Browsing through the many things you can unlock. One of them gives you details about each enemy (as well as each character you come across). This adds a little to the lore for those interested.

Only the first description is unlocked and to unlock the others, you need to beat them a certain number of times.

Bosses need to be beat 3 times and others can take 20, 40 or 100 times.

From the above Hino-enma picture: "..she is believed to cause all manner of troubles and misfortunes." A description has never been so accurate lol

Some bad news for those having trouble with her: there's a title you can achieve when you beat her without getting hit. There's another title for beating her 5 times. These apply to all bosses. Just something to look forward to :p but things should be easier once you level up and get better equipment. Her weakness is Lightning, btw. You can also see their weakness once you beat them.

Scroll through the list of titles. There is ALOT to do in this game.

Just finished the tutorial level. I went in blind, and I totally didn't expected that opening.

I can see myself playing Nioh for a very long time..

Damn 75 pages in already, just popping in to say OP did a great job on the OT! I'll definitely be picking up Nioh sometime in the future, just finished Bloodborne so I'm on a short break of souls-like games before I start the next.

Repost for the new page...

1) this game is amazing- GOTY amazing.

2) in mission 4/5 (I think) what the heck do I do after I take out the giant
pikachu hell dog? I figured the mission would end but then I ended up in the catacombs, killed the Templar knight statues and now I'm stuck :(

Perfect kill on the Big T

and the achievement for Toad crusher is bugged c:
Team ninja plz.

Why do you like Hino?

- Fight requires good spacing
- Has combo strings, which she can mix up
- Allows you to take full advantage of ki mechanics
- Audio queues and very good tells, ( like the way she revs up the projectile)

Man this
ice lady
is assblasting me.

Strategy i eventually settled on https://youtu.be/Y7mcGvetqfE .
Shes so good!

So, uh, I cheesed the centipede boss. It got stuck in the wooden walkway, and I could attack it when it raised its head for a second (and it couldn't attack me). I'll take it. What a shit ass fight with the poison ground.

Wth, I can't go back to previous missions after I completed? I'm on the map menu, and the only available missions are the next mission and sub-missions.

Play for 10 hours.

Never spend any gold on anything.

Amass 195,400 gold.

"I think I'll Soul Match my favorite weapon from level 25 to level 35."

Costs 192,608 gold.

That boss took me almost five hours to beat, and was without a doubt the one boss in the game I got stuck on worse than any other. Part of that I think, though, was my just getting more and more frustrating, and trying over and over when I should have walked away for a while and tried again later.

I have one weapon that, to bump it to the point I want it at, is something like 29 million. XD

When I hit a wall I just go help random people and it helps me get confident again.

Defeated U
mibōzu
yesterday, right before going to bed.
After reading the hate that boss was getting in this thread yesterday, I was afraid that I'll have to leave that for today, but luckily it only took me 3-4 tries. The stage though... I really hated it, because it was super dark and confusing.

At one point after
lightning the 3rd flame
I literally had to kill myself after running in circles for 15 minutes looking for a way out from where I was, because I didn't know how to get back to the main part of the stage.

Also, those blob enemies there - definitely my most hated enemy type in Nioh so far.

The main stage before that -
the poison mine
was fun too. Near the end I was madly running from a bunch of enemies and poison and I triggered the boss battle by accident. I think I had half of my Elixirs and wasn't prepared for it, but somehow, mostly through running around and getting a hit here and there I managed to defeat that boss on my first try.

Guess I'll be on my way to the 3rd region after I'm done with the 2 side missions which unlocked. And all the new trainings, because I bet they unlock some skills or something.

Still having a blast with the game after 10+ hours. I feel like the difficulty balance is just right - deaths usually don't feel cheap and boss battles are hard but satisfying.

Oh my god, this
blob
boss is absurd.
If he didn't do the beam he'd be free, but it's an insta kill and I do such dicks damage to him even with fire.

yeah 10 tries in and counting on the second boss and I havent gotten more than 2 hits in.

im getting absolutely shrekt. Would help if i didnt die in 2 hits ffs.

I'm totally confused on how to do skills. I bought a few skills for spear(the parry, the low sweep, and the staff push), but they all have the same input of triangle while blocking. The only one that comes out is the sweep move

So titles are tied to unlocking skills? what titles do i need to be progressing?
No, the titles just unlock small bonuses. The skills are unlocked by doing the training missions for the various masters.

You can only use a single skill for each input, though different stances can have different skills for the same inputs. You'll have to choose which one you'll use. You do this in the skill customization menu, one step to right from the skill menu.

One of the menus (one right of the skills menu I think) lets you customise which skills you use with each button combo. Some of them do overlap, so that menu is where you tell the game which one you want to use.

If a skill shares the same input as another skill you can only use one at once. You can set which comes out in the Skill Customization menu.

Played 30 minutes of Bloodborne after 10 hours of Nioh. This game ruined Blooborne.

Should put that as a warning sticker on the back of the box.

Well that's pretty lame. Thanks for the explanation

so yeah this will definitely be my GOTY unless the entire mid/latter half of the game is just completely terrible or something which I highly doubt.

hey guys, so what;s the consensus on junk stuff? give it as an offering, dismantle or sell at the blacksmith

btw, do i pay for dismantling?

Dismantling is free, and offering items gives you amrita (more if familiarity is maxed) and gifts which are usually extra consumables.

Offering has a title attached to it as well.

Should I be doing anything with weapons/switching them up after I get max familiarity? I've got a couple rare ones which are pretty good but I'm unsure if I should be maxing as many different kinds as possible

Have a question. What do the bottom right numbers mean on the sub mission screen? For instance, I'm currently viewing the, "Death to Bandits" submission. I've played the mission and beat it. Just wondering what the numbers in the bottom right corner are referring to. It currently says 2/3. Am I missing something. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: D'oh! I think I figured this out. Mission 2 out of 3? Ho boy. Forgive me! Too much Nioh, not enough sleep.

There is a pillar where you can kite him around in circles, so he can't hit you with his projectiles. You can then sprint to reach his back, get one hit on him and dash back. Then run around the pillar again. It takes more time, but is pretty safe

I just
kited him around the pillar in the middle of the room to make space to run to the ladder leading to the wind machine, if you get on the ladder, but stay on the bottom half it still tracks you. I sat 1 run below halfway, as soon as he got close to me I'd climb up, sprint to the edge next to the wind machine, drop down do a falling attack as he passed by.
