Very few people know it but an Arcane build done right is the most OP and game breaking build in Bloodborne.

I have a 99 Arcane BL110 Bloodborne character. You can just safely sit back from a distance and totally destroy the toughest bosses in the game. Even in the deepest hardest FRC chalice dungeons.

Not quite the same as playing a mage in Souls though. If you want to play like a mage (pew pewing from a distance etc.) it takes quite a bit. First, you can't do it right away, you need to progress quite a bit into the game. Second, it's hard to sustain for a full playthrough, you'll mostly use it as a boss nuke.

So yes, arcane is valid and different play style, but not quite the same as magic builds in Souls games.

Does this game have the best female presentation by Team Ninja ?

They all seem competent and non fanserviced...Unless that changes in the late game.
I haven't seen a female NPC yet but that's awesome to hear. I would have been so disappointed if they threw in their typical juvenile T&A.

Bought the game and played through the Tower section, the Tutorial and unlocked the first shortcut. I died like 3 times to the very first enemy because I kept pressing R1 to attack (stupid me).
Combat feels great but I'm also a tiny bit intimidated because I'm always forgetting to regenerate KI after a combo and not sure what weapon and stance to use in what situation, I'm mostly in medium. This seems to be way more complex than any Souls game but I also feel like a total noob.

Is it worth investing levels and skill points into katanas? I really like them so far, but I'm a bit nervous about miss leveling and finding myself trapped because of that.

All of the weapons are viable. In any case it's fairly easy to respec.

For learning ki pulse I'd actually recommend getting the skills that let you ki pulse when you dodge. Since dodging after a combo is pretty intuitive it's a good way to figure out the timings of the ki pulse without leaving you as open to getting hit.

Guys, questions please :

1) can you reset stats ? I want to play this blind but only if i can fix it without restarting the whole game :p

2) how do you get the barehanded parry

3) how do i get summoned by other players

Thank you !

That sounds useful. thx.

The first couple of levels will allow you to try every single weapon to see which one works for you. Once you decide which one you like best, yes, put points into it. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of them. You can always respec too like someone else mentioned.

I personally chose katanas and I haven't used a single other weapon since. It's the shit, I think it has the coolest looking weapons as well.

Yeah I also like the look and feel of the katana.

Nice, killed the first(?) boss.
Can't remember his name, but the burly ass dude with the wrecking balls.
This game scratches the souls itch for sure, but in its own right. Quite hard honestly. Took me quite a few tries.

I feel like he got a buff as far as sweep recovery is concerned. I couldn't chain sweep him :(

I can't either

I'm resorting to running around the rock like a bitch and poking him every couple of minutes. Not fun, I obviously can't go toe to toe with him with what I have going

This fucking game is too much

Getting my ass kicked all over the place wtf. I'm in the starting area after the tutorial shit. once I get like 4 dudes on me it's fucking game over man.

Time to get good

Kodama blessing as a helper, yes or no?

Can't find an answer. If so I'd be using Healer Blessing since you can't replenish your stock at Shrines

After 2 hours I finally opened the Fishing Village shortcut door behind the second shrine. I actually feel like going out on the piss to celebrate.

It's spelled git gud.

And while I'm not doing much better than you, I recommend using stones to lure enemies out. It's near impossible (for me) to not die once three or more enemies are on me at once.

Use stones or a ranged weapon to draw out individual enemies. There aren't that many instances were the game forces you to fight a group early on.

He got a MAJOR league buff. Back in the beta I wiped him on my first try easily. Today I got obliterated by him about 20 times before I got him. Every single boss fight up until now has been a breeze without a single death or even getting close to it. But this duel (not with the impostor, but the real one) is insane, man.

I hate, HATE, how he can do everything even when he has 0 chi. Like, you finally drop him to 0 so you can do a grab but at that moment he does one of his combos and takes away 5/6 of your hp. Without this cheat he would be a million times easier :/

This really is amazing experience despite getting my teeth kicked in early on I just keep coming back and improving. Nioh just does so many things right :)

I am so loving this game. It is a souls game with a ninja gaiden flair. I am almost level 30. Had a hell of a time beating the third boss for some reason, got mad and finally started fighting revenants and got much better loot. It was so satisfying after finally taking her out.

My only issue with this game is the graphics. While they aren't terrible, the textures and AA are bad even on the pro, regardless of movie or action IMO. This is a game that demands 60fps for a satisfying experience, at least to me. So action mode it is. It's just a shame that they couldn't squeeze a little more out of the pro on this title. Maybe there will be in future updates. Regardless I love it and am binge playing it. I stayed up until 5 am last night, only to go to work 3 hours later and Im thinking of that game at work as if a siren is calling to me haha. Dark Souls 3 was the last game that sucked me in that hard. Bravo Team Ninja!

Yep, pick off guys one by one if you can. Also, master the Ki Pulse. You can master it without even fighting anyone. Just swing your weapon and practice.

That should be the one... it's in the first column of skills, and requires the "damage boost after perfect pulse" upgrade. Maybe it's different for various weapons - that's how it works with the kusarigama, at least. The dodge *is* the pulse and you shouldn't need to hit R1.

Ki Pulse on dodge means you just dodge to pulse, so you don't have to hit R1.
Thanks. How strange, I swear I couldn't get it to activate without pushing both. I'll have to give it another try tonight.

so yeah, i finally get why people hate bats. my first death, even if i knew it was coming fuckers were too fast and i stepped in their attack zone by mistake lol

Even if they hit you and you lose your balance on the edge of the cliff if you quickly press X and forward you'll jump back on the ledge again. I found this by mistake when I was about to die for the 5th time by falling to my death like an idiot.

The summoning guardian spirit spell is crazy fun, especially once you have 6+ of them. Each guardian spirit has a unique summoning attack.

I'm probably the worst for wanting this, but I'd love for Hayabusa to show up in some form in the DLC. A fight against him in this combat engine would be tremendous.

I pre-ordered the digital deluxe version from Amazon in early January, but didn't get the Crimson armor. Got the weapons and everything else. What gives?

The Crimson armor code was sent to my email address, I bought the standard copy but I assume they would do the same for yours.

I don't want him to be easier but his 0 KI (it's not Chi BTW) is the biggest BS ever.

The Bloodborne guide was about 4 weeks late too IIRC

The BB Guide was known about and could be preordered long before the game came out but it got delayed because of a huge day 1 patch.

The Nioh guide as far as I can tell was only listed on Amazon after the game came out, and it is as far as I can tell not advertised in any single other place online.

I can't either

I'm resorting to running around the rock like a bitch and poking him every couple of minutes. Not fun, I obviously can't go toe to toe with him with what I have going

I'm onthe secondregion already and haven't unlocked the Muneshige fight. Did I miss something? Is there pre requisite of some kind?

right, since I pronounce it chi I usually write chi but in this game it's ki and I keep forgetting that. I have fixed that in the OT long ago just fyi.

Yeah, he isn't really that hard or broken besides that one thing. But that one thing is just too much. A damn crutch without which he would get wiped easily.

Hey, didn't read everthing, sorry if it's old but...

do you lose all your Ninjutsu and Onmyo Skill Points from Items after respecing? Just did it and i could swear I had more points. I am a little bit shocked right now.

Go into a training mission and come out again. I think it needs a reset to menu or something
