What are the soft caps for the stats? Universal (every stat caps at the same level) or individual?

No one knows this?

And another question, while progressing through the game should I bother with Soul matching, forging etc or is this more for end game. Currently I'm just equipping the loot I get and keep one weapon from every category, the rest I disassemble because I assume I'll need crafting mats for later.

Forge all the way through

In which case, disassemble EVERYTHING especially your Legendaries. The Mats you get are worth more selling as Amrita you can get anytime.

lmao this End-game East and West mission, that was fun

Forge all the way through

Is there a good, exhaustive, and simple to understand video somewhere explaining every facet of the crafting/blacksmith mechanics of the game?

I'm about halfway in and have "mastered" all of the combat mechanics (from Ki Pulsing to stance switching) but I still don't fully understand what and how I would ever use the blacksmith for anything, apart from maybe change my weapon's appearance.

Oh that's why we never got another game...

What do the red swords mean in this picture? I've seen them on the mission select too, I'm guessing difficulty out of 5?

Ooo Yuki-Onna is a cool boss. Finally. Seems a decent boss to practice dodging.

First boss was good and manageable, but fuck 2 and 3, is Nue even considered a boss? He's more like a mini boss that wrecks your shit.

Yah Nue is ass. So much health that if you start now you will be ready tomorrow. And
it is a miniboss only. Real boss on that level is super easy.

Basically

When you Forge something, it takes certain mats. You have Uncommon to Legendary versions of the mats (apart from special mats used for special weapons). The more Legendary mats you use, the higher chance at getting a Legendary.

Disassemble everything to get mats, especially Legendary stuff.

When you Forge, it makes the weapon based on your level (which makes it a much better idea than Soul Matching).

That's basically it.

The actual abilities when Forging is irrelevant, just the rarity, because rarity determines how many you get. You can Reforge abilities to get the ones you want.

. That instant kill laser is so fucking dumb. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if he'd just stuck to his normal tell where you see the energy gathering but sometimes he does the version where it basically has no windup and comes out instantly.

I guess I'm a cheap fuck but I'm not forging anything right now. Right now the loot I'm getting on stages is good enough and I don't feel like wasting mats for something it may be obsolete quick.

I plan on forging an OP Raikiri once I reach max weapon level (150 I think).

Yeah, 3rd map here and I haven't touched forging at all. It just seems like I trip over high-level, rare gear every other step. So far I've been content just offering my old equipment for amrita and using whatever has the highest level and nicest passives.

Ok, where does the whole
love story with Okatsu suddenly came from?
They barely spoke before now?
I know he saved her, but like, that's not how that works >_>

Yeah but you can hit those generators and for the rest he didn't really poison me. Don't use lock on and always block that bite first or you'll get DSP'd.

It spat goop through the pillar near the machine a few times, which poisoned me. :/
At least it's dead now.

Is it viable to use the Shinobi set for the entire game and keep upgrading it?
Or should I just use the best light armor as it becomes available?

It is dumb for sure. It only comes out after it throws something though so if you just keep moving left or right it shouldn't hit you.

Forging seems to be a waste honestly. I have done few times and I probably used those weapons for like 10 minutes and already found something better.

Yeah that's my feeling right now. As I said I sitll want to forge my weapon but only once I reach level cap, so I can truly focus on building the best possible.

I guess If I'm stuck on some level I would look into it but as for now I'm progressing fine with what I'm finding just clearing stages.

I should put some points in to magic. Some of it seems kind of useful.

They truly are. Ki drain magic or weapon buff works wonder (also the slow magic, but I'm not using it other than coop because I feel dirty casting it lol)

TL:DR;

  • Most stats have a minor softcap at 10.
  • Health (Body and Stamina) softcaps at 10, then stays linear.
  • Ki (Heart) softcaps at 15 and again at 40.
  • Equip weight max slowly tapers off with no softcap.
  • Ki Pulse slowly tapers off. Arguably softcaps at 40 and 50.
  • Anything that gives skill points stays linear forever with no cap.
  • Magic and ninja power slowly tapers off with no softcap.
  • Magic and ninja capacity both hardcap at 30.
  • Figuring out weapon scaling is going to take way more science.

I recorded a video of myself farming 9.5 million amrita in 10 minutes in the penultimate mission. I didn't have toyotomi bonus, so I guess it is possible to get 10+ million amrita in 10 minutes.

Like Diablo there's too much loot and stats and perks for these loots that I don't even care what most of them are, I just look at defense rating, weight percentage and whether they have a particular resistance towards a certain thing in the level.

Game does a very poor job of explaining these perks/stats.

People who think Hino-enma is cheap.

Good luck fighting
Yuki-onna

Has LobosJr or anyone else tried a lvl 1 bare hands no armor run yet? Lol

Press the touchpad and it explains everything.

TBH, loot won't matter with decent gameplay and really they're preparing you for late gane, just like Diablo or any other loot game for that matter.

You can press the help button for info on everything in the game.

Seriously you guys are gonna lose your shit at end game.

Haha, I'm really looking forward to LobosJr's challenge runs for this game.

I think it's possible, barehanded does quite a bit of damage, compared to Souls and Bloodborne. Well, it should, considering the bosses HP.

That's not specific to the twilight version, he can do it on normal too.

They have loads, especially A Agility low-stance

Are you sure? I can't seem to dodge through any attacks at all in medium stance (50% encumbrance) and this is coming from someone who completed shieldless runs in almost every Soulsborne game.

What could I be doing wrong? And there seem to be two dodge moves: a dash and a roll. Do both have iFrames?
