Just finished the side missions on mission 1 and 2. The last one on 2 is pretty bonkers. (the cave mission).

Also, I unlocked a guardian spirit when I beat those extra 4 missions.

Those two things aren't mutually exclusive.

For Team Ninja they are, because this is the same thing Ninja Gaiden "suffered" from. Same for the boss fights. Combat and regular enemies is where Team Ninja shines. And all the interesting items and skills, reminds me of NGB.

I called them yesterday and they said they've never heard of any preorder bonus items or theme. That sucks. The only way to get them in the UK was the terribly overpriced digital deluxe edition.

Got the game. Cool that it came with a Nioh T-shirt (the box art). Bad that is, as usual, huge as fuck.

I've gotten the full set eexcept for helmet. If there even is any. Tried to get it though.

I think I got ost of it from mission 2 chests, and maybe some pieces from yokais. Cannot remmeber clearly.

One quits sleep, eating, work, studying and social interactions.

Continues where you left it, like you'd expect it to. My game had disconnected when I booted it back up from rest mode with some weird error message I've never seen before, but going to a shrine and re-connecting from there fixed that.

3. retreat and watch out for his chains

So is there any consensus on the best way to allocate stats? I read that you should just focus on one key stat (preferably the one that aligns with your primary melee weapon) but I've noticed that you'll occasionally get bigger stat boosts when leveling stats to certain levels. Like, for instance leveling Strength may give a +2 to my Katana when it typically gives +1 or nothing at all. My guess is that certain stat levels have larger boosts and I only assume that because I've roughly been using the same equipment this entire time.

All stats. However, the soft cap is really soft unlike dark souls where there's a noticeable difference. Still, the majority of your damage output will depend on your weapon so feel free to experiment a bit.

Okay but we're talking about the campaign and caviar of ARPG combat systems so even if your point was true that combat goes a long way. But I'm not sure I agree with your point. Now I appreciate I am basing this on the demos only so maybe I'm way off but the atmosphere in levels is top notch which is a combination of a number of different elements. The enemy design is frequently brilliant, the bloody graves are a great innovation, music is good etc. The game does a lot of things right beyond the combat.

The fishing village is my favorite level when it comes to the things you mentioned.
They sure didn't do a bad job with any of the elements present. Everything is at least competent or good, but only the combat aspect is truly great and as said before that's perfectly fine with me.
It just bares mentioning that not every little thing about it is gold and it doesn't have to be for it to be worth playing.

Yes, KI drains faster and KI pulse won't work anymore. Don't know if the later is the case for yellow, but red for sure.

Wow, what a game! I've played about 5 hours total. Played through the tutorial, first mission and first sub-mission. Fought dozens of Revenants, picked the bird for the first Guardian Spirit (Really good bonus with 9 Spirit).

Favourite weapons so far are the Double Swords and Spear. Spear is really good against anything other than other spear-users so far.

Solid game, I'd recommend this to anyone.

Both are great for headshots. Tbh, they're really mostly pulling devices and for the occasional sniping.

Or I found on the second main mission shooting the eyes of the cyclops worked well.

You need to kill two specific revenants for this set it seems.

I got a couple pieces from player revenants though.

Yeah, but the stat increase is permanent. +1 spirit is argued to be the best choice to keep build flexibility open, and the fact most people seem to be saying 10~13 spirit is a minimum requirement.
