway I have just barely started and this game is fucking awsome. I have always wanted a japenase dark souls and the first area is giving me those vipes and I love it. Also there is a story which is incredible compared to most dark souls which have none. Can't wait to see some bosses now :)

Quick questions:

What is the point of going to that you-Kari (spirit world place)?

Then how to you parry and can I party with dual wielded swords, and the knife on chains thing?

I think similar difficulty but different. The enemies hit harder but there is less of a cheap vibe to level design. When you die it's your fault so far

Team Ninja the MVPs. Showing how redeeming DLC is done, received all my pre order (US PSN) items at my altar without problems on my main account(Not US). God bless

Suck a dick Capcom

I'm still on the firsr mission fresh out the boat farming a bit, feels good man.

So I'm using sickle and chain and sometimes spear, mostly putting into Body and Dex. Does anyone know if Skill also scales well with kusarigama? I'm guessing skill and dex are for ninja and evasive builds, but I've mostly just put into dex for the raw damage increase.

Trying to learn how to use the ninja skills, tested them out during the second boss fight while helping someone and kinda ... didn't help them at all lol

The shuriken and Kunai are good for draining enemy ki. The kyakudama and Horokudama are the things you can deal out serious damage with. Later on you'll get access to elemental shuriken and those are really fantastic for draining ki on bosses and bigger enemies. If you stack multiple status ailments their ki drain goes up exponentially (so for example poison + burning) and allows you to put enemies ina ki drained state super quickly.

Poison and paralysis don't count towards the Discord debuff.

Only elemental.

Is there a way to get more elixir after death than 3? I feel like I missed something like estus shards..

The number of elixirs you receive agreed death can be increased by finding additional kodama. The more you find the more elixirs you get. With four you get 1 additional elixir on death.

Ah didn't know that. Thanks!

How do I find secondary stat for Katana?

At the bottom of the info screen in your equipment page it will have a ranking for two stats from A to D. Those are the stats the weapon scales with. I can't recall what the secondary stats for katana are at the moment sorry.

I collected all the Kodama on the first two levels.
Now I am only missing eight Kodama over all? What happens in the later stages are there extra Kodama to collect? The game is supposed to have twenty main levels so how can I have gotten most of the Kodama on the first two levels?

Can I play the all missions with my brother? were only able to play the first mission together that we both already beat. Second mission or side quest aren't available when trying to link up at Torry gate

Co-op currently requires one person to have beaten the mission in order to be summoned by the other person.

Can't do coop together blind unfortunately, someone has to have already beaten the mission, and "Yokai With Companion" requires you to both have cleared it.

There are well over 100 Kodama, I believe - don't worry.

Sorry more questions,

What does sort by "ability" do...does it sort by the best Special Effects?

And I'm not sure I understand Attack Multiplier and how it influences Attack. I've been focusing more on the Attack number than the Attack Multiplier.

Yes dodge changes based on your stance. Low stance dodge is the least ki expensive, covers the most space and has the most i frames whereas high stance is the opposite.

The kodama work by region. So presumably the next missions would be located in a different region with a new set of kodama to collect.

After hours of trying, I cannot for the life of me beat this first-ish boss on the ship. I understand what the game wants me to do and take it slow and watch for indications of what the boss is going to do, and I try my best to do that, but I feel like I get caught in his spin attack as I'm trying to dodge away from him and I feel like I dodge attacks at the right time but still get punished for it. I seem to do very little damage to it and I haven't found a way to effectively farm healing items.

I honestly feel like I'm missing something really important. I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong. If this is an indication of the rest of the game, with it getting more difficult, then I'm not sure I really want to play it anymore.

The attack multiplier determines how much damage you do by multiplying it with the primary and secondary stat totals for the weapon. If you have a low value for those stats it's possible that a lower modifier on a different weapon associated with higher stats will end up providing more damage.

Well whats your build, what're your stats like, what weapons are you using?

Have you tried guarding instead of dodging, using high stance and hitting his back?
