That was me. Your welcome :)

I haven't faced her a second time yet as I do want to spend more time practicing on her second phase to better understand how to manage dealing with her upgraded ice shards without keeping long distance. Also to practice timing the dodge for her staff thrust which I also had issues dealing with aside from just playing keep away.

She was the first boss in the game I felt I defeated without properly mastering, or feeling entirely comfortable in how to approach her. Just didn't feel like a very satisfying victory, but I'll likely face her again in Twilight to get my proper victoly.

Good Gods.
A twilight version of her?
Fuck that noise.

I just managed to beat her with the strategy some guy gave on here to stay far away in the 2nd form. So thank you for that.

Baiting her dash and having room to dodge her projectiles seemed like the only way.
Up close she devastates you.

What an absurdly strong boss for what I assume is about the middle of the game.
Hell knows what the next one is like.

I actually thought that boss was the most challenging main mission boss, so you might have an easier time with the next few.

If you're using Sword, he's broken

Just keep on using Heaven Flash, he will constantly be staggered and can't do anything. I dunno why this happens...

I actually tried this for the first time last night after you seeing you suggest this. It seems kind of game-breaking against human opponents? Definitely seems like something I want to stay away from.

Theresa a twilight mission in a cave that spawns her right behind you in a well, 5sec from the start. Might be convenient to wait for it.

Indeed. I just used the Rabbit and in 2 runs ( 3 big spiders + 1 boss each run) I got 6 of them. Enough to craft a few pieces. Now onto soul matching them.

Not a trick, but the Swift Step skill (Katana) works really well on these guys and the one-eyed giants. It's LS up + X at the end of a low stance combo and puts you behind an enemy's back complete with

Really great move that is, I use it all the time, useful on everything including bosses. You can make everyenemy look like a fool tryig to keep up with you lol This and L1+square in the low stance (when you hit enemy with your weapon holster or whatever it is called) are absolutely amazing.

Like, it doesn't happen until you fight enemies around the half-way mark of the game. It's utterly bizarre that it happens.

Guys so does keeping samurai hair locks in your inventory boost any stats?? It says in the description that one who keeps them on there person gets some kind of boost but do they just mean getting points by using them up? I have like 20 of them in my inventory lol

Guys I have no idea how to deal with Tengu. They annihilate me every single time I fight them. I main an Earth effect Kusarigama and a sword is my secondary. I just can't deal with how fast they are and the reach of that fucking staff.

I need tips because this is negative fun bashing my head against the wall trying to figure this shit out. I've had less trouble with every single boss so far than the very first Tengu of this damn Twilight missin.

I can only kill tengu with sloth talisman plus lightning effect sword lol

If they go for the claw swipe into roundhouse kick, they go for the slightly delayed staff swing (with long reach) afterwards almost guaranteed, so dodge forwards once they do. Occasionally they'll also go for another roundhouse kick if you're behind them, so be sure to start punishing that move (be it standalone or in a combo) whenever you see it occur without overextending. Projectile (both the grounded and airborne one) can be dodged through too, and dodge sideways for the remaining two aerial attacks if you want to be in a position to hit him afterwards. Use kicks as well to lower his stamina, since you'll only be getting relatively small hits in until his bar is depleted.

Fuck no this snow boss is broken, fuck this.

She will keep you ranged out with projectiles all day, then if you move in she will slam the floor with ice and hurt you.
Rinse and repeat til you are dead.

For instance her multi projectile move.
Yes you can dodge all of them but only if your dodge for the 1st one is absolutely perfect, otherwise the timing is off and you are fucked.

She has so, so little chances to get in on her and do any damage later in the fight, and will always counter with the ice slam almost immediately.

So then you move back out and get hit in the face with more projectiles...
The ice slam is her most punishable move, since it doesn't actually do any damage past the initial 'blast.' In fact: many of her moves have a relatively long recovery period, so once you've learned how to dodge you can get a number of hits in before the next one comes out if you're feeling frisky. Blocking a number of projectiles (but not all of them) isn't too bad of an idea either when you're actually using armor and those lingering ice shards before they detonate can also be destroyed to create an opening if need be, but that admittedly requires good presence of mind to pull off on a whim. Of course you can always outrun some of those like someone else already mentioned, but it's more exciting trying to get in closer.

I no-damage'd her at LVL 1 with, low quality armor, no items and no Living Weapon, so she's entirely reasonable (and not that oppressive) once you can identify the gaps in her offense.

See above if you want a somewhat solidified strategy. Still plenty of room for improvement though.

Izuna changing avatars too fast for me to keep up :(

LOL. This reminds me of fire keeper souls in dks1. I used all of them on my first run and couldn't figure out why they seemingly didn't do anything beneficial.

I think it's referred to as both names in the game, for some reason. There is a title that calls it "one of a kind", but if you look at the spirit iron chunk, it says "exotic"

In individual game settings it's called exotic

I think one of a kind refers to the special items like with sets and stuff, stuff you need smithing texts for

Just got to the Centipede boss and NOPE'd out of there.

I fucking hate poison floors in gaming. As I said earlier, it basically made me stop playing Metroid Prime 2.

But I made it through Demon's Souls, and Dark Souls 1+2. I will do it, just not tonight. I got the Ninjutsu poison pill stuff, and a bunch of antidotes so I'm prepared at least. Just tried once.

I have never summoned, but visiting has always been instantaneous for me. Most of the time it was early levels, but even if I manually selected just the penultimate level it was instant

You just shoot/hit the rocks and the poison goes away

Use mid stance sword and hit him in the back once. He will in response 100% do the twirl attack. Dash away at 45 degrees forward-left of him and dash again 45 degrees forward-right to his back and do 2 hits to his back. Rinse and repeat the 2 dashes and 2 slashes until he's dead.

I didn't look on the floor to be honest. Soon as the fight started (wasn't really prepared for a boss!) I saw a ladder and got to higher ground. Fumbled around in my inventory to look for a travel amulet but died while trying to NOPE out...

There are more summoners than there are being summoned. Takes me about 3 seconds to be summoned.

Yes, i can attest to this. I've always connected instantly when looking for random encounters to play coop. I would imagine there are more people looking for help than there are looking to help at this early stage. Especially with the way coop works although I've seen workarounds in which people can go through the game in coop on Reddit.

So when do the Dojo missions for unlocking the Ninjitsu/Onmyo mystic arts become available? I just finished the
5th
region and I've been hoarding Onmyo points forever for that instant-cast skill.

Very soon. Some point early in the 6th region.

DLC bait I should imagine. The Siege of Osaka is a big part of them and that shit goes down over 10 years later.
Okay I legit don't understand this skeleton thing.
Hit weak spot in one leg till it goes to 0 hp, go wail on the head. Hit weak spot on leg 2 'till it goes to 0 hp, go wail on the head. Stay on the ledges to bait arm attacks and wail on the weak spot on the whatever hand that remains near 'till it goes to 0 hp etc.
