Gah so if I don't want to get too bogged down with the gear management aspect of the game I'm going to have a much tougher time?

Just got to Lady paralysis and did an ok-ish first try but now I'm seeing gaffers saying if you're having a tough time with the game you're probably not min/maxing stuff well enough...why was I under the impression that the armor element was akin to Fashion Souls TM and not necessarily a pivotal part of the game?

Want to enjoy the game as much as the vast majority of Gaf is seeming to but I'm not feeling it as much :(((((...

What a great game. I'm not a veteran in this type of game but Nioh made me an even bigger fan than I was after playing Bloodborne. I will definitely replay Bloodborne again and start Dark Souls III after this game.

A few days ago I got to Hino-enma. The first few tries I got wrecked before I could even get her down to 70%. I tried brute forcing it by farming to fill up the hidden weapon meter and taking 50% of her health of with that. Didn't lead to victory.

Yesterday I tried again. Took it a bit slower, looked for patterns and I started to get her to 5 - 10% a few times very consistently (only to mess up at the last moment because I wanted to rush the last bit). I ended up not using living weapon at all and sometimes I didn't even need (m)any elixers. It felt great beating the boss, carefully timing attacks, dodging at the exact right moment, chipping away stamina.

The game really teaches you to be patient and precise and teaches you how to become a better player. Great experience so far.

Currently I am putting almost all my points in dexterity (20 now) for a kusarigama/ninja build. Are there other stats worth investing in? Not really sure how to create a solid ninja build yet. Also not sure what the best secondary weapon is to go with the kusarigama (currently have the dual swords equipped but I never use them).

Black Samurai <3

If there's one thing I'd like to change about this game is more spell variety, or more spells period. Going around as a water bending samurai sounds so cool. Maybe next time.

Should I be swapping my Guardian Spirit? I've unlocked a bunch of new ones at this point. Is there a reason to change or is it just preference?

Massively depends on your build tbh.

Aya-komori seems to be the best for LW or back attack builds (what I use)

Suzaku is probably the outright best and most balanced

Guys, I can't set up a talisman. What did I miss? :\

Your capacity is 3 and it costs 5.

You can raise it by leveling up magic, and assuming can you have enough skill points can raise capacity in the skill tree, I think it's towards the bottom of the list in Omnyo.

You need more Omnyo capacity. You have 3 and the jutsu costs 5 to be equipped. You can increase it by adding points into magic or learn the bottom skill in the omnyo tree

Similar to Attunement slots in Dark Souls, you need more Onmyo capacity. Either level up your Magic a few more levels or find something within the skill tree that will lower the cost.

Thank you, sir. ;_;

I havent dabbled in soul forge or reforging weapons as I am just collecting rare materials for end game forging. The game hands out good weapons like candy when you got very high luck and I dont even feel the need to look through every nook and corner.
The bosses are just becoming easier and easier for me and my damage output is crazy (even if I have a balanced spread out stats).

Still not feeling this game. It is just becoming more and more boring the more I play. Most enemies don't put up any fight and you can just stunlock them to death by mashing. Even the basic yokai are like this.

After the last 4 bosses or so being pretty easy, Yuki-Onna is fucking my shit up. I came close to beating her my 2nd try, but 10 tries later and I am getting worse, I think!

Yeah once you got good gear you hit like a truck. Bosses go down within 2-3 min. Especially if you can get behind them and get a good combo in. That's what I am seeing atleast.

Off I go to the 2nd region. I'm getting the hang of it so far.

I

hate

tachibana.

Is it the same Tachibana as the one in the Last Chance demo or the one in
The Spirit Stone Slumber
?

I found the latter to be much easier. I beat it on my first try. I hope I'll get the chance to fight him in a real duel like in the demo later.

yep. they have a good combat AI as one can see when fighting revenants in twilight or in the duel missions, but they don't use it for 95% of the game.

So onmyo is the shit? I mainly specced into body so far and seem to manage just fine. Tried ninjutsu but felt kinda underwhelmed. Any talents that are highly recommended in those 2 trees? Which should i focus on to complement my sword build? And how far? Much love <3

3rd region spoilers.

Did anyone else find the
Spider Castle
to be incredibly easy? Cool design and all, but I basically steam rolled everything and the boss did not hit me once.

I'd like to think it's skill but I have a feeling the level is quite straight forward in general.

easy for sure.

i really enjoyed that level.

So for this level 56 mission? The Malefactors? The descriptions reads defeat the Yokai and I've killed everything in the level but I don't know what to do now? Any ideas?

Haven't even bothered with those yet lol.

Level itself wasn't any easier than earlier stuff. All the levels have been a joke difficulty-wise IMO so far. Boss was definitely way easier than anything else before it.

Yeah that was definitely the easiest for me. Boss didn't pull any strange tricks and I was able to do it first time with no issues

This main story mission is quite good. Compared to some this one's layout and enemy positioning is quite remarkable.
Region 3 The Demon of Mount Hiei

Yeah it was relatively straightforward. I did beat the boss first try though it was a close fight due to some of the restrictions it had on movement.

So did I find yet another bug in the game?
In the mission "Falling Snow", there are some
Blue crystals that have a magic barrier around them due to some ice butterflies. After you kill the butterflies, you're told to go back to the crystals and see if anything has changed. So I go back, and I still can't get through. All of the information out there simply says you destroy them...
.

I do zero damage against them.

killing them opens like 2 crystal doors

Finally beat the game, moving on to the post game now. Like 5 systems opened up, good god.

Did Oroboros ever post a video for his build? The one for infinite LW. I can't assume it's just Pleiades and Extraction and that's it, right?

Are there any resources for the post game? I'm guessing a lot of people aren't there yet but it'd be nice to research and discuss builds. I'm personally having a real dilemma deciding how to distribute my stats. I think the LW build pumps spirit and I do have spirit scaling weapons but it feels off.
